Big longnose are a good fight on light gear. I like to run a chub or tiny sunfish real shallow under a float with some brushed out nylon rope on the hook. The jumps are usually instant and pretty epic.

The lance armstrong sinker is originally part of what were called the lindy rig mostly for dragging night crawlers or leeches and if your minnows die and minnows aren’t a option too get fresh ones … the rig made them useful not as good for walleyes but murders some smallies ! But I have caught about every fresh water fish on one .. and I tore up some red fish and trout In Louisiana. I had too give up what I had too the guide so he could reproduce them ! I’d guess a parasite behind the eye from a hook that made a hole in and outta the eye .

Come down to North Carolina!!!! The cape fear river and the nuese river have huge flatheads and blues! I bank fish both the rivers and there little small rivers but the fish are huge! The nuese holds the state record flathead at 78lbs and the cape fear river has produced 100lb blues. And the rivers are not big at all in my opinion. I got plenty of little shitty spillways around here that I catch some pretty big flatheads from and monster bowfins. I bet you could make a banger of a video down here ! Love the content Josh!! Been watching you for yearsssss

Fish don't talk about fish fight club! As long as the gar are not over 5 feet, a rag or hand towel can be used to gran them around the mouth. That is the safest place to grab them. Control the mouth, everything else follows.

A fish with pop eye like that is either injured or sick. Ususally having only one eye bulging is from an injury. If it was equal on both eyes then it's often parasites or water quality.

That fish will die from whatever it has and whatever eats that fish will die and so on and so forth. I had that happen to one of my aquariums and the only way I got it to stop was to isolate the fish that had it. I lost some really expensive cichlids due to it so if you find out what it is let me know

You know that with a pair of tin snips, a hacksaw, or Sawzall, and a filet knife you have some excellent pure white meat fish there.
That's excellent grilled, fried n battered table fare, and has excellent flavor comparable to any good eating fish species.
Once you are familiar with the cleaning process it really doesn't take long to prepare for the table, and once you've tried it you will want more, because as I say the mean is pure white, there's no problem whatsoever with bones to worry about.
Just thought I'd share that bit of knowledge with you, and your fans, as it's not a widely known fact that people know about in today's society, are it maybe more of a regional thing actually.
