This song was the perfect ending to Friday the 13th:Jason Takes Manhattan. Actually gave the movie a good happy ending. I was ready for the next Friday the 13th movie. Good music can really make a movie, but it doesn't always have to be rock 'n' roll or rap. This song by Metropolis was fitting for this film.
This song fits the movie perfect! Anytime i hear this i think of the movie. Jason takes manhattan was so underrated. Don't know why it was ridiculed so much. It's one of my faves in the series
Completely agree. Most versions used in film are studio edits. This was especially common in the 1980s and into the 1990s. It sounds more raw and authentic.
yeah i was a die hard old skoolie friday the 13 junkie along with others of that era...nuttin like 80s and 90s movies and tunes....YES i just turned 30 too...glad i know all the old school fkn a yeah.....RIGHT!
60's 70's 80's and early 90's were great. They had good movies, and an insane amounts of good music. After the early 90's, someone took a big shit and splattered it all over the rest of the 90's. The shit smelled so bad that the good music and the good movies went away, and once in a while, a good movie or a good song come out. It's good to see that some people can still produce good stuff.
this is best song for a jason movie beside man behind the mask i wish horror movies were more like this.the only decent horror movies nowadays are the saw movies.i hope the new friday the 13th is like parts 1-8
makes me think of when i was kid goin down to the store to repeatively rent the same stuff over and over again and never got sick of them...i knew technology would get better and then bang dvd's and everything got so much better..kids dont realize how easy it is to copy stuff now and find,,,all we had back then was tape and analog....long live the tv;s with the big knobs click click NOT lol
I think its just so you can here a cool rare song. The video itself isn't the focus, it's the music, and the poster can also use it as a profile picture.
I guess that was the appeal of the whole film. "Hey! The next Jason movie is gonna take place in New York! Awesome! Jason vs gangs and cops!" You're right though, I was pretty disappointed that they were in NY for such a short time.
john70jake i agree but freddy is supernatural also ,a dream demon.but jason seems unstoppable especially since jason has been to hell, blown up ,and to space and he still returns. jason is a ghost
Song is awesome. Everytime I'm in NYC I think of this song. And if anyone wants the full songs "Animal" and "He's Back(movie end credits)" from Part 6, I have it.
The Darkest Side of the Night burns like a fire for the wasted life and theres no way you can fight just show some respect and try to survive on The Darkest Side
The movie sucked (save for the last 10-15 minutes) but this song was awesome! Actually, I change my mind. This isn't as bad as JGTH and I like it better than JX.
@JasonLives666 untell paramount gave it away they did not want to make another friday movie ever so new line tryed hell I like freddy vs jason that happen but I do love that paramount did the best they could with these movies god there was so many of them.
Long live ALL Friday movies. This song brings me back instantly. Jason 5 and 8 were the two worst ones outta the original 8, but no need to rip on any jason movie. 80s movies were the best, jason movies were the best, and this song fuckin rocks! thanks for posting
HAPPY SOON TO BE BIRTHDAY JASON. SORRY I COULDNT GET YOU A PRESENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. ^.^. i hate to say this but i think jason was kind of cute in part 3
@PokeyBessie Agreed wholeheartedly. New Line had no idea what to do with the series besides giving it shitty gimmicks. Paramount at least took care of Jason.
ahhh where to start on friday the 13th....they so screwed up on this movie and on all of the others after it..except for FVJ but it still was what i thought it would be
80s rock and horror movies was the best things for that era
100 percent
What I wouldn't give to wake up & it just be 1988-1990 again.....where does the time go?
Most relatable comment i've ever read...
Absolutely and WWF

I used to love listening to this in the car! Good times.
This really wraps up the original eight films nicely. Those are untouchable classics.
I love this song. Man, music back in the day felt more real. Compare to the crap that's being released today.
nuthin compares to good movies songs like back then,,makes me miss the times when life was so different damn
I really love the movie version song, because it has a few seconds more of that guitar solo than the original recorded version.
Same :)

I guess that was the appeal of the whole film. "Hey! The next Jason movie is gonna take place in New York! Awesome! Jason vs gangs and cops!" You're right though, I was pretty disappointed that they were in NY for such a short time.

sent the email. I also have "He's Back" from part 6. This is the movie version playing on the end credits, not the LP.
actually, the guitar solo is longer in this, the shorter version of the song (by about 10 seconds)
100% agree
I Like this song, friday the 13th part viii : jason takes manhattan is the best!
