it's fair to say that conditions have not been great for perch fishing recently. warm temperatures and high air pressure has been constant and those big old perch have been very hard to find!

Good luck Joe, I've decided to try for pike on deadbaits this winter, had my first one on a deadbait on Sunday, 7lbs. Very happy. I'm sure you'll start catching the big 'uns soon!

I am on the Perch search too at the moment. Struggling a bit too.
Warm temps and rain causing issues.
Seems like they are not in Autumn/ winter mode yet. I'm keeping my shads moving at a steady pace and the Perch are sitting close to structure because of the muddy water.
I know you watch TH-cam Lure content. Thom Hunt's channel has good info. Watch a few Bass channels too. Nick on "Life on the Bank" is good too. His "Perch masters" series gets you thinking.

Good luck with the big perch hunt mate, I am starting my quest for a big perch on my local commercial fishery next week, have you tried feeding red maggot and using a big raw prawn or a big lobworm on the hook,, it worked wonders for my last winter, biggest perch was 3lb 12oz, good luck and tight lines thanks mark

It's been diabolical Joe, I've found the same as you - too weedy to fish deeper water and the perch aren't shallow it seems. The roach aren't shoaled up either. Still a better way to spend tea-breaks at work than sitting on Facebook!

Frosts and floods needed to get rid of the weed and weaker food sources.
Can't wait til we see some frosts so I can get to Viaduct to maybe bag some nice stripeys.

Andrews Knots, prolific angler has a great you tube channel. Set out to catch 100 perch over 40 cm in length, 100 double figure barbel he makes it look easey, thinks outside the box and lots of tips ive seen no where else for lure types, colours and gear.

That’s fishing….there’s always going to be a list of reasons why it’s not going to plan you just gotta keep at it. It will happen…big sergeants are never easy prey. Your catching that’s the main thing. Enjoy it,don’t get to hung up on sizes but the lbers will come 😉
