This video is a treasure. So glad someone out there is fighting the good fight against the disingenuous buildcrafting content that's plaguing D2 on TH-cam right now. This is no nonsense, to-the-point, and displays everything about the build's strengths and weaknesses in real high-end practical applications. You did a fantastic job!
Vesper on strand goes crazy. Add on an elemental weapon like Tommy’s or runious effigy. Good damage, great ad clear, pretty good survivability and just fun gameplay.
When you tell where the time stamps are but also make such a good video that ppl watch the entire video multiple times anyways, you know your content is good
Warlock main here 🙋♂️ Always on the lookout for new builds to try out and test and this looks great. Fantastic video and well put together. Keep up the great work 👏👏👏
Vesper is one of my favourite exotics, and one of the reasons why I think arc warlocks are actually quite viable in GM. I never considered it with solar before. That’s such a great idea
If you think arc warlock is viable with vesper pls try out fallen sunstar and make sure you use the fragment that creates ionic traces on jolt kills and the one that makes your made jolt. A single nade kill will now give back 50% melee and nade and 60% class ability energy instantly.
@@gaiusoptus4417 I am well aware of Fallen Sunstar. In fact, my solo (not flawless) of GotD was using Fallen Sunstar. However, my solo *flawless* run was using Vesper. Vesper is much better for survivability, with a small sacrifice to spammability. FS is better for spammability, but doesn’t help with survivability, which is what you need for when things get really dire (such as in a flawless run, when you can’t die, or when you are surrounded by several enemies in a GM).
@@hudsonps4669 what’s GotD? Never heard of that activity before. For my solo clear of fallen saber I used fallen sunstar for always having my nade for overload stun and general add clear. Does vesper generate ionic traces? If so I understand why you still get similar ability spam because that would mean more ionic traces than with fallen sunstar
@@gaiusoptus4417 Ghost of the Deep. It’s one of the dungeons in the game, and oftentimes regarded as quite difficult to solo, partly because the bosses have shields. Vesper or Fallen Sunstar (FS) both have nothing to do with how many ionic traces you get. That is determined simply from having a fragment + the warlock ionic trace aspect. However, FS makes these traces give you more ability energy (hence better spammability). Vesper blinds enemies, so it helps with survivability. However, Vesper also has its own loop going on, in that rifts generate much faster when you’re close to enemies (which is the premise of the video posted here). For an arc warlock, this means that you will be getting your rift relatively quickly. That rift can then be used to create an arc soul, whose kills give you more traces. Moreover, the rift blinds using the blind verb, so blinded enemies when killed will generate ionic traces (because of the warlock aspect). So the main difference in the flow between FS and Vesper is that Vesper prioritizes your rift, and you need more traces for the other abilities compared to FS, but you can still get traces through having a rift (because of arc soul and blinded enemies). What you gain by going with this more complicated workflow compared to FS is survivability, as your rift can now blind AND kill enemies with its shockwaves. When soloing the final encounter of GotD, I’m pretty much moving from one spot to another, casting my rift, executing the mechanics, and due to enemies being around and blind, that ensures I get the rift back, so I can move to the next spot and safely execute the mechanics there. If you don’t need extra survivability, FS will do just fine. But whenever you are surrounded by several enemies with no way out, like in a GM when things get spicy, the FS user will likely die. The Vesper user might make it because once enemies are blind, they won’t attack for a bit. (And because they are still nearby, you might be able to regenerate the rift through vesper quickly enough to keep the effect going.)
i was surprised when I saw this in my recommended, because I had made this same build WITH VESPER TOO. Even still, you kept my interest and helped me optimize it even more. Keep it up, my man.

Please keep doing this!
Man that build looks good, everything you need to know was explained AND he even chose weapons that aren't dungeon related in the gameplay to show that it works without awesome video thanks :D
This is the creativity that I love destiny for. I’ve been messing around with a abayant+boar class item for a more defensive prismatic titan build that’s a load of fun and isn’t built around melee like others insist titan needs to be
Genuinely you make great videos man, glad i found you. Love the format and the use of outdated exotics but in a new light. I knew vesper wasnt dead! The king rises again!

Playtested it now & heck yeah, my guy !! Excellent build. So much fun to be had. Two teeny tiny little notes: if you're playing solo then obv ember of benevolence & power preservation ain't doing jack, I would swap them out for ember of searing & your choice of helmet mod. Also for any less difficult content (shout out to my casuals) the double special feels a bit overkill. I'd swap out The Call for Traveller's Chosen & Still Hunt for Ikelos. You still get the same anti-champ capabilities but TC will help with ability regen if you get stuck & Ikelos is arguably better than Hunt in certain situations. Apologies if you covered any of that in the vid, I pretty much just skimmed it for the stuff I needed to know. You definitely earned a new subscriber, may good fortune light your path to the future.
As a potential alternate swap for Benevolence, I think Torches is also very good with how often you're snapping. Weapons imo are super flexible and can change to however you want to change the build. For a lot of the more sniper/arc heavy GMs I've been running Critical Anomaly/Riskrunner/Ill Omen. If you have any other ideas, please let me know!
A Vesper of Radius build was one of my absolute favorite warlock builds back before the ability regen nerfs, just charging into every group of enemies I could see and blasting down well after well in succession. I'll definitely have to give this a try
