  • Used empty propane tanks of all sizes offer quality sheet metal that can be salvaged and modified for all kinds of uses (BBQ, pizza oven, wood stove, fire pit, etc...) Although cutting them up can be very dangerous, this video shows the safety precautions I took before cutting.

      That was gas from the tank lighting from a spark on the grinder lol. Even after purging the tank with water its dangerous. The metal absorbs pockets of gas and is released upon cutting. Should have used dry ice to remove oxygen around the cutting point.

    Sorry about the angle grinder, I thought it was a Bosch at first, but it was a Ryobi. I never burned up a Bosch, but I never burned up a Ryobi because I always use Bosch. Friend, friends don't let friends buy Ryobi.

    love the tool burnout. i got through 2 cheap drills and had to lash out £50 ( 3 times the justifiable amount for a drill) on one to finish the job of removing 4 exhaust studs that had rusted.

    It was funny when the grinder burned out because every Black and Decker power tool I've owned (grinder and drill) burned up very quickly. I've had bad luck with Ryobi too. Ryobi products are only for very light duty. I had a $8 21 pc drill bit set from them and they dulled on the first hole in aluminum.

    • @JoeBakerOutsideTheBox

      The cheap stuff always end up costing more at the end...quality is usually a safe bet...

    • @DragonBuilds
      @DragonBuilds 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@JoeBakerOutsideTheBox Yeah, you're right. My B+D drill cost only $10 less than a Metabo and the grinder was $20 less. I ended up spending the cost of the new tools PLUS the burnt ones and I had the scrub the burnt residue off the garage floor. Fun times.

    Hard to see from the video but could it be that you´re blocking the vent holes on the black piece on the grinder?. I think that would explain why it ran hot. Anyway ... I gave a thumb up for the flames ... and the fact that the thumbnail wasn´t clickbait :-)

      It is dangerous. Auto exhaust can have unburned fuel or oil vapor in it, which can ignite if you cut the tank.
      Your way with the water purge is the safest easy way to avoid stupid mistakes.
