    I don’t comment on here but I must thank you Dr John. You equipped me with rational info so I could persuade my disbelieving loved ones to listen and act when the western media failed us. We are now all ready for this thing and I can finally relax knowing we’ve done what we can. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Do know you’ve saved so many of us with these videos. With love from Australia. Good luck everybody x

      As a germaphobic introvert (with a bit of self-diagnosed OCD), I’m very happy to be “safe at home, not stuck at home.” I’ve got my books, journal, Bible study classes (by Zoom), husband, warm spring weather on the way, and family & friends available by text, phone, email, FB & IG. I had 4 years of confinement already due to a kidney surgery gone disastrous, so I’m content knowing the world can spin without my efforts.

    Sir, you're amazing. I'm the head of health and safety for my company (among a list of other things) and we haven't been getting that great of a breakdown of whats going on in the US to figure out how to keep our employees safe. I've been watching your videos every day as part of my daily research on the situation and started several weeks back. It gave us enough time to see that this was going to be a weird time and let us set stuff up for our people before we even had cases in our state. Thank you!

      No one is arguing this, especially since covid19 is primarily a contact spread virus for the population at large. BUT is you have protective Ab you should be able to go to work. IF this insanity of locking every one up , no matter what, in their house for a year will kill millions with loss of transport, loss of support for people in need, for food and medicine production! So, even if we stair step "return to work" we need this to take place.

    GRATITUDE UPDATE: I truly wasn't expecting such an outpour of love and support. Thank you all. Also, my condolences to those folk who replied also lost loved ones or have loved ones fighting the virus. Dad was fortunate that he was well cared for by me and my mother and that the wonderful hospital staff took care of him right until the end. I am grateful for that. To everyone, all I can ask is to stay safe and also never take your loved ones for granted. In a few days, they could be gone. RIP Dad. Thank you all.

    Dr. Campbell, I would like to ask you for a favor. I am a German National that has now lived in China for 11 years. Been through the lock down in China and I see something that the Asians do while other countries do not. That is the wearing of Surgical or Cloth Mask. In many western countries the government even says not to wear masks. I can understand this, but it is wrong.
    Any cloth cover, such as in Surgical Mask or even the most primitive home made cloth mask will prevent the person wearing it from spreading droplets. And droplet spreading is the main method of spreading. Again, I know that they like to keep the limited supply of Surgical Masks for key personal. But it takes almost nothing to make a cloth mask at home, and if governments and medical advisory would push people to make their own cloth mask and wear them always outside the droplet infection rate would drop. Yes the mask itself does not much to protect yourself, but if EVERYBODY wears one you end up being indirectly protected by not spreading droplets yourself.
    Please start pushing for people to make their own cloth mask and war them, and also throw this in into every interview you are making. I am 100% sure that this is something we can do across the world and it would most likely be as important as distance, hand washing and such.

      @andreashauschild7757 4 ปีที่แล้ว +50

      @@Encourageable My first reply was a bit crash, but it is because I find baseless statements to be infuriating. Certainly China has not given all the facts at one time or another. But watching our own media, specially in the USA i must say our facts are often presented one way or the other, pending on the political bias the person has. So its not much better.
      As to facts. I of course, as everybody else do not know if China is giving honest numbers. I can only judge if the numbers seem to be reflected in what I see. I drive every day to work in my car, and I pass the 9 Dragon Hospital in Suzhou pretty much every day. I know that during the peak of the outbreak the hospital had lines, the parking lots where full, indicating allot of people where trying to get medical care. When I drive by this place today it looks pretty normal. No lines, parking lots filled with about regular volume from last year. So observing the local hospital traffic seems to indicate that at least to some degree the Chinese numbers are in fact representative of the facts.
      So I personally choose to take the Chinese numbers as pretty accurate to the truth, as I can use my own eyes to compare it to what was and what is.

    Also here in Germany we have a lot of ICUs and doctors per capita. Only a very small amaount of our hospitals are completely full at the moment. And as long as we can handle all critical patients good we should be able to hold the deathrate down. Hope we can keep it up that way and can fight the virus, so we can help our friends and neighbors in Italy, Spain and France! We already take patients from the border-region in France and we will not stop with that, as long as we have free capacity. Our military is also flying out critical patients from Italy, but unfortunately that is pretty hard limited by the amount of beds for respiratory patients in our MedEvac plains. Keep it up and clean we have to fight this together!

      i am a nurse too in sc. The full Whuhan has not hit our county yet and i am so scared as i am age 60. Our manqger does not want us wearing masks into patient rooms unless they are covid, but the testing is almost non existent so nobody knows who might have it. The company i work for says theatre type mask, visor for covids. N95 only for droplet procedures, not across the board. I argued with them and they said will let me wear theatre type mask all the time as i am 60. ie all the time i am at work, so they backed down a little as i said i would quit. i do not feel safe. I had a n95 on and they made me take it off. since then, i called out once, then they cancelled me next 2 shifts.

You comments are well organized and provide information that is not presented by the main stream media. I found this first so watching the interview was like the interviewer would ask a plain question of purple and doctor begins to explain the blue and the red and then how it comes to be purple. But the reporter will almost always scream purple!! In the middle of the explanation. Not realizing that you must understand red and blue to even get to purple. Doctor is too thorough for an interviewer.

Also, your updates given in common language reinforces my belief that most people can accept the truth without panicking. Frankly, your low-key empathy and clarity gives me a place to go for information that is accessible.
