Hi Neil another nice day to walk round Windsor and it is nice to see the castle and all the shops and restaurants and cafes and it is busy and that is one big castle and the Royal family and the buses ride round and the other shopping centre is big think how many trains used to be there before
Yes exactly!
I'll be back here in the summer for a warmer explore I think too!
Very informative thankyou
My pleasure
The carry on films did a lot of location stuff here.
Didn't know that!
I might watch a few and see if I can spot a few locations!
@@GimbalWalkTV carry on loving used it a lot, with the railway station being one of the obvious places.
And Norman Wisdom.
Looks like a nice place but not what I expected. Surprised to see all those chain restaurants right next to the castle. Still worth a visit, another to add to my list!
It was a shock (and disappointment) to see a McDonalds right opposite the castle
But then again there's a McDonalds and KFC right next to the pyramids in Egypt so guess I should expect it
Macdonald’s has been there for years and years. They were not allowed to display their usual red arches in the town. I believe they are the only ones that are gold. Many of the pub names have been changed. Which really irritates me as I remember them as the original names.
It would be funny if a small motorcade starting from the castle appeared. I was hoping one would have, but sadly it wasn't to be, lol 🤣
Been there many times. Marched up through town centre as an Army Cadet from Guards Barracks
Visited the Theatre Royal many times with our local Amateur Theatre Group
Bet that was magic when you were marching with the cadets there!
To be involved with the “changing of the Guards” is every school boys dream
In the description you said Princes Diana was buried at Windsor. She was not, she was buried at her home in Northamptonshire, Althorp House.
Great as always. One minor point, The Windsor Castle Main Entrance that you showed was not the main entrance but the main exit hence the Police presence. The main entrance was in view at the 20m 14s mark where the green sign is.
Ah thank you!
My error - apologies but thank you for the correction it's much appreciated!
(i'll be going back in summer so will remember!)
