I got charged an $80 fee to deactivate the tremelo on a Fender Strat prior to a consignment. White (employee) said "they didn't do any floating around there". I said Fender specks are 1/8" from the body to the saddle plate, and apparently he knew more than Leo Fender, but still he insisted It needed the claw tightened till the plate lay flat on the body. 6 turns of a Philips screwdriver for $80 bucks? Sweet job I'd say. Would have picked it up and taken it back but I was 100 miles away so I just let them screw me.
