    Rickey has 297 home runs. Think about that. He is second in walks. He has 3,000 hits and played on four different playoff teams, two in the American and two in the National league. Idk, time doesn't favor anybody and records are meant to be broken. It's just a matter of time before a talented big boy with a powerful swing and great eye breaks Bonds' homerun records. Especially in this swing for the fences era. Think Trout playing in Coors.
      And as for Rose, there's an argument that if Ichiro would've started his career here as opposed to Japan, he would've been the guy to break the hits record.
      I actually feel the Henderson's stolen bases records will be harder to break since stealing is considered too big of a risk nowadays

      I think Rickey is a bit of a surprising choice for top 5 of all baseball players. Among left fielders, I'm not sure he's better than Bonds or Ted Williams. But I think if you had to come up with a dream roster, selecting 25 guys to fill all positions plus backups, Rickey makes the list for sure.

    • @bondsgoat25
      @bondsgoat25 ปีที่แล้ว

      @kure that list is 4 fifths of the way perfect, except i would replace hank Aaron with Rickey or Ted Williams.
      Hank was not much of a base stealer/runner in his hitting prime, despite narratives and while he won gold gloves, based on old defensive metrics and the eye test I don’t think he was a stand out defender like mays for example.
      So with that considered it would just be his hitting and Williams was far superior in that department with their careers even overlapping.. and Rickey was a worse power guy but way better at everything else, base running, base stealing, defense, eye/on-base skills!
      But hey that’s just my opinion, what do you think?

    That’s his list. Everybody has their own list. They could interpret different than others. As their favorite top 5 or their top 5 of who is the best of all-time. If I was asked that question I would answer with a top 5 which would include the five tools of ability of a baseball player. That would include hitting for average, hitting for power, base running, fielding ability and throwing. I would not include any Pitchers or steroid linked players in my list. So my all time all around top 5 players to ever step onto a diamond would be:
    5. Hank Aaron
    4. Ted Williams
    3. Ken Griffey, Jr
    2. Willie Mays
    1. Babe Ruth

      It’s a lot easier to be the best player in the League-When that league only allows players of one race.
      That isn’t some kind of a “Political statement”;
      It’s basic Math.
      It’s easier to be #1/100 players, than it is #1/10,000 players.
      On top of that, it’s also much easier to dominate a Sport/Competition-The newer/younger the Sport is.
      As a game evolves, competition becomes less and less exploitable.
      People get better and better, they learn from their own mistakes and they get to learn from the mistakes of others, etc. etc.
      All of those things play a significant factor. So, it’s perfectly logical to assume that Babe Ruth wasn’t the Greatest Player of All Time.

    He left Babe Ruth out. Barry Bonds. How about Lou Gehrig? Barry probably due to gas, but everyone else was taking, and I'm not absolving jr here either of it. But, to leave at least Babe off that list, there's a scent of racism here. And come on, Lou Gehrig, had he not come down with that despicable disease, he would've had all time top numbers as well.
    Top 5-
    1- Babe Ruth
    2- Barry Bonds
    3- Lou Gehrig
    4- Ted Williams
    5- Willie Mays - this one was tough. A lot of guys could've been put in there.
    Honorable mentions- Hank Aaron, Alex Rodriguez, Albert Pujols, Ken Griffey jr,
    These next guys I don't care if there's steroids, or they're just known as dopes, but they put up some monster runs- Mark Mcgwire, Sammy Sosa and Manny Ramirez. They've got to be mentioned if Barry is. And they were virtually ALL taking back then---- and are nearly all taking now, albeit maybe, maybe in less dosages to appear less obvious.
