    Hello Mark-san; 🇳🇴🇯🇵
    “I am a 92 year old Japanese man in Tokyo and my family and I are big fans of your shrimp keeping style, science, knowledge and art behind your methods”
    Mr Kentaro goes on to say:
    “I am getting old now and you are one of the final TH-camrs I will watch before old age gets to me and I pass on from this mortal world to the afterlife.
    I hope this comment is never forgotten even when I am gone, when only my history remains and my flesh has gone back into the dust it was created out of.
    Thank you for all the good memories you have provided to my family watching your content over the years.
    My son has opae ula, caridinia, sulawesi and Japanese mayonnaise shrimps thanks to you”

    It's still early Saturday morning here, but happy to catch your upload! I just acquired a small countertop reverse osmosis system for my Crystals; our local water is quite hard, so far the new system's water been helping keep things stable, and the shrimps don't have to put up with me dickering with their parameters quite so often. Also, Lucy's ADORABLE!❤

      the jbl bottle says so on it. I don't remember where i saw the Sera one, but it's more than likely also sulfuric acid. You want sulfate ions/salts in the water much more than chlorid.

    Hi Mark! - in your opinion, with a healthy amount of leaf litter, would you think a well established tank running for over a year would be fine without feeding for 2 weeks? or would you advise on maybe a weekly feeding?

    • @MarksShrimpTanks
      @MarksShrimpTanks  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      feeding weekly is just for breeding, plenty of people I know have added a decent amount of leaves to the tank and went on holiday fopr a few weeks, I ve done it myself.

    Hello Mr. Mark. I'm Pio from the Philippines. I have a question regarding my shrimps.
    Is it okay to mix all different kind of colors in one big aquarium? I'm planning to set up a planted/shrimp tank. It makes me wonder if it would hurt the shrimps if I mix them all 😅

    What is the purpose of acidifying (is that a word) the water change water? Is it to improve the longevity of buffering soil so it has less work to do? From my experience RO water exposed to air acts like a sponge and 'sucks in' co2 and by doing so concerts that to carbonic acid and lowers ph. I use fulvic and humic acids in similar forms to yourself but for those specific acids as present in the shrimp natural environment rather than as a ph changer (although I appreciate that they do) Great video by the way

    • @MarksShrimpTanks
      @MarksShrimpTanks  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It should make your soil last longer because its not having to buffer new water and the longer you can keep the ph low the better for the shrimp.

    • @gbeeshrimp
      @gbeeshrimp หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MarksShrimpTanks I inadvertently do that already, but don't test the water change water's ph (ill start to) I've just always added a powdered (or liquid) humic and fulvic acids solution as per instructions on the product. They are designed for shrimp

    • @MarksShrimpTanks

      I dont do anything stability seems to be more important than tds creep, I have a friend whos tanks are in the 400 range and he breed thousands of shrimp, key is in the sparse feeding so you are not polluting the tank.
