I grew up riding C70 square light. Rode it from Kluang to Singapore on weekends. Robust engine and cheap to maintain. The foundation bike which started my biking life. Well done Farhan!

We have received feedback on why we are wearing masks. This is due to the owner's request to have them worn during the shoot.
Anyway, according to IMDA guidelines of the "RESUMPTION OF CONTENT PRODUCTIONS DURING COVID-19 (PHASE 2)"; Paragraph 5 point (b) "For companies involved in all other productions: no more than 30 personnel on location, including no more than 10 onscreen talent/performers unmasked at any given time." Putting it in layman's term, it is allowed to be unmasked during the filming of our reviews. We are not in a production for 50 personnel, hence there is no need for us to register with IMDA. There is also no "live" singing hence the 2-metre safe distancing from the next person isn't required as stated in Paragraph 5 point (c). We have further clarified this with our friends involved in the media industry.
The shooting of these vlogs are also done away from public view, the reviews are also conducted with less than 5 people. We appreciate everyone's concern and thoughts, and understand that COVID-19 is still very much a risk, even when our community cases numbers are low. I will be keeping myself updated with the ever changing rules and requirements for content production in this very trying time of ours. Please do not speculate that we broke/ignore the law as we have done our due diligence. On top of that, it will further strain the resources we have to do these bike reviews for y'all. Thank you.

This bike can easily cost around 3.9k to 4K with 10 years COE back in 2001. Now, the price for this bike is cut throat to the Max!

I wish this color scheme (black/white) was available here in the USA. If it was, I'd buy one! I had a black/white 1969 Honda 90 Cub (CM91) in high school that looked exactly like this bike! (My CM91 had the two-passenger bench seat and passenger foot pegs from the factory.)

step up, step down. thats why i sold my honda wave and got me many auto scooters 7:05. my only wish is Honda should make a bigger cc for this cub, say 300cc or more
Ahh. I see..yeah. i actually dont like kapcai cos of this weird gear configuration. I highly doubt that they would put in a 300cc engine. Wouldn't it be bulky?

Reasonable given the current COE prices and from a Singaporean context. I highly doubt the COE would be drastically reduced anytime soon.

Does it have a low resale value?
Are the modifications approved by the Land Transport Authority?
Will such modifications change the dynamics of the motorcycle since it was sold as a single-rider?
With additional pillion weight and low torque it will definitely make it difficult to climb slopes. hills, overtake other vehicles.
This costs $3k+ more than the other Class 2B bikes and there is still a need to spend money to buy aftermarket pillion seat and footpegs.
This motorcycle is impractical.
What gives?
You have to know the Honda Cub's history to appreciate such a bike. Clealy with the concerns you raise, the bike isn't for you.
Just wanted to add, I am considering this bike despite its higher price and the fact I can only get it as a grey/parallel import, due to its history. It is THE latest version of the famous Cub and there is a whole lot of history to it and many people have done cross country/continent trips with it. Because of its widespread nature, and simplicity (at least for the models before this one), that means there are a lot of mechanics who can work on them. I too am hoping to get one and do a big several-month trip, eventually.

@@tambakoverlanders a moped is like honda raider 150, honda sonic 150 or the yamaha tiara. mopeds are popular in thailand.
In the UK these kind of bikes are sometimes referred to as a moped, although by law a moped is a 2 wheel vehicle with 50cc or less, and has different licensing requirements to ride - they are still referred to as moped though! A more general and widely used term in the community for anything that's not a motorbike with a clutch lever is a "scooter" - the Cubs included. Of course these words don't matter that much as we all know, it's about the ride :D

Rode an ex5 before.. But do note that singapore model is different from malaysia model. Singapore version is high power from japan, malaysia is dream model.
