HCBailly, here's somewhat of a fire under water explanation: A road flare can work while submerged in any liquid because it has an oxidizer and fuel in it so that it will burn even while in liquid since it always has fuel and oxygen.
For the first time in this ENTIRE Lets Play, I'm interested. I mean, holy shirt, that was compleatly outta left field. Well you did get the vibe that Lufia was special because of her having the game named after her and all, but just Bravo game.

Intense heat evaporates the water, thus allowing the continued flame stream from striking your target. Fire, under water. For a real life example of that, look up lava under water pictures. The lava is so hot, it still burns with visible flames underwater.

The Sinistrals must be really confident that they're going to win that they'd just let Adol have the Dual Blade without a fight or any obstacles.

I may be wrong, but the reason why underwater explosions kill you is, water is one of the only liquids that does not compress under pressure, in other words, the power of the shockwave 50ft away could be the exact same as if you were standing right next to the explosion. The power does dissipate as the force creates enough energy to cause the water to evaporate and bubbles float to the surface, and it loses it's energy that way albeit at a much slower rate than if it was in the air.

I believe if the fire is hot enough, it can still work underwater. like when oceandivers are welding, torches and the like will work.
@PhbBen I thought about that, but decided to leave it alone, because most people following along probably wouldn't have it. It is a really rare drop and I've never gotten it in all the times I played this game.
@Ayntlerz He mentioned that in this video. The chests in the "ruined" version of the FoD are always open and empty. If you didn't open the chests in the intro, you missed them.
@Soulus7887 electricity always takes the shortest route to be grounded. So if you could shoot a lightning bolt, it would always go straight down. Under water it does the same thing, there have been lightning strikes in the deep ocean before, quite often.
@HCBailly It did, until I saw the color of Lufia's hair and figured that Adol and Lufia were an item. It was just a matter of putting 2 and 2 together after that.
@Agent0009ng Yeah, I realized I made a major slip up there, but I didn't really have any options. If I removed the video to re-edit the monologue, then it would spoil that what I was saying would come to pass later in the game. If I commented on it, then I would also be spoiling future events. I felt my best option was to ignore the comments made on it, since people who hadn't played the game probably wouldn't think anything of it, and avoid spoiling the game for them. I hope it worked.

@Made4542 No, not really. I don't think it would have really worked well, because they strongly hint at the plot twist right at the beginning of the scene.

When you said the Underwater streams were like the moving platforms from Dragon Quest IV except underwater, I half expected to say except you die haha

@HCBailly I wouldn't call it a major slip, but more of epic foreshadowing, you know. I mean, I remember the that same statment, yet never thought more of it other that, "damn, it would be awesome to have the Sinistral of death as my gf, a little creepy, but still awesome.
Man...I was hoping the Bears would make it to the Super Bowl, but unfortunately they couldn't play Defence, they only played De-opened gate.
I love how you eluded to this earlier in the LP when you were talking about how awesome it'd be if your girlfriend was the sinistral of death.

Yeah high PSI shockwave puts too many g's on the human body. It can blow out internal organs among other things. As they say on deadliest warrior with the 100g patch "if it's red, he's dead".
Adol:

I read "Adol found opal" and had a double take thinking I spotted an anagram. Alas...
I think the only way fire works under water is that it heats the water to a boil or something like that.

Speaking of fire working under water why are there flaming suits of armour in underwater caves!?!?
So, Erim is Lufia, and Lufia is Erim? The first time I found that out, I was really surprised! Of course, if you think about it, it does make some sense (at least as much sense as you can have in video games). Besides, I like big reveals like that. It makes the game more epic, IMO.
Oh, BTW, congratz on getting really lucky with that Might Armor drop. They are NOT easy to get. Maybe it makes up for your Bears losing to the Pack yesterday? Or, maybe not. :)
Well... fires work as well, I guess, if it's hot enough you can cook your enemies with boiling water, I guess... Weapons make still much less sense.
You know, it always bugged me... If Lufia looks just like Erim/the statue, why do they look so different in... all other occasions? If they'd switched the statue from the intro with the new one I might not complain but to me they look the same...
Well, WHATEVER. It's still a nice twist and they really make it work with the plot and everything.

The dual blade scene reminds me of when Jessica had the sceptre in Dragon Quest VIII. You know she isn't evil, but she is so convincing. Well I guess its the opposite in Lufia. You get the idea.
Thats something I couldn't even guess...Adol has the most powerful girlfriend in the world...lol that's a double edged sword right there...keep her happy and good things will come to him with benefits,but make her mad and its lights out for Adol ^-^
sometimes anyway, some of the games I love do have them like FF6 and FF9

It would be pretty cool to be a Sinistral actually. Until a red haired swordsman comes to kill you but before that would be nice.

Maybe it's just me, but when I played, the might armor and might swords were not that hard to get. I just kept fighting the hydra's and fire plate's until I got 2 might swords and 3 might armors. It didn't take long. On the other hand, I could not get any Barient's to drop a single might helmet no matter how hard I tried! My levels went from the 60's to the 90's trying to get one of those damn things!

Usually this is the point of time when side quests are done (World in danger, time to go save it yada yada). Too bad this game has a total lack of it.

@Zarggg Patch lufia with filler. Extend the game with things that won't progress the story, or do anything of relevance. I think the alumina fetch quest was pretty stupid, in all honesty.
After playing chrono trigger and mario RPG, I find random battles in any game to be quite boring and repetitive.
Please don't tell me they're going to patch the game out with even more boring filler fetch quests.
