    At 0:16, the second illustration (isomer) shows the methyl group on Carbon #2, not Carbon #4. The longest continuous carbon chain should be numbered so the that the branch is given the lowest number designation. This carbon chain should be numbered from right to left.
    (Sorry if this has already been mentioned. I have. not read all the comments.)

    The 6th constitutional isomer needs numbering for C as i must be doing it wrong and counting more than 4 C. So is it 1 C at each end of the double bond and 2 at the lateral tails to =4‽

    I dont understand how plugging n=4 into the formula of 2n+ 2 that ends up equaling 10 means everything has a single bond?

  • @sincerelymayyx
    @sincerelymayyx 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi, can you explain how the last one is an isomer if C4H8? Wouldn’t it be in total of carbon bonds be 6?

    • @ergar90
      @ergar90 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a double bond. Just imagine a carbon on the right and a carbon on the left that are double bonded, and then two more carbons branching out from the left one.

      @@melissamaribel yes its your unique style. And i love it. But i can assume, to make this 6 min video it took you hours and lots of efforts and then few extra hours for editing stuff. Isn't it a long process when you can just directly do what i suggested i saw your previous videos of about month old you have done it without papers and they all been great Videos! Like this one th-cam.com/video/_ZIa6SEJEyg/w-d-xo.html
      Just a advice it will save paper and you can provide us with more lessons in less time. Btw its your channel, your style, you can do what you like. 👍🙂

    4:44 why is it when the two carbons are cis to each other and not trans is it not a stereoisomer? shouldn't it be a stereoisomer since the molecular formula hasn't changed but the 3d arrangement has?
