This song means so much to me as I remember taking a trip to an old fashioned altar of prayer while stationed in Oklahoma City, OK. Jesus became so real to me on that Easter Sunday morning so many years ago!
Hinsons, coming back to life. What a relief. I love the sound, the style and the message. No one does it better than Kenny Hinson. Any chance we get some "New" old clips? Gosh I am in Heaven with these clips.
it's frustrating to hear folks say Kenny may have or was probably the best. that's insane - he was THE BEST. No one argues that Elvis was the King of Rock and Roll, or Dylan the king of folk, or Cash the king of Cool, or Michael Jackson the king of Pop, everyone should give Kenny his due. He is THE BEST voice and personality in ALL of country - Christian or Secular, period!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I knew Kenny personally. He was an amazing person! I have spent my life trying to mix his style into my own vocal performances. I am close, but there's only one Kenny!
WOW, These videos bring back lots of memories. They were in their hayday then....I was obsessed with them, their band, Kenny's voice. I would record audio cassettes of them in concert and I still have many of them. I've justed started listening to them again recently. So sad of Kenny's untimely death. Thanks for this. I would LOVE to get a copy of your dvd or video.
I'm apart of the mercy ridge band and we do alot of the Hinsons material..... I feel in love with his voice and his music from the first day I heard it..... we can be seen on here singing some of there songs..
i dont no who has these kind of videos of the hinsons but if u got more then u need to put them on here, kenny hinson was and still is the best singer of country gospel
No disrespect intended but trust me your uncle, my uncle, nor anybody else's uncle, could sing this song or any other song like Kenny Hinson!! This man could sing the phone book.
How precious are the memories, of the places that I've had the chance to see, So many scenes and wonders I recall. Other countrys different towns, You might say I've been around, But there's still one place that means the most of all. (chorus) I took a trip to the altar, That old fashioned altar, I can still feel the teardrops as they fall, Many kinds of earthly splendor, sometimes I can't remember, But that old fashioned altar still means the most of all. You can climb the Eifel Towe Or you can pick Hollands tulip flowers, In the spring, Or you can marvel at the ruins of ancient Rome, But would you take this Christian step, the greatest part of any trip, is when a weary sin sick traveler is comin' home. (chorus) I've went to Chicago by going west to Oregon and Washington first. I've seen my daughter cry because I couldn't give her the big cookie in the sky, which of course was the moon, but to my daughter who was a little more than a year old, it was so big and looked so good she really wanted it. I've seen Chicago so piled with snow that we had to pull in both mirrors to meet another truck. I've seen the splendor of Garden of the Gods and wondrous stalagmites and stalactites of Tennessee's caverns. I 've seen the Rocky mountains and the Atlantic Ocean. I've seen great trees fall down like they were matchsticks. but the greatest trip I took was through the pages of Your word. That trip took from unbelief to belief. That trip kicked doubt out the door and ushered in faith. That trip led me straight to You.
I'm loving you more and more...I love the original Hinsons,,,saw them in person before Kenny died....have all of their early stuff but it is on cassette? Well you see, they were thise little...oh never mind...lOL
Precious footage. Too bad the camera operator didn't have a clue how to run a camera. All that zooming in and out only kept the shots of Kenny all blown out/overexposed.
I don't like this version I like how my Great Uncle's gospel group that he sings it I think when they do it again that I will record it and put it up here
who ever put this video on u tube needs to put some more of the great kenny hinson on here,he was and still is the most awsome and gifted singer of all time, and if u dont beleive me just listen to some of there songs and u will be hooked
This may be raw footage, but there's no fault in Kenny and the rest of the Hinsons, I've had preachers tell me, well we want someone professional or someone with quality. Preachers like that, I can do without. Thank you Lord for this group. It's like a present from Heaven. God Bless You, Gwen
I have had Weston and his family at our church and had the priviledge of singing The Lighthouse with them. They have been my favorite group since I was a child and never dreamed I would ever get to sing a song with them. Very anointed people.

Hinsons were the best of all times. No one can match Kenny at any time.
Love this!
I like this style singing and a good song

I miss those days.
You are right! No one can be Kenny Hinson or really even close. He was the geatest!
I love anointed singing. The hinsons were anointed of God. They bless me everyone.
My 2 favorite singers gone to Heaven: Kenny Hinson and George Jones.
No disrespect intended but trust me your uncle, my uncle, nor anybody else's uncle, could sing this song or any other song like Kenny Hinson!! This man could sing the phone book.

I think what the user meant was... Its not the "New Hinsons". This is, in fact, Vintage Hinsons. The original songs/sound.
I'm loving you more and more...I love the original Hinsons,,,saw them in person before Kenny died....have all of their early stuff but it is on cassette? Well you see, they were thise little...oh never mind...lOL
There is a group from Kentucky who sings a few Hinson cover songs...there name is Unity singers
Awsome memories. I've always loved this song. But the camera operator here had severe ADD. He was all over the place with that zoom lens. lol

I THANK THE GOOD LORD ABOVE THAT I HAD THE PRIVILEGE OF SEEING THE HINSONS SEVERAL TIMES. LOVE YOU KENNY!
His son, Weston, is the closest I've heard. Check him out singing :Call me Gone". I sat here and cried like a baby, hearing Kenny through him.
I have had Weston and his family at our church and had the priviledge of singing The Lighthouse with them. They have been my favorite group since I was a child and never dreamed I would ever get to sing a song with them. Very anointed people.
Kenny looks really tired in this video. He was the best.
We didn't really know how good we had it when we had him or them!
