Kuhl clothes are pretty awesome. You're starting to resemble a rather thin Santa! 🎅 The orange pack cover is genius! The copper is very interesting. I'd be willing to give it a try. Great gear and video! 😃💚👊
It's fun when you find something in your closet being underutilized. 2nd life! I did the same thing recently. I'm curious about mesh layer. Never heard of it. I'll look it up. Your cool kit is very unique. I've definitely never seen that. You look good with the winter goatee. It suites you. Keep it for the trail in February. You're going to need it! Good luck.
Comprehensive and well appointed gears. Consider Vario jacket from Outdoor Vitals, if you're in the market. My favorite mid layer jacket for in the woods as well as in the town. I'll be trying a woolnet shirt from Aclima for the first time this winter.
Nice video. I like the grandfather's clock. Pulling the turtle neck up reminded me of Bazooka Joe. I like the details that you gave about the cook system. Have you ever tried a pocket warmer that burns lighter fluid? Happy Holidays. Good Luck, Rick
Bazooka Joe! 😂 I actually have, and use, a zippo lighter fluid hand warmer. When it gets very cold I keep it with me in my sleeping bag. I’ll likely carry it through the Smoky Mountains.
@@KrizAkoni I figure that we're from the same area and era so, I can throw in a few memories when you inspire them. I preferred Juicy Fruit but read the little comics that my brother got with his bubble gum. Good Luck, Rick
Instead of those aftermarket pot lids, quite often a lid to a can of little pastry roll thngs fits. i forget the pastry name but its like a rolled panetieone
@@KrizAkoni Pirouline chocolates often fit some of the pots, and they cost like 2 bucks at walmart . you flip the lid upside down. Took me a while to figure out the name of them
1) I'm beginning to believe you are Big Bang Theory smart 🤔2) Your facial hair is looking fashionable. 3) I love the water in the pot so when it freezes it doesn't matter tip 👌
Don’t give me too much credit…I’m just a little strange around the edges. I’ll need to work through the facial hair phase…it does not feel like me, lol. 👊👊
Thanks for the update. Looking forward to you getting back out there.
I am too!
Hi Kriz. Interesting cook system I haven’t seen that one before. Look forward to seeing you out there
Thanks! It’s going to be a great perspective shift…solitude to social. Looking forward to seeing you too!
Love your thorough reviews
Appreciate it!

@@rockeastwood I hear it’s warmer down south…😏
You can get a de-piller. Cheap. For clothes and upholstery. But you deserve a new one! Heard pit zips come in handy.
Unfortunately there is enough fabric to depill, it’s super thin and the pills have voids around them. 😔
Nice job! Great tip on heating up the fuel can. New to me! Thanks!
It makes a big difference, especially in cold weather!
Thanks for the overview, happy hiking
Thank you!
Outdoor Vitals makes a good wind shirt.
I’ll have to check that one out, thanks!
We enjoyed watching this preparation video! Best wishes for all the success coming your way onto your channel!~
Thank you for the kind words! I appreciate it!
You have some great layers there. Very versatile. Also love that you use Hillsound! Better than Kahtoola. 😉
Thanks! The Hillsounds are magic…
Montbell wind jackets are my go to.
I have their rain jacket and like it a lot. I’ve not had a chance to try on a Tachyon.
Thank you.

@@NewsViewsAndTruth That’s actually a good idea. I have a couple lids like that on my alcohol setup that probably fit.

Don't hike as much or as far as I used to but still love gear... Kind of strange I guess..
Gear is fun! Gotta love playing with gear. 👊👊
Montane Featherlight (runs small)...not sure if they come with a hood...for wind jacket.
There appears to be a hooded version that is very similar in weight and features…thank you!
Nooooooo 😅 I’m trying so hard not to buy any more gear before I start 😆
