Hi Jon! I could watch your videos for days!! If you don’t mind me asking, what paints do you recommend to use and what do you like to Spray your pieces onto?
Hi Andrew, Thank you so much for watching, and for taking the time to leave these kind words and this comment, feedback, and the question I really appreciate it :) The paints I use are from the montana range, I use these because I like them :) other people like using other brands because they like them, All I would say is to try a brand and see if you like using them, like buy a black and white and 2 colours of a said brand and give them a go, then if you like them you can buy more of that brand, or if you don't then you could try another brand, This way it won't cost you much money if you don't like a said brand :) I hope this makes sense and you find it helpful Andrew :) Also, I like painting on Gloss paper but of late I'm also liking painting on canvas too :)
You just got another sub, sir. I agree with all of the comments saying that your channel is underrated and I appreciate how engaged you are in the comments section. Great job and I look forward to viewing some of your other works.

Hey great job really like it
Just a question what is the plastic that you use to make the plabets
Hi Michael, Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to leave this comment, feedback, and the question I really appreciate it :) The blue material I use are large plastic bags that I got from an old workplace, they were throwing them in a skip, so I took them, all I do with them is cut them up so they are easier to use, I don't know anything about them apart from they are a plastic bag, or where I would get any more from if I needed too. sorry, I couldn't be more helpful,
Great work.can you say what you sprayed onto the piece at the end?13:20 min.its a great piece.ive to get back to the garage soon to see if I can start spraypainting
Thx
Hi John, Sorry for the late response, Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to leave this comment, feedback, and the question I really appreciate it :) The last thing i sprayed on the painting was a clear spray paint called clear coat, hope this helps :)
Great art it's awesome, can you tell me please with caps you use for MTN cans? I have trouble with MTN original caps
Hi Andjela, Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment and feedback it's very appreciated :) also thank you for the question,
I haven't use MTN spray paint yet, but i will be trying out MTN 94 this week at some point using the stock caps that come with them to do a painting, I'll let you know how i get on using the original caps, I will probably make a video of it aswell :) , sorry i couldn't answer your question , I may be able to once i have tried them tho :)
Looks sick, is that Montana Gold paint? Do you use any of the nozzle you can buy separate?
Hi Phutto, Thank you very much for your kind words and for taking the time to leave this comment, feedback and questions i really appreciate it :) Yes it is Montana Gold, and yes, i don't use the stock cap, i use a different cap/nozzle on them :)

Amazing work! I just started during this pandemic, where do you get the plastic for texture?
Hi Ramon, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this comment feedback and question i really appreciate it :) To be honest with you i don't really know anything about the plastic bags, i got them from a workplace i used to work at they were throwing them in a skip so i took them before they went in :) sorry i could'nt be more helpful.
Beautiful John! May i ask...
What do you use for your planets? I use plates and it does not work well
Hi Dança, Thank you very much for taking the time to leave this comment, feedback and question i really appreciate it :) I get all my lids from round food tubs but you could use anything that is round with a lip on it, or you could ever cut your own circles out of card and use them :) hope this helps.

