"suffering a brutal knockout must suck, especially in a line of work like mma" - I would argue suffering a brutal knockout would be worse in a line of work like selling shoes, where you really weren't expecting it in the workplace

The way O'Malley has handled the loss is considerably more damaging than the loss itself. He's reminding me of Luke rockhold, he needs to just take the loss and move on.

People keep saying he has twigs for legs, or Chito is just too powerful. I think it was unlucky pressure Sean put on his foot along with precision from Chito. Nobody could've saw it coming, but Sean's right foot has been in trouble before, so you should consider that.. I think if it were his other leg it would've been less tragic.

I'm very selective in which MMA fighters I follow, I think Poirier was the first I commited to following from a loss way back when, I was already a fan but his 'be grateful/ be graceful' speech was truly a powerful moment in my life.
It's not just how you fight, it's how you carry yourself as a human being, we are ALL fallable, we can ALL make mistakes, we can ALL be bettered by someone else on a given day.
True inspiration, true champions, show us how to get back up on our feet and even then sometimes it just does not work out, a warrior does not ignore that noise but try to challenge it.
Though not a practitioner myself, martials arts, to me, has always been about respect, in victory and defeat. Just stepping in the cage commands respect.
I get maintaining an ego while an active fighter, I totally get it, but in the years to come, if humility does not show itself, I just cannot respect lofty accomplishments.

oh and using PED's, in this modern age of combat, you will very likely never have respect from myself. If everyone is doing it, no problem, but potentially ending a competitiors career from cheating is just down right disgusting and should be treated as a criminal action.

    I have a video suggestion
Fighters who can do no wrong ( fan favourites and carry themselves with utmost class)
    Eg: Robbie Lawler
    Stephen Thompson
    Dustin Poirier

When you lose to someone you look down to it can produce two different results. Either you Become extremely humble and never underestimate others or you call it a Fluke to try to heal your shattered Ego 🤷🏻‍♂️

Usually the latter for high performing athletes though because they're around so many Yes Men especially in an individual sport like MMA
It's the sad reality of it all but look at a vast majority of Champions or highly promoted fighters whenever they lose (Ronda, Joanna, TJ, Brock Lesnar, Rampage when he was younger etc.)
And I get it you need to have that mindset that you're unbeatable but it can also backfire on you as well
Not saying that all fighters are like this but a vast majority who are highly promoted or are champions for a while are

The former reminds me of GSP's loss to Matt Serra. He openly said he didn't train as hard as he should and took the whole thing easy cause he undersstimated Serra. His loss was an eye opener to never do that again

Lewis Ngannou. Romero at least landed some power shots in round 1 and round 5. Lewis Ngannou nothing for 15 minutes

Nate quarry vs Kaleb starns was the worst. Starns literally ran for 3 rounds. I don't even remember him landing a single punch. Just ran. Quarry actually chased him doing some funny movement with his arms. That fight was the worst
