I love how Emily tries to call out Lorelai for being too emotional and letting them get the better of her even though she’s the epitome of letting emotions get the better of her
I’m so glad people recognize Emily is right. She’s unfairly villainized in this story. But she’s right, and Lorelai just proves her right later on in her relationship with Max. Re-watching in my late 20s I found myself Team Emily most of the time, and I think I’d be moreso team Emily when I had a family of my own.
I never really liked Emily, but the older I get the more I understand her and her reasoning. She could've been less cold towards Lorelai, and probably because of that coldness Lorelai overcompensates by being immature and emotional when it's least needed... but... I understand Emily so much more now.
I had to go back to this audio to question whether or not emily was pointing out chris or luke... and I totally forgot about Max. He was the first man since Chris.
