If you decide to run another can of 44K be sure to add it on an empty tank at the gas station and fill up the tank after pouring it. The purpose is to make sure the additive gets mixed-in with the fuel as much as it can. (It's also labeled in the instructions). With that high of mileage I would definitely recommend multiple treatments to see if it yields better results over time. Typically you would want to use something like this consistently over the life of the vehicle to help prevent the build-up to begin with as it's not likely a miracle tonic will remove all that carbon build-up. Like you mentioned in another comment, "Not all customers experience the same result" and that is 100% true of everything. What works for one person wont necessarily work for another even under the same conditions. All I can say is that it definitely cleaned my injectors on a 95 Saturn SC2. We did a partial rebuild of the engine and everything was machined/cleaned before the engine was built but, due to costs, we used the same injectors and fuel system. Before the rebuild I was getting 19mpg, after the rebuild I was getting about 26mpg and finally after two treatments of 44K I was getting 36mpg. I tried to get the most mileage I could out of my driving at the time because gas was over $4/gallon back then and approaching $5/gallon.
The first time I tried BG 44k my tank was nearly empty and I poured the whole can into the gas tank. I let the car idle for about an hour. After that I drove the car normal all the way to the gas station. I went and filled up my gas tank and WOW! What a difference! So far I'm sold

@@costantineyoussif6679 The Platinum addresses fuel injectors while cleaning carbon deposits. Sounds like a gimmick to me, but here is a video showing what the folks at BG have to say: th-cam.com/video/FppAmNmzA1Q/w-d-xo.html
It removes and loosens carbon and build up. These products help with that. Everyone expects everything part to be like new. The only way that can happen is if it's taken apart and cleaned or repaired.
I've used this product every 20,000 to 30,000 miles on 6 different vehicles over the last 15 years. I can always tell the difference about 1/2 way through a tank of gas. The vehicle is more responsive and 1 to 2 more mpg. One of the vehicles was the very same type Acura TL that was used in the video. I wonder if the car in the video had ever had the fuel injectors cleaned in its 149k mile life? If not, it will take more than one can to do the job. Dealerships have been using this product for years in combination with the fuel rail attached version of the cleaner. I DO NOT work for BG in any capacity.
I can tell you that the fuel injectors have never been cleaned but always used good fuel. It looks like the car will be using another BG44K bottle in the near future.
One thing I have found is even good fuel has ethanol in it which promotes carbon build up and partially clogged fuel injectors over time. Using the full BG induction cleaning service (technician connects a pressurized canister to the fuel rail and runs the car off of it for immediate direct cleaning) and then following up with BG44k in your gas tank works best on engines that haven't been cleaned regularly.
would you recommend adding BG44 at full tank or 1/4 near empty of gas? I added a can to my 2008 Range Rover HSE with 3/4 of gas.... it seems to have worked. the truck would jerk in the morning when you push the pedal down hard for a quick pick up. It hasn't done that lately and this is the 2nd week.
And I would want that gunk to come off slowly rather than all at once. Imagine all that gunk coming off at once, the engine may even cease LOL! I would just add it to a full tank every so often and just let it take its course and not have giant gunks of dirt flying in my engine.
44k is meant to help with better fuel atomisation. To clean the carbon you need to use EPR as well, before an oil change. EPR cleans the carbon out of the piston rings etc and helps with restoring better compression. Use the system as directed and you should see better results.
Engine Performance Restorer, great stuff. I have a JDM Honda H22A in my '95 Accord and if the head isn't audible at idle than it's gunked up. After 1 EPR/44K service my old engine is back to slapping VTEC and idling healthy. I recommend doing EPR every 2nd or 3rd oil change and a can of 44k here and there.
Used EPR recently on an old Toyota MR2, 156k on the clock, running poorly. Took compression readings before, then added EPR and ran engine for 20mins, drained old oil and replaced with fresh oil, and filter. I have to say as a BG fan I was amazed, the car gained 25% extra compression across the total, one cylinder had been very low, but the other three all gained 10/15%. The car feels like it has a new engine. Worth using EPR on every service.
@Costantine Youssif depends on the car, you can do MOA and CF5 every oil change but you don't have to do 44K every change. CF5 is a less potent version of 44k but it's half the price. If your engine is old and burns a lot of oil you should do EPR every other oil change.
