    Black and white is always so beautiful.
    Even in comparison to a colour painting, with tons of detail, this black and white one takes the prize.

      @@JonBarberArt Thanks for responding! I am an artist of many styles and mediums. Most of my psychedelic art is in the digital realm, I do some graffiti and started doing aresol art two years ago. I prefer to do space scenes when I work in the aresol medium but I'm trying to incorporate my graffiti and some of my geometric art in with it using stencils. I am trying to use the graffiti and the geometric designs in the foreground and then using planets and nebulas etc for the background. How long have you been doing aerosol art?

      No problem Thomas, I have been doing aerosol art for 25 months now and really enjoy it :) Cool i also really enjoy painting space scenes ,I've never done any digital art but some of the stuff I've seen looks very cool, I think that they would work well together the geometric designs in front of a spray painted backgrounds.

      Yes we have :) I really like using the Montana spray paints , I normally just use skinny caps all the time but the cap got clog up when i was doing the background in this one so i just grab the first cap to hand to finish the background off :)

    This is the third video of yours I have watched tonight - inspirational is an understatement.
    Can I ask:
    1. how do you remember where the caps / lids were originally, or does it not matter so much because you paint outside the lines and replacing them in the general area will work as you fill in the rest of the art work?
    2. Would it matter if the paint dried after the initial planet painting, before you put the caps + lids back on to paint the rest of the piece? I am guessing it would be fine, because you have already done the plastic crinkle / pull / smudge for the planet texture, and everything after that is outside the planet boundary, but wanted to confirm.
    Thanks for the videos - I feel like I am learning a lot.

    • @JonBarberArt
      @JonBarberArt  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Aaron, Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to leave this comment, feedback and the question, I really appreciate it :) To be honest you don't have to place the lids back exactly where the outline was as long as you have some shadow and highlight area under the the lid it's fine :) You want the paint to be dry before placing the lid stencils on because the lids will stick to the wet paint a may leave a ring on your planet where the lid sat , hope these answers help :)

    Quick question. I noticed you didn’t let the paint dry before you put the covers back on. Any reason for this ? In other videos you say to make sure it dries first

    • @JonBarberArt
      @JonBarberArt  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi User, Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to leave this comment, and question, it’s really appreciated :) sometimes you can go right ahead a place the stencils on without letting it dry, depends how much paint has been put down, with black and white painting you don't put much down, also you kind of get to know over time if you need too let it dry or not :)

    hey there, recently tried this as a first time art project and it turned out wondderful, only problem was my white spray paint seems to be coming out watery and thats also like repelling the black paint. they are both the same brand and ive shaken them well everytime. any insight would be super helpful. TIA

      Hi PNWDabDaVinci, Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to leave this comment and question I really appreciate it :) Glad to hear that your art project turned out wonderful :) What spray paint are you using? It may be that you are spraying out to much paint so when you add a colour on top of it like white it will kind of repel/separate from the one that is already down, and look kind of watery, or it could be just the paint that is a bit thinner/watery, Hope this helps :)

      @JonBarberArt  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Klayman, Thank you for taking the time to leave this comment and question i really appreciate it :) It really depends on the weather to how long the paint takes to dry but could be anything between 10 to 30 minutes hope this helps :)

    •  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JonBarberArt okay I was talking about how long to wait before you put the lids on. Sorry. Should've explained it better.

    • @JonBarberArt
      @JonBarberArt  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Ah right ok :) It's also depends on the weather and how much paint you put down to make the planets with, I like to leave mine to dry normally before putting the stencils anything between 10 and 30 minutes but in this one i didn't but by the time i had done all the planets the 1st ones were drying already , if the paint is not dry enough before you put the stencils on it may leave rings around your planets where the lid stencils pull some of the paint off when you lift them off again Hope this helps :)
