    Thanks so much for the great video. My wife and I honeymooned in Yosemite so it has a special place in our hearts. We recently took delivery of our R1T here in Washington state where we live now. We just celebrated our 50th anniversary and hope to recreate some special memories in our Rivian. Thanks for making our memories live again.

    Wow ❤ thank you so much for this. I live in Italy and we don’t get the Rivian yet here but it surely is my dream car for the future.
    Seeing these videos is like a little taste of being around in incredible nature with the car, thank you for making these and sharing your adventures with the world.

    Your production quality is way better than most TH-camrs. Do you have a background in video production?

      Thanks! I actually don’t - just been photographing cars as a hobby for awhile and practicing with the drone on some previous adventures 👍🏻

    Honestly the most impressive part of all of this was that you stopped at ANY Electrify America chargers and they worked. I’ve yet to find any EA installations where 7/8 of the chargers aren’t broken and the one remaining one is capped at 35kW. EA is an utter disaster zone around here. So bad that we can’t rely on them so we can’t do much in the way of road trips. Sucks so badly. I’ve had to flatbed out EV back from half-finished road trips a couple of times because the junk EA chargers were broken and we were beyond half-range so we couldn’t get back.

      That sounds super frustrating! I use an app called PlugShare quite a bit and would definitely recommend using it to find good charging stations. It allows you to sort by their 1-10 rating system(based on actual peoples reviews)and generally the chargers with 7 and above have worked well for me👍🏻

    • @chrislonghurst
      @chrislonghurst 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ChargeOverland I use PlugShare too. If you look at the ratings for the EA chargers around Utah, Colorado and Nevada, it’s pretty grim. 😔

      @@chrislonghurst Well that’s a bummer - hopefully the charging network improves over time!

    Dope video and info. I didn’t know they had Rivian chargers inside Yosemite. Do you need to stay the lodge to use them? Keep up the quality content!

    • @ChargeOverland
      @ChargeOverland  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think the chargers are open to anyone during the day👍🏻 Not sure if the lodge checks for parking permits overnight though

    Did you have any issues with no chargers available? I went up there in my old Tesla and needed to charge at the hotel using 110v from their ice machine 😢. Found I had range anxiety up there; didn’t want to drive too far because I was worried I couldn’t make it back to the hotel, with such a weak charging rate - couldn’t replenish what I was using during the day.
    I am very hesitant to take my rivian, which though a larger battery, makes the 110v even more painful to use.

    • @ChargeOverland
      @ChargeOverland  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I didn’t have any issues with availability of chargers but I was also there during the week and not on a weekend so probably wasn’t as busy

    Where you able to use Driver+ much during your drives? Adaptive Cruise Control / Lane Centering?

    • @ChargeOverland
      @ChargeOverland  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes! Most of the highway driving I was able to use Highway Assist👍🏻

  • @adan7182

    Why was the charging free? Would be interested in the normal cost of the trip

    • @ChargeOverland
      @ChargeOverland  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’ve noticed the Electrify America stations sometimes are free if they aren’t charging at the speed they are supposed to. The Rivian chargers are free if you have a Rivian so the total cost of this trip was around $50 and likely would’ve been around $65-$70 if that last Electrify America station wasn’t free👍🏻