Hi Jon! You are really nice. But if i want to start painting with spray what kind of facemask have i use?
Hi Pál Pongrácz, Thank you for taking the time to leave this comment and question i really appreciate it :) I use a 3M mask which you can buy replacement filters for it, if you have a look at my supplies video i have done you will see which mask i use the link is th-cam.com/video/wQneOLGwGks/w-d-xo.html Hope this helps :)
Изумительно
Hi #ПАРА НОИК, Thank you very much for watching and for taking the time to leave this comment and feedback I really appreciate it :)
Jon, just finished watching your umpteenth tutorial, they are all so thorough mate and the results so consistently well done. Can I just ask you this, when you get the first image in your mind of roughly how you want a picture to turn out, do you always identify where your light source will be before you start creating the planets, eg shadows and highlights and the angles of rotation of each individual one, or do you rough things out before you start.
Hi Charles, Thank you very much for taking the time to leave this comment, great feedback and question it's very appreciated :) Most of the time I kind of have a idea in mind of where i want things to go and that but sometimes i just go with the flow and see where it takes me :)
This has given me such an idea. Parts of the interior of my car have been sprayed Orange, If I coat it with Black, add the plastic bag and pull it off, will I get the same effect? Does the orange need to be wet, or does there need to be a wet clear coat before applying the black? Also, is the spray acrylic?
Hi Collie, Thank you very much for taking the time to leave this comment and question it's very appreciated :) Yes the paint is acrylic based, Yes you should get a similar effect has the one i did , but when i did it the paint was wet before i put the black on, yes i used some clear coat to wet it back up, but i have never done it with the layer dry then adding the black on top so wouldn't know how well it work or if the effect would be the same but i hope this helps :)
@@JonBarberArt Great thanks, I will do some test pieces, on dry and on wet clear coat and report how they go. If I can get glow in the dark acrylic Ill start from scratch and do that black effect over glow in the dark.
What type of paper do you use and what are those round circles used to make the planets. Where can I buy both of them thank you great video
Hi Carl, Thank you for taking the time to leave this comment and question i really appreciate it :) The paper i use is glossy card which i got from a paper supplier and the round circles are the lids from food tubs hope this helps :)
Jon Barber Art great thank you
No problem Carl, Happy to help :)
What do you use for your stencils? I use bucket lids but sometimes it leaves a shadow ring around the planet
Hi Slaxker, Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to leave this comment and question I really appreciate it :) I use lids from old food tubs hope this helps :)
Are you just using the stock caps on those paint cans? Or something different? Are the paint cans you’re using believed to be the best for this style of art? Like making planets and such?
Hi Alec, Thank you very much for watching, and for taking the time to leave this comment and the questions, I really appreciate it :) No i'm not using the stock caps that comes with the cans, I really like using the brand of paint i use, that's why i use it :) The best paint cans are the ones that you find and like the best, It's all down to what you prefer to use, some people say one said brand is better and other people say others are better to use that's because they prefer that brand over others, hope this helps :)
@@JonBarberArt what caps do you use? And are all caps compatible with all cans?
What spray can do you use?
And what are you spraying on?
Hi Alec, I use skinny caps, No not all caps will fit there are 2 types of caps (male and female caps) I'm using Spray paint from the montana range and for this one i am painting on glossy paper, hope this helps :)
Ma se vorrei acquistare un quadro di questi, lo venderesti 😍
Hi Dario, Thank you for taking the time to leave this comment and question i really appreciate it :) I will be , once i have things sorted out :) Hope this helps :)
Can u tel me the type of plastic that you used to peel some of the paint off and what use sprayed on top at the end
Hi Elisa, Thank you very much for watching and for taking the time to leave this comment and question I really appreciate it :) The blue plastic is large plastic bags that were going to be throw in a skip at somewhere I used to work years ago, so I took them, and all I do is cut them up so they are smaller and easier to use, I don't know anything about them or where I would get any more from apart from they are very large plastic bags, sorry I couldn't be more helpful about that, and the spray I used at the end was a clear spray paint which is called clear-coat :)
What is the clear coat you used before you put the black layer down?
Hi Chase, Thank you very much for taking the time to leave this comment and question it's very appreciated :) The clear coat i used was from the montana range hope this helps :)
What’s the stuff you put on at the end also you helped me make my first ever spray paint art so I just wanna day thanks
Hi Brennan, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this comment and question it's much appreciated :) The last thing i use on the painting was a clear coat spray paint, Hope this helps :) It's also nice to hear that i inspired to make your first spray paint art, Are you enjoying painting with it?
Jon Barber Art I am very much it keeps me occupied in the quarantine and it keeps my mind off the other things that usually come to my mind when I don’t do anything
Yes it's good way of taking your mind of things, just go out pick some cans up and paint something :)
Jon Barber Art it’s just kinda hard to get good paper at this point in time because Walmart is only selling essentials but my awesome neighbors gave me spray paint when my dad posted on face book that I do spray paint art now
This is so amazing man! I’ve done a few pieces myself and I’m going to have to give this a try!! Keep up the great work buddy!
Hi Ocean, Thank you so much for the kind words and for taking the time to leave this comment and great feedback I really appreciate it :) How you finding it are you enjoying painting with spray paint?
Jon Barber Art anytime brother, I’ve wanted to get into this for a couple years now and I’ve finally got the foot in the door. I love it, Ive always had an artsy background but mainly with music. I enjoy spray paint art, it’s u inquest and different and not one painting is always the same.
Yes it is , Glad to hear you love it and are enjoying it Ocean :)
Jon Barber Art after you cover the planets and then make the colours for the nebula, can you let that paint dry before coating it all in black and using the bag technique? I’ve been getting the ring around the edge and I’ve even let the planets paint dry before covering them
Hi Ocean, no i don't let the black dry because if you leave it to dry then the paint won't come off to make the texture has its dried to much hope this helps :)
What kind of spray paint are you using, at the end of the art for its glow?
Hi Alpha, Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to leave this comment and question I really appreciate it :) The last thing i sprayed on the painting was a clear spray paint which is called clear coat, Hope this helps :)

Hi Pavle, Thank you so much for the kind words and for taking the time to leave this comment i really appreciate it :) Hopefully it will get more in time :)
Hey, quick question. How far away are you holding the can from the board the spraying? When I try to use the paper technique, everything just smooshes together and is doesn’t come out well. I think I might be putting to much paint, but I don’t know.
Hi Iggy, Thank you for taking the time to leave this comment and question i really appreciate it :) You may be putting down to much paint or too many layers , try just spraying a light coat of each colour and then pull the paint off to make your texture :) hope this helps.
The sad part is a rich guy would rather pay 20 mill for a red line on a white canvas.
Hi Suzanne, Thank you very much for taking the time to leave this comment i really appreciate it :) Yes i know what you mean :)
Whats that "non-color" spray you put at the painting at the end?
Hi Raul, Thank you for taking the time to leave this comment and question i really appreciate it :) The paint i used at the end is a clear coat hope this helps :)
What caps do you use to cover the ice and fire circles?
Hi Specter , Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment and question , I just used plastic food tub lids to cover the planets up :) hope this helps :)
What kind of paper are you using to lay over and peel up.. Thank You..
Hi Benjamin, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this comment and question i really appreciate it :) To be honest with you i don't really know anything about the plastic bags, i got them from a workplace i used to work at they were throwing them in a skip so i took them before they went in :) sorry i couldn't be more helpful.