@@richardstarr2794 thanks for your respond, I did last week an induction service using bg 3 part service which include the air intake spray procedure , the question is do I need to do an oil change afterwards ? Or do I need to change spark plugs also ? Thanks
@Reyes Racing great job but I think you needed to do an Italian tune up just before the treatment and blow all that carbon out. I have a 2017 Sportage 2.0l turbo and the top of the pistons are clean as brand new.. I also use Shell 91 octane fuel and a can of BG 44 GDI cleaner every 3 months with the said Italian tune up, WOT to 200KPH.. works for me.. Thanks for the great video man! EDIT, while using that cleaner drive it HARD! Get those cylinder temps up there and believe me it works.. If you don't want to drive it pull an intake vacume line off and put it in the cleaner and that will force clean it! Don't forget afterwards to floor it a few times then shut the engine down for 20 min to heat soak it and then start it up and warm it up and rev the crap out of it.. watch the carbon blow out the rear exhaust.. put your hand there and you can feel it hitting your hand and also see it on the ground.
I believe it’s not fair he said BG44 didn’t work since he didn’t follow the instructions on the bottle! When he hooked up the car on Dyno before use. The fuel gage was full . The bottle says for the tank to be close to empty. Technically when you go to the station to fuel when the car is about to be on last drop . Add the cleaner to the tank and start filling up. That would ensure a proper mix of the product. And when starting the car . The BG will rush into the fuel filter all the way to the injectors. I don’t understand why he didn’t follow proper instructions 👎🏼
unlike many other products that use saturation to clean (and risk damage or contamination to oxygen sensors and/or cat converters) 44K works over time so a higher concentration doesn't do anything. It is also part of a 3 stage process where other conditioners are used to clean the intake. This is not a valid test.
Nicely done mate :) Good to see someone giving these things a proper test rather than just someone saying that they are good etc! Good scientific test :)
Reyes Racing this in my opinion was not a good test, different day, different results anyway, and your probably seeing less figures because its getting all the build up ready to move and its on its way out so will have a power hindereance, you should pour the 2nd can in, then fill up only half a tank, wait until just before light comes on then fill up again to half way. after this your engine + exhaust system will be clean of all the 173k miles of shit + build up. I use BG 245, Epr, + doc for my diesel, my car passes emissions test without any cats.and the oil is still gold after 300miles, (used epr 3 times in 1 year) after doing this treatment to yours, I would run a full tank if furk with BG CF5 as it has fuel stabilizers and conditioners (unlike 44k)
You do realize the 44k is absorbed to that carbon and itl burn off over time after the tank of gas is gone. It’s not a one tank wonder lol. If you looking for that it doesn’t exist.
I was told by Motorweek TV resident mechanic Pat Goss who was BG spokesman on his local automobile show. This was years ago put BG 44K Fuel treatment in on low tank of gas. Fill-up immediately after pour in tank. Then drive the vehicle normally. You do not want to burn that tank of gas out to soon. So don't take a long road trip. So like shorter trips vehicle So it can stay in tank longer. When I got my 2000 Acura 3.2 TL new the Dealership had in its maintenance handbook they would install BG 44K at certain service intervals. My sister had a Dodge Minivan 1993 the Dodge service was using it way back then. 2nd Generation Acura TL check engine light. Car sat unstated for 18 months. Towed to service suspect it was just Air intake boot old busted hose. Had to go through emissions so got car up running. They did the BG Platinum Fuel Injection Service that cost $225.00 and Engine Flush $115.00 they put cheaper fuel additive in gas tank. It probably was Lucas at $5.45 I will put a bottle of BG 44K in at next oil change 1st of year. Car is responsive after service at 23yrs old low mileage almost 105,000. Just ordered a bottle of 44k for nephews Ford Focus.
My Acura has 138,000 miles, never used any additive just mostly Shell Premium, and it's still quite responsive. This has been the same result with all my cars, even one that I ran untill it had about 320,000 miles on a Nissan 280zx before selling it, and it was still running like a fine Swiss watch. I watched many videos on this additive stuff, funny how each video has a different brand of cleaner result from another, so I don't take any of these videos as being accurate. I think paying money for an additive is a waste of money.
I've used this on a couple cars, but was advised to add it to a 1/4 tank of fuel drive the car like you stole it for a few miles then fill tank and drive normal. Massive difference to a golf pd170, civic 1.8 and 2.2 made no improvements to an Astra 1.8 sri..
