Yep, hundreds of different sirens sound the same and look the same in UK, we have Gents of Leicester, Klaxon Signals, Secomak, Castle Castings, Carters of Burnley, Carters of Nelson and Parmeko aswell. Most of them have the same port ratios causing the “WWII” like sound 🔊😁
They're called civil defense sirens. They're used to warn you about all imminent threats, not just tornadoes. We have sirens in our area that are along the Santee River that are used to warn you about flash flooding, when they release water out of the Santee Dam, and if the dam breaks.