Hi Jose, Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to leave this comment, and the questions I really appreciate it :) The paper i use is glossy paper, the colours i used can be any shades of blue, red, orange, and yellow, some round objects for the planets, and something to make the texture with like plastic bags, newspaper, magazine paper etc hope this helps :)
What was the last can you sprayed at the end?
Hi Carlos, Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to leave this comment, and the question I really appreciate it :) The last thing i sprayed on the painting was a clear spray paint which is called clear coat, i use it to give the painting a layer of protection, hope this helps :)

Can someone tell me what brand do artist use to make the fire finish.
Clear coat rustoleum
Louise Heynes thank you
Hi Aye , Thank you for the comment and question, I have used montana clear coat on it, Just one thing to keep in mind is that different makes of clear coat might react with the spray paint you are using if they are both different makes :)
Thank you Louise :) :)
if i had 1 million dollars i would spend so much on his art
Hi Osgood, Thank you very much for your kind words and for taking the time to leave this comment i really appreciate it :)
Does anyone have suggestions on what covers to use because any of the ones i uses there’s always a heavy black line
Hi Andrew, Thank you very much for watching and for taking the time to leave this comment and question I really appreciate it :) Is the black ring on the planet where the lip of the lid was sitting? Or is the black ring around the edge of the planet on the outside of where your lid stencil was? also do you use colours in the background and around your lids when they are still on the painting? Let me know if its any of these, so i can help you better :)
I love what you did but you did go a bit heavy on the stars, another thing is the black lines you had over the red and blue I the middle I feel like they cover up a lot of the colors
Hi StarrySkiezz, Thank you for taking the time to leave this comment, feedback it's really appreciated :) Yes i did go a bit to much with the stars, thought that when i finished the painting. I like the middle the colours show up more in real life :)
I hope ur doing well in life😊
does anybody know what type of bag he is using to make the textures? I am new to this I'm just using newspaper but I want to use what he's using

Very nice shit bro

Without the yellow it's much better I think
Hi Rester, Thank you for taking the time to leave this comment, feedback and suggestion i really appreciate it :)
TODOROKI
Hi, Thank you for taking the time to leave this comment it's really appreciated :)
I love the image, but I think you went alittle too far with the stars. There are just too many. It kind of takes away all the color from the blues and reds, and kind of "masks" them in that white. Also, that big one in the center. Its alittle too much in my opinion. I think the image would be fine without it. It draws your eye away from the amazing planets and color and makes you stare at a big white star. Amazing work and plz keep making more.
Hi Ivan, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this comment, feedback and suggestions it's really appreciated :) Yes i did go a bit to much with the stars, thought that when i finished the painting , Also i think i should of added a bit of colour to the big star to tone it down a bit rather then it just being bright white :)
@@JonBarberArt I'm glad you didn't take offense to my comment. If I was a buyer, what I told you would have thrown me off from buying such an amazing art piece. Do you sell your piece online or a store at all?
No problem it was a good suggestion :) Yes it could put some people off from buying , I could always paint a painting again if there was something to change on it or add too it :) At the moment im not selling any sorry, but I should be selling some of my paintings soon, once i have everything in place :)
@@JonBarberArt That's awesome. I might just buy, Really love your art.
Cool and once again Thank you :)
Could you move your hands a bit more while you talk? There's not enough movement
Hi Abdo, Thank you for taking the time to leave this comment. Yes sorry about the hands :( It was a bit of a habit i had , talking with my hands :( I have stopped now, waving my hands around at the start in my new video's.
@@JonBarberArt It really didn't bother me dude, I was just trying to be funny but I just came off as rude. I apologize mate. I love your channel and don't change for anyone except yourself.
It's ok, no problem at all , I wanted to just explain to you why i had done it, think it was a bit of mistake moving my hands about but you learn from your mistakes :)
Montana’s to do this? Why? Lol. Waste of money. Rustos are cheaper and better
Hi Ron Con, Thank you for taking the time to leave this comment it's much appreciated :) Because Montana are cheaper then rusto where i live.
Jon Barber Art really? I have heard that these low pressure cans are cheaper than warehouse paint in areas in Europe. Makes sense tho, keep up the good work
Yes Ron all of the hardware store paint that i have seen or looked at is more then what i can buy Montana for. Also thank you for the feedback i really appreciate it :)
Jon Barber Art 👊🏽 you got an instagram? I’ll give you a follow, I do graff
Hi Ron yes i do it's jonbarberart :)
