      I use cement to make my trays. It's not easily breakable, but if you drop it, it may break. Thank you so much for watching 🫶

    I bought a cement tray online which came broken, is there any way to repair it?

    • @joolieshome

      Oh no, that’s disappointing! I haven’t tried fixing a broken one, but I wonder if super glue/gorilla glue would fix it? The only pain point I can forsee is having to sand the area after demolding. It’ll probably be challenging to match the seams exactly where it broke to get a smooth finish. Also, the glue might not hold so this may be a temporary fix. Wish I could offer more help, but hope something works out for you!

    • @joolieshome

      oh no! That sounds frustrating :( I haven't used white cement before, but I wonder if it could be the water to cement ratio? When my cement-all mixture is too watery, I notice they are more brittle, but again I'm not too sure with white cement.

    I have one doubt. Why this tray is called concrete. But it is made from cement right

    • @joolieshome

      I can see your point. I think in the DIY space, cement and concrete are used interchangeably, but there are differences in the material. I'm not an expert at distinguishing the 2, but cement is an ingredient of concrete. I apologize if the title is misleading.

    • @joolieshome

      If you drop it, depending on the way it lands, they can break. This is a good question though, I may do a drop test on my concrete pieces just to see :)

    • @joolieshome

      If you brush the mold with some concrete before you pour (what I did around 4:20) it'll help reduce air bubbles! It works really well for me :) Hope that helps!

      I used the Rustoleum matte clear sealant in the video, but it left an uneven finish. I've had better results with Mod Podge matte clear acrylic sealer. Heres the link to amazon :amzn.to/40j6YCN, but you can also purchase it at most craft stores. Thank you so much for watching!

    I think it's better to use pigment for cement instead of acrylics. I believe it's not that expensive(at least where I live)

    • @joolieshome

      I agree! Pigments that are made to color cement are the best option, but there’s a limited range of colors in my market and are costly. So a $1 bottle of acrylic paint is what I started with :) Maybe I’ll try cement pigments one day! Is there a brand you recommend?

    • @dclua

      @@joolieshome Hello! No worries, I'm actually learning from a bunch of videos like yours! I saw many peep using cement pigments with a bigger color payoff, so I thought maybe you needed that. I'm from Peru though, not sure if they carry the same brands :_: (We call it here "ocre", the brand Bayer seems popular)

    • @joolieshome
