Infiniti’s problems have nothing to do with the look of their logo or dealerships and everything to do with the lack of an updated vehicle lineup.
The Q50 is a decade old at this point and has received minimal updates over its life. The 3.0 turbo also gets horrendous fuel economy, even in base form with only 300 hp. They really needed a 2.0T for the base engine that can put out 250-270 hp and deliver 26-27 mpg. Everyone else in this segment has been doing that for the better part of a decade now.
It seems Genesis is filling the role Infiniti used to in the mid 2000s and looks to be the biggest challenger to the established German brands.

Infiniti needs to do something, there pretty much a zombie brand at this point. They aren’t respected in the luxury market anymore. First and foremost, Infiniti needs to update their lineup. Honestly, most of their lineup still looks modern from a design perspective. The problem is that it just applies to the exterior. Focus on developing a halo vehicle (my suggestion would be a four-door version of whatever the next GT-R is going to be) on the high end and a volume seller on the low end. If they're choosing to keep the current lineup, then the QX80 should be the first to receive the rebrand and the Q50/QX50 or their replacement as a fun to drive entry on the low end. The QX60 needs an additional powertrain (RedSport or an electric variant perhaps as the QX65 or QX70). That will make it more exclusive from the Pathfinder. And they should introduce their new products back-to-back as opposed to the 5-10 year hiatus. If they're going the direction of electrification, then the concepts/Inspiration they were so fond of showing should be used. They still look very futuristic. And please. NO CVT IN ANY INFINITI! Move away from Nissan.

A luxury company is only going to do as well as it's parent company and Nissan has been on the ropes for a while. Ghosn had it half right where the brand needed to downsize big time, but going as a budget brand instead of economy + and focusing on the user experience and interior design has hurt them big time. If they want Infiniti to succeed they need to focus on making just three or four models, an upgraded model of the Z, Patrol, and Ariya. Then go from there, forget the sound and scent thing for now since those are so subjective. Maybe even going so far as partnering with Lucid and using their tech to make economy + versions of those cars. And definitely keep a manual and ICE in the + version of the Z.
It's a shame because their exterior design has been the best out of the luxury makers especially with this latest generation of cars.

    My advice to Infinity:
    No CVTs. Ever.
No turbochargers. You can get 300-400 HP out of a naturally-fed V6. Do that.
No blobular SUV's. There are already too many. Be brave, don't be a drone.
Don't make your cars look like everyone else's. Offer more than 3 paint colors.
Make all the pesky, troublesome EXPENSIVE "safety" tech optional... most of us don't want it, or want to pay for it. I don't want my car to steer for me, brake for me, turn on and off and on and off every time I pull up to a light. Don't try to be trendy and "edgy"... focus on quality, luxury, performance. Not everybody wants what everyone else has.

Great video. Agree with you, Infiniti has lost their way. An updated logo, signature scent, dramatic thematic music, and redesigned dealerships can't overcome the lack of exciting / inspiring products. I drove a 2008 FX35 for 6 years...replacing my 2004 Acura TSX. It was Beryllium Brown with Black Leather with the sport package. With the VQ engine it was fast and powerful, sounded great, looked amazing (so many compliments on my "bionic cheetah"), was comfortable at 80 mph all day, and a great Bose stereo, and 20" wheels. I put 180k miles on it. I made sure it was impeccably maintained by the dealer. My FX had a soul...I felt connected to it. There is nothing in the Infiniti line up today that actually replaced it (while the QX55 looks the part, it's too small, and with an underpowered turbo 4 cyl and a Nissan CVT - agree with you no luxury car should have a CVT - not worth considering. Nissan figured this out with the new Pathfinder and QX60 and went back to a traditional 9 speed transmission). Never having a halo or sports car (version of the Z) has hurt the brand. I am not a Lexus (too soft and insulated) or Tesla fan...But I agree with a more exciting new product pipeline, maybe become 100% electric division of Nissan, Infiniti could once again be a player in the near-luxury segment (Volvo, Polestar, Acura, Genesis, Some VWs, Cadillac)...but today the brand is a longer way from competing for high end customers (Lexus, MB, BMW, Audi, etc.)

Out of all the Japanese lucury brands, Infiniti to me is always the weakest when it comes to the overall package in their vehicles. Back in the day, they made great cars, notably the G when that came out, the M, the FX, etc. All their vehicles nowadays are very old, most of them have not gotten updates for a while, especially the Q50. I always like the use the Q50 as an example because that car has not gotten an update in years, especially in the interior. Don't get me wrong, the styling of their cars are still very good, but their interiors need work, the tech needs work, and I'm glad that Infiniti is going to try and rebrand themselves. I've always considered Acura and Lexus more superior, but I am rooting for Infiniti, and let's see if Nissan will put a lot of money into this brand.

I think the other problem with luxury cars is that the parent companies are kind of taking over, the luxury versions are pretty much just rebadged versions of its standard sister with a more upscaled look, Samsung went through with the Note and S line at one point where they realized they were giving everything to the S and there was nothing left to give to the note. So the note was pretty much just a more expensive S with a pen, they bounced back a little bit with the note but eventually canceled it in favor of just giving all the note features to the S, I think that's what's happening with infinity, Lincoln, Buick and maybe Cadillac, etc. Hyundai seems to be one of a few brands that actually knows how to manage a luxury brand, an entry level brand, and a sporty brand, because Genesis is the luxury Brand of Hyundai , Kia is the sporty off roadie brand of Hyundai, and Hyundai is just the entry level, Hyundai is still a really nice, but they know where to stop, Hyundai is actually doing more than just rebadging Hyundai models as Genesis models

With all this electric cars and trucks push i hope Infinity can fine Some space to get A high fuel efficiency Gas and hybrid V8 Performance muscle car 2door coupe, that can seat 5 Adults for free, and Full size SUV'S and Pick up Trucks as a option !!! That way people can pick to have EV'S and Gas and hybrid vehicles too satisfy a multiple audience !!!

I got a 19 q60RS and so far no problems *knock on wood* but I agree, Infiniti ain’t gonna be around in 10 years. Especially if they spending $ on mamadas like sounds, smells, and logo bs. They need to make a good quality product along with a good warranty. They definitely have fallen from grace.