So just so people know dyno Results vary from day to day because the environment has a impact on how the vehicle performs and then do we know your fuel is the same??? Cars tend to run better with less ethanol in the fuel and the percentage Varys so you could have gotten a batch of fuel that has more ethanol than before and then also to get the best out of those fuel system cleaners your suppose to use them at regular intervals like 10-15k and it best to not run with a full tank. I would add it to like a half tank too a quarter tank or about 8 gallons at the most but if you fill up your diluting the contents more meaning you should run this test at least 2-3 more times... and these products aren’t meant to be quick cleaning agents where you use it once after never cleaning for years and well over 60k miles these are meant to be used during service intervals to maintain and clean build up over time as you own the car....
One missing information, what brand and type of fuel was used. Chevron tends to burn cleaner or if you a Costco or other cheap gas, it really effects your engine. I normally use Chevron or Phillips 66 as my first choice of fuel, and use mid grade on the 6 cylinder and premium on the 4 cylinder.
I wonder if feeding the 44K through a vacum line would've helped.or connecting to the fuel rail at the fuel injectors so the cleaner is sprayed into the engine at full strength.
The 44K is recommended being used through the fuel tank and treats 20 gallons. The company does have a different product to be specifically used through the fuel injector rail but it takes a special type of system that also connects with compressed air.
This stuff works great but has to be used a very specific way.....you add two cans to just under a quarter tank and drive the car 10 miles then park it overnight..... Next day you drive the car 10 more miles then park the car for a few hours, then drive the car 10 more miles and you will notice the difference....this stuff does not work while the car is running it works when the chemical sits on the deposits while the car is warm and sitting.
I agree, but your instructions are odd. Who told you that method? BG chemists advise that the longer its in the tank, the better works. They recommend adding to a full tank and then refilling when you get to a 1/2 tank to keep in their longer.
@@goldenmanuever1176 .... Let me explain that there is a sales tactic behind their method..... It does not work while burning in the combustion chamber....the chemical saturated fuel works when sitting on the deposits while they're warm, so the more you do that the more gets removed the first time around, from fuel injectors all the way through the valve train and cycle.....
@@goldenmanuever1176 ....actually has nothing to do with how long it is in the tank ,it's how long the chemically saturated fuel sits on the deposits when the car is dormant..,..
Am i missing something here? The piston tops definitely look cleaner and mind you this was just one tankful and you also added it with a full tank which is the opposite of what you are supposed to do.
That's not true, at least for BG 44k. I bought a bottle today, and their rep told me to add it to a full tank of gas, drive till I have a half of a tank left, then fill it back up full again. For the best result. I was also confused, since the instructions on the bottle don't say when to add it, but now I know
@@jamesvw769You are fucking wrong. It's incredible how wrong you are I have had multiple instances with different vehicles that this product did some magic on. Shut up and do research or do your own test before you make a statement like that
I'm thinking cost / benefit. Say we use it for recommended intervals for 6 months then do a before and after. I agree though, you can't buy a mechanic in a can.
Was this the pressurized treatment or gas tank fill? I’m getting my Cadillac ATS done right now at a shop using the pressurized treatment. Hope I don’t lose HP!
The car actually lost power after? Wtf. maybe some of the the carbon deposits dislodged then built up elsewhere causing power loss. The best I’ve used is redline fuel cleaner. It had an instant effect on my clogged carbs. My bike would keep stalling after not being in use for a few months so I tried redline and it gave it a smooth tickover with no stalling.

you can tell this car has been abused. for one can it definitely did some good, but it definitely could use a few induction services and epr services to see some real results
This video cannot show the true effectiveness of BG products because there is no telling if this car's fuel system has been taken of in the past. By looking at the combustion chambers it looks like this car has been neglected. If he would have done the whole process correctly which includes the intake cleaner and fuel injection cleaner and 44k it would have been a lot cleaner than that in the video. I used the whole system in a 2013 Honda Accord (163K miles) LX last week and the customer was so excited that the vehicle's performance was restored she thanked multiple times. I only use BG products for my vehicles and customer's vehicles due to all of the positive results I have gotten in the past, this guy is just using a single can of 44k on a neglected vehicle with almost 200k miles. It's just not practical. If you use the 44k every 10 to 15k miles in between complete cleanings which should be done every 25k to 45k miles your combustion chambers won't look like the ones on this video and your car will drive like a beast. It's worth the money to get it done
I wouldn't suggest that this car has been neglected. Looking at the power numbers, I would say that the Acura has been well taken care of. The car produced 227 HP at the wheels and without the average of 15 percent drivetrain loss, that puts this car at 261 HP. When new, this car was rated at 270 HP so after over 170K plus miles and over 10 years, 261 HP would suggest that it is well taken care of and well maintained.
