  • This is one of the best ways to see Queenstown’s surrounding landscape - a cruise across Lake Whakatipu aboard the iconic century-old coal-fired steamship, the TSS Earnslaw.
The TSS Earnslaw has been lovingly maintained since 1912 and is an iconic piece of Queenstown's history. You can explore the vessel, view the engine room, and study the historic displays of the steamship's former life.
The trip will take you across the lake, past the Remarkables mountain range and Cecil Peak, to Walter Peak High Country Farm. Enjoyed the famous gourmet long lunch and then a sunset cruise back to Queenstown Bay.

As a family, my partner & our 2 children aged 3yrs & 4yrs, set off from the UK on the 5th September 2010, we travelled around the world for 7 months. In February 2011 we spent a few days in Queenstown & went on the TSS Earnshaw to Walter Peak farm for a delicious BBQ & watched the sheep being Shawn. The gentleman shearing the sheep & calling them Shawn was throughly entertaining. On the way back a lady played the piano & we all had a sing song to the oldies, such as “We’ll meet again, don’t know where, don’t know when” The day was wonderful & a truly memorable experience on our world trip. A thoroughly relaxing & entertaining day which should not be missed. I hope to do it again one day.
