As a lifelong diehard Metallica fan, this is the greatest cover of any of their songs I've heard.
Seems that the tempo is pretty similar. Country cover describes it correctly. I love it! Yes Metallica was very pleased with his cover. Thank you peace ✌️
Oh I'm here to hear this wow. Man Chris has a dang great ROCK side especially in the music he did when part of the JOMPSON BROS .they did some songs for the tv series and my fav of all time show S.O.A.

I've heard this before and it is VERY GOOD. I was hoping he would play it at his concert I went to, but no. Still a fantastic concert.
It's definitely a Chris Stapleton cover. It does come across as a country type version but weirdly it comes across as a darker version.

My suggestion, if you do the Metallica version (which you definitely should), do the official video. It's a video of them recording the song in the studio. It adds to it imo.

I agree. And even the studio version of Miley's cover is exceptional. And I'm not even a Miley Cyrus fan. But her take on this song absolutely kicks ass.
When you do a cover you are supposed to make it your with original roots . Do not try to just copy the original.

Much better than the original and idc who disagrees. Metallica shoulda changed their name when they got their haircuts. The black album was no more metal than any average rock album.
