Oh my Thank you so much for taking me along with you to your Gardens. I so enjoyed every moment with you. It was a pleasure having tea and a piece of your vintage cake in the music room. What a joyful time.

Each time your new upload appears, I can breathe a sigh of relief, relax, and enjoy the content you have so carefully and thoughtfully prepared for your "extended guest list". THANK YOU! You brighten so many people's days (especially mine.)😎💯👍
Susan, you have taken the words right out of my mouth. In these uncertain times, we need to escape to the garden to 'feel' and commune with nature and to enjoy its prized bounty with lovely and loving prepared food. I, too, add my thanks to you Kevin and assure you that you are not just someone we subscribe to in a distant way but our dear friend. 🤗
@@AmethystDewMy sentiments exactly! ha ha ! I think if we had the chance we would all love to meet Kevin, I live in the U K but I still feel the kind vibes enter my heart. We as Kevin fans unite and send healing to all we can Mother Earth too! many thanks x😊

Kevin, this cream cake reminds me of my childhood. I was born and raised during the 50s & 60s. This type of cake was always enjoyed and appreciated. Simpler times, and simple pleasures. It is so good to be able to visit them again through your baking. 💌
Oh how l loooooove your beautiful house and your garden, Kevin! Your own little paradise. It's so special. Thank you for inviting us into your beautiful space. It's just so uplifting watching your videos. Very inspirational. Have a lovely weekend. Sending love and tons of blessings from South Africa.
Everything about your videos rules, but your land is so beautiful, watching you walk around with a musical interlude is a treat. It’s almost like a “character” itself in your “show”.
Kevin I love to watch your videos. You may not know this but you are just a delight to watch. With the butter nut squash and the bugs, I know how you feel. I have a large Ivy and the spiders just love it. Have tried a few things to stop them but it seems nothing is working.
I always enjoy how genuine you are, Kevin. Admitting "I could drink this batter" was so endearing. Been there! And this recipe looks delicious. Hope the squash bugs don't damage your garden any further.
Hi Kevin,I just love listening to you ,so calming..and my husband is soooo jealous...he...he..he.. Love your garden and the way you decorate your house. Your tea sets are beautiful...my grandma has beautiful tea sets too...no one bothers with cups and saucers anymore nowadays.
Thanks for this recipe Kevin. I have never tried using heavy cream instead of butter in a cake recipe. My favourite tea is Darjeeling. 😊 I love your property and your beautiful home. Greetings from Toronto 🇨🇦😊
Hi Kevin you inspire me so much. I used to just look at my china in the closet but now I am using my china more and more to prepare a lovely tea for my husband and myself. I also baked some madeleines and arranged flowers from my garden to enjoy indoors. Thanks for the motivation!❤life’s simple pleasures….

hi kevin, never commented before, but i love spending time on your channel. no matter what chaos is happening in my life, you remind me to center myself, get back to what is important to me. i don't know if that make sense to you when you read this. thank you
I was having a rough start this morning as I am recovering from surgery. I needed to relax and calm myself, so I laid down, watched your videos. You always make me feel like all is well in the world. Thank you, you really make the world a brighter place.
Your home and garden, pool etc. Is so lovely. You take such great care of it and it shows. I love the color of the shutters, very nice. Everything just whispers relaxing, tranquil notes. The dessert looks like a delicious treat. I must try. I like your idea of some pumpkin pie spice for autumn.
Thank you taking us on a walk through your beautiful garden and recipe . I look forward to seeing it all again in the fall. Love love location of the pool
OMG, I pulled the cookbook right off my shelf and found the recipe. It was not my grandmother's cookbook, it was my mom's and she has all kinds of notations within the book of the cakes she made. FYI, my mother got a kitchen aid mixer in the 1950's. I have had mine since 1986. I have fond memories as a little girl of standing on a kitchen chair and looking down into the kitchen aid bowl knowing that I got to lick the beaters when it had done its job. That same kitchen aid sits proudly displayed on a prep table in my kitchen. It provides memories of my very loving, cake-obsessed mother. BTW, I'm 63 and also in the Hudson Valley. Happy baking.
I loved the vintage recipe demonstration. It's always such a pleasure spending time in your videos with your kind demeanor, useful ideas and the fact that you never are in a hurry, going about each task with calm and decorum. Have a blessed day and weekend, Kevin, and looking forward to your next video! 😊
It's so wonderful having tea with you, dear Kevin. Thank you for these delightful moments. Fantastic recipe and lovely walk through your beautiful garden💗💗💗
Nice cake recipe. I love my hand blender. My first one lasted for decades. Now have a Cuisinart one. Sits on a container that holds the tools and cord. Love it. Remember to pinch off the basil blossoms. Darjeeling tea is my favorite. Hello from Willamette Valley Oregon.
Hi Kevin! Enjoyed the garden tour and the 1940s cake had my mouth watering! The cake brought back sweet memories of my mom. So impressed that your boxwood garden started with all saplings! You are an amazing horticulturalist! Thanks for sharing!
Such a lovely tea, Kevin!! One of my dearest friends from the late 70's always loved, as he called it, "Gee Darling" tea! I remember my Gran making that cake back in the 1950's when I'd come to stay with her, and am so glad to see it again and have the recipe! I will definitely be baking one just as soon as our weather cools down a little. Last year, July was the horrid month. This year, it's August! Our temperatures are in the mid to high 90's right now, and next week we're expecting triple digits - No baking for me until September unless I do it in the bread machine. Keeping the house cool is important, and even more so now, because I'll need to periodically take care of my chickens, by taking them cold fruits, mellon pieces, and adding large chunks of ice to their water several times during the day. It nights are above 90, they also will get a gallon jug of frozen water in their coops to keep them cooler. North Florida weather can be brutal!

I enjoy the details in your videos. I must say,the front door knob is very lovely. I am having butternut squash trouble as well. I think I planted mine in too much shade, they are not thriving. I’ve had some success with Cushaw squash this year, it is supposed to be squash bug resistant, knock on wood. It’s a large green and white striped winter squash, much like a pumpkin , but sweeter. 🌱🌱🌱🍅😀🎂

I love the idea of using pumpkin pie spice in fall. I’m all about the pumpkin! 😊 Thanks for sharing and sorry about your squash sabotage. As always, love your videos!
Kevin, my sweet husband David and I spent our childhood on the Tippecanoe River in Indiana and when I was 12 I asked him if he was going to marry me some day? He said yes! Life went on, we spent 30 years apart, and then reconnected and I've now been married 17 years to the first boy I fell in love with at 10 years old! The River's Gonna Cry when you're gone, could be our theme song! I love the music you find and share as much as the recipes! Thank you!
I love your cake and my serving never has calories! I have a Betty CROCKER COOKBOOK TOO! I I need took for it. My book is the 50th Anniversary so not sure it's in there.
