Negative keywords are a powerful tool when it comes to Amazon PPC advertising. They can drastically improve the efficiency of your existing campaigns while also cutting down on wasteful spend. However, negative keywords can be really dangerous in your account if you're not fully aware of what they do, which types you should be adding, and when you should be adding them. These are essential details which can really make or break a campaign's performance! If the concept of negative keywords is confusing for you at all or if you haven't implemented them in your account just yet, this video's for YOU.

    this video is actually brilliant. Very well explained and clear - albeit a lot of info to take on board. I paused many times and made many notes. And it was really engaging - love the quiz halfway through (which I got correct!) Thank you for the trouble you went to making this...

    Hi great video! Whenever your auto/manual phrase and broad campaigns produce new converting customer search terms and you want to target these by moving them to a new manual exact do you add this customer search term only (not keyword that produced search term) as a negative exact in all other campaigns?

    • @AdBadgerDen
      @AdBadgerDen  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You add it as a negative exact in the original auto campaign. That's the "B" of RPSB: www.adbadger.com/blog/rpsb-still-the-best-keyword-research-strategy/

    Thank you great video! I have a campaign for all together exact, phrase and broad. In total are like 40 keywords and I been runing it for two weeks. I heard that is better if I create a campaing for each exact, broad and phrase. Have you heard about this? do you think is whorty to change it now thats have been runing for a while?
    Greetings from Spain.

      Yes indeed! If a keyword is a strong performer and gets over 30 orders a month, it’s a good candidate to put into a single-keyword campaign. At this threshold, you’ll have enough data to accurately set placement bids!

    I have a question regarding negative keywords at the phrase level.
    If I had an exact match top performer as "Big Red Shoes"
    I would add "Big Red Shoes" as a negative exact match, correct?
    However; if I wanted to bid at the phrase level for say the keyword "Big Red Shoes for Kids" would I add "Big Red Shoes" as a phrase level keyword, even if I had "Red Shoes" already?

      If you had the Phrase KW, inside that ad group "phrase kw's" you should have the negative exact version of it 👍

      (Assuming you have the positive exact version of that KW in another ad group)

      i didn't understand why if you have a an exact match top performer: "Big Red Shoes", why do you also have to negative it in the same exact match? if it's a top performer?? that's extremely confusing

    So if I am selling metal spoons and someone searches wooden spoons and my product comes up, why would they click on my product when they can clearly see my picture and title? Are we paying just for their view or do they have to click on it, because I'm not sure they would. Thank you in advance

    • @AdBadgerDen
      @AdBadgerDen  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Two reasons:
      1. The example might be extreme, but you will be surprised by what people will search and click on.
      2. You also want as high a click through rate (the rate at which people click on your products and keywords), because it's a positive advertising signal you're sending to Amazon
      You can do reactive negative keyword research by looking at your search terms and then adding the irrelevant/unprofitable terms as negative keywords

    in my report it doesnt work like you explained: if "Wooden spoons" is my broad keyword, I wouldn't appear for "spoons" only... but the broad term refers to exactly these 2 keywords would appear in the search (not just one) in whichever order wiith other added words, because it is of course a broad term.... for example I could appear for " wooden heavy duty spoons", not just "spoons"

      That's really interesting! Are you in our Facebook group? That would be a great place to ask this and crowd-source potential alternative solutions.

    Can you negative exact a keyword in an exact campaign?

    • @AdBadgerDen
      @AdBadgerDen  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You CAN negative exact a keyword in a campaign that only has exact match campaigns, but that essentially the same as pausing the exact match keyword. So if an exact keyword isn't performing well, it's cleaner to just remove it than adding a negative exact.

      Thanks for the feedback! We have try to keep the sound low because our badger likes to scream from the other room and it may blow your eardrums out. We'll try to keep him down and the volume louder next time!