Reyes Racing you did what the BG company says to do. Toss a can in the tank and it will clean. You showed results. What else can people ask for. Great job thanks for your time.
First, I want to thank you for taking your time and effort to demonstrate effectiveness of the BG44K. In my view, the result all depends on how much carbon was deposited. When he showed the internal cleanliness after the test, #1, #2 showed some improvements (some carbon deposit were cleaned), compared to before photos. #3 photo was different. To me it still had quite amount of carbon deposit from before and after photos. Perhaps #3 had excess deposits compared to others. Therefore perhaps he may require more than just one can or perhaps if the deposit is really thick, even no matter how many cans you use, it might not clean majority of the carbon deposit. Then you must consider is it cost effective to spend like $11.00 a can and how many cans are you going to try and will the end result worth the effort and cost? Remember that carbon molecular structure is almost as similar to diamond, which is super hard to dislodge from molecular lattice.
I have found over the years that for the price 44k is garbage lucas works really well and it's allot cheaper I have assembled and disassembled motors with running lucas they are cleaner all around also fuel system cleaners do work to keep your injectors working properly

You know it's a fuel system cleaner right? I mean it might do a little bit for the combustion chamber in the long term but it's purpose is definitely not to clean the heads 😂 P.S. that Acura consumes oil and is probably high mileage so I don't see what he was trying to prove.
No 2 dyno runs with the same car are the same..EVER. So showing a lower one after is no big deal and is meaningless. The AD could have been different along with a myriad of other things. The camera did show some carbon buildup removed.
it does it's actually good stuff, it's the brand that's used in many dealerships when servicing the induction/cleaning the carbon off of intake valves and combustion chambers
You can't say that the 44k was the reason for the power loss. There was an 8 degree difference in temperature from test 1 to test 2 and we don't know Humidity, Density Altitude, or if the gas was the same quality as what was in the car in test 1. If you don't use a fuel system cleaner every few tanks of gas then you won't see big results anyway.

I wait until the tank is almost empty, add a can, then fill the tank with only 10 gallons, then run until almost empty again. A 20 gallon tank is too diluted.
There are two products I swear by: BG44K and STP Oil Treatment. I use the STP at every oil change, even though I run Mobil 1. Generally I go way over 200K on my vehicles but I am a stickler for maintenance (fuel filters, PCV valve, etc.), and I don't beat on my rides.
Is it too bad to use bG 44k every oil change ?
@@costantineyoussif6679 This stuff is expensive!!!! A waste of money to use it that often, use it every 15K miles. BUT......use it effectively!! I always wait until the tank is almost empty, add a can of BG44K, then fill the tank with only 10 gallons, then run until almost empty again. A 20 gallon tank is too diluted.
@@davelevy4394 I’ll follow your steps for sure, but is there’s any differences between the 44k and the 44k platinum?
@@costantineyoussif6679 The Platinum addresses fuel injectors while cleaning carbon deposits. Sounds like a gimmick to me, but here is a video showing what the folks at BG have to say: th-cam.com/video/FppAmNmzA1Q/w-d-xo.html
I'm just wondering. Do you really expect the car with 173K miles get cleaned up on first try.
I did not expect anything. I just wanted to try this product to see what kind of results this car might have with this amount of miles.
Mechanic told me tu use it 2x for my Focus MK1, 245k km and it works
I do, for 25$ it should!!
It removes and loosens carbon and build up. These products help with that. Everyone expects everything part to be like new. The only way that can happen is if it's taken apart and cleaned or repaired.
...Thanks for posting this....very informative....
People recommend pouring the can near empty tank to get a good mix.
sure man.... many thanks!
I was getting a p0300 random misfire code and rough idle. Poured a can of bg44k in the tank and no more random misfires or rough idle. 2014 QX80
same heere.. it was twitching from 1-2k revs a min before, after no prob, car is 5km/h faster on deutsche autobahn
Misting water into the throttlebody works great and it's free.... it literally steam cleans the cylinders
Exactly.
So does coolant and transmission oil ;)
#hydrolock 😂
Only If You're a moron and put too much. Hence the word Misting.....
I'd say there is some cleaning evident and the carbon on the piston crowns looks "wet" so it might clean more yet.
