Hi LW - thanks for the question. It's really going to depend on your work, your state, and your current general liability insurer. I don't do a lot of construction, but if you'd like to arrange a call to see if I can help out, please see the link in the description box above. Thanks!
I was wondering if a sole trader / self-employed with liability insurance has its savings / assets more protected than being the sole director of a limited company used to conduct its business. Does a limited company in any case offer more protection? or also the limited company director can be sued together with Limited company itself?
If Im a luxury real estate photographer and filmmaker, who also does other creative production services, should I get General Liability insurance or E&O? I don't have any employees
As a freelance writer, I recently heard that E and O does not cover claims that happen before or after coverage, even if the piece was written during the time of coverage. If this is the case, how can freelancers ever retire and not pay for E and O anymore if ppl can just make claims after the fact? Thanks.
Good question! It's not just E&O insurance, but all claims-made policy forms. Some policies can be purchased to include "prior acts" and on the retirement part of the question, you can purchase what's known as an Extended Reporting Period or "Tail" to cover you for claims made (for prior acts) after the cancellation date. That tail can be 1,3,5, or 6 years depending on the policy
I am trying to become a mobile private swim instructor. Going to client's homes/pools and teaching children and adults how to swim. Would I fall under MPL (miscellaneous professional liability) insurance?
Good question, first of course is going to be general liability insurance. That's your biggest exposure to loss. In terms of professional you may fall into teachers misc. professional. Hope that helps!
Amazon usually has specific requirements for insurance so check with them, and for a podcast there is a Media Liability exposure commonly made part of a cyber policy for potential claims alleging a wrongful media act. Let me know if I can assist. Thanks!
You are so HELPFUL and informative!!
Thank you! Glad it was helpful :)
I’m a new construction contractor, need construction defect coverage, I believe that falls under E&O professional liability ins

Based on what you've said here, I think you need both General Liability and E&O. If you'd like to chat further about it, call me at 845-474-2924

Hi do you need liability insurance for a podcast/amazon associate seller?

I need one day ins for My event
Event insurance is something we don’t do. I’d suggest contacting your home or auto insurance agent and asking them for assistance. Thanks
