  • So many tabletop roleplaying games (RPGs) involve some form of investigation, exploration, or mystery solving. You don't have to be a player character that's a detective to follow this RPG advice. It can apply to any character and most games!

One I'd add, kind of related to your #8, is "be suspicious." Too many times as a GM, I've had players take NPCs at their word, especially if they seem to be revealing a secret or confirming a bias. They need to keep in mind that NPCs have their own motivations, or could even be wrong.

I find my players to be too suspicious! They don't trust ANYONE. They also are wwaaayy to timid and believe every door is trapped, every food is poisoned etc. Despite me almost never implementing these elements. I can't even recall ever poisoning food and het everytime they sit down for a meal with an npc at least one or two of them refuse to touch the food.

Great t-shirt. And a great video. I have a couple players who are meticulous note takers. I have them text a pic of their notes to me after the game. It helps me remember when I improvise stuff on the fly.

Thank you! That's a great tip for people that have good note takers in the group.

#1 Be curious 🧐! Love that. Apathy is terrible at the table. I’ll use these today making a character.

Playing a PF2e investigator now… this video helps, I still feel like I’m just not connecting dots and pace of the game slows down investigating all the little things in a game that has No Investigation skill, I digress… thanks for these tips though I will employ them

First and foremost thanks for the great videos. It's awesome that you're focussing on Call of Cthulhu's system. :-) I'm a keeper for quite some years now, but I'm happy for every new idea and influence. I've still not figured out, how I should use the - in the most cases really - well-done maps of most Call of Cthulhu scenarios. Be it either "world- / area-maps" or more like floorplans. I feel like my players are moving either very slowly or very unsystematically through / over the maps. - especially after we switched to virtual tabletop systems because of COVID. :-(
It would be great if you got any tips when it comes to "map movement" in Call of Cthulhu or if you'd like to share your experiences or the way you're handling it. :-) Thanks in advance and - again - great work!

Thank you, I have added map movement to my list of topics to hit in a future video. Thank you for watching!

Enjoy the videos! Are you a fan of Seth Skorkowsky? You might enjoy creating “characters “ ( dress up / cosplay) to illustrate your points in other views-

I am a big Seth Skorkowsky fan, he was a big influence for me starting my own channel! Thanks for the tip