And I would want that gunk to come off slowly rather than all at once. Imagine all that gunk coming off at once, the engine may even cease LOL! I would just add it to a full tank every so often and just let it take its course and not have giant gunks of dirt flying in my engine.
I Used BG K44 it's Great All The Time & The Top Product From The World, Clean The System Fuel ⛽ & The Catalytic Converter > More Engine Performance
I wished that was true. Maybe a second bottle would yield better results. Not all customers experience the same results.
I Used More Than 2 Bottles it's Great, is BG K44 Safe For Valves Engine & Can I Use Every 5000 KM ?
prove it with same test
@@richardstarr2794 so it’s not recommended to the BG trio every oil change ? EPR and MOA and 44k platinum? Thanks
Thanks

@Reality Check i'll get around to it later
Don't forget afterwards to floor it a few times then shut the engine down for 20 min to heat soak it and then start it up and warm it up and rev the crap out of it.. watch the carbon blow out the rear exhaust.. put your hand there and you can feel it hitting your hand and also see it on the ground.
wow... don't expect any Christmas present from Mr. BG44K :D :D
My car with 115K miles accelerated much better and the gas mileage improved with one can. Continued over 2 oil changes.
Thanks Jack Taylor.
Reyes Racing this in my opinion was not a good test, different day, different results anyway, and your probably seeing less figures because its getting all the build up ready to move and its on its way out so will have a power hindereance,
you should pour the 2nd can in, then fill up only half a tank, wait until just before light comes on then fill up again to half way.
after this your engine + exhaust system will be clean of all the 173k miles of shit + build up.
I use BG 245, Epr, + doc for my diesel, my car passes emissions test without any cats.and the oil is still gold after 300miles, (used epr 3 times in 1 year)
after doing this treatment to yours, I would run a full tank if furk with BG CF5 as it has fuel stabilizers and conditioners (unlike 44k)
Thanks for your opinion and also a different way to test this product.
i put this in my car and it did really good my car i can tell it runs alot better now idk...
44k is only 1 part of their cleaning system….
How dirty were the fuel injectors?
Probably not that dirty but he also botched the instructions which clearly state to add to an EMPTY tank of fuel not an already full tank.
Nothing beats good ole Berryman.
H.E.S.T test
So just so people know dyno
Results vary from day to day because the environment has a impact on how the vehicle performs and then do we know your fuel is the same???
Need to test the induction service kit not the 44k by it self
Do I have to change oil after doing the induction service ? I just had it a week ago and I’m not sure should I or not ? Thanks
Costco is Top Tier just like Chevron is.
Costco gas is “inexpensive” NOT “cheap.” There is a difference.
I agree with Reyes cuz hi tryed as indication on the can like any customer will read and use.....tnks Reyes for the video.
Don't try connecting it to the fuel rail. It won't run on this. Best bet is through the intake through a vacuum hose or BGs atomizer setup.
That's interesting, and I'll have to try that
Am i missing something here? The piston tops definitely look cleaner and mind you this was just one tankful and you also added it with a full tank which is the opposite of what you are supposed to do.
That's not true, at least for BG 44k. I bought a bottle today, and their rep told me to add it to a full tank of gas, drive till I have a half of a tank left, then fill it back up full again. For the best result. I was also confused, since the instructions on the bottle don't say when to add it, but now I know

I agree though, you can't buy a mechanic in a can.
The music is absolutely horrible and unnecessary.
I'm just wondering what the spark plugs look like. Maybe all the shit from the valves and pistons fouled the plugs??
Was this the pressurized treatment or gas tank fill? I’m getting my Cadillac ATS done right now at a shop using the pressurized treatment. Hope I don’t lose HP!
Luv that sound at the end. Try some ideas that are posted, with real dirty intakes.
My guess is it took off some deposits on the piston tops lowering the compression and loss of power on paper but should clean up efficiency.
chue xiong on top of that the humidity/temp before and after. Test should have been run 3 times consecutively to get an average before and after.
Dude either put the door all the way up or down ! You’re killing your videos.

Ever think to change your fuel filter after the cleaner ran through? The product cleaned your system. There is something wrong with your testing...
I wouldn't think of doing this after using BG 44K unless that was one of the procedures for using this product.
Same car as the one you tested Sea Foam on in February?

No 2 dyno runs with the same car are the same..EVER. So showing a lower one after is no big deal and is meaningless. The AD could have been different along with a myriad of other things. The camera did show some carbon buildup removed.
