How many times do I wish I would have filmed my 4 kids riding this attraction with me. We are annual passholders and my kids loved this ride as much as I did. It was one of the must do on our list when we would go for the day. I miss this ride and watching this video brought tears to my eyes. Thank you so much for sharing it.
I am so glad to have been able to see this. JAWS was one of the only memorable rides from a very happy time when I was younger. When I heard of it's officially announced date of closure, I was determined to go there, especially since I lived in the area. But I didn't make or save enough money when the day came and I couldn't go. :( I know when I am able to visit Universal Studios sometime around the end of the year (after 12 years since my last visit) I will probably break down and cry for a....
Show me the way to go home, I´m tired and I wanna go to bed... couldn´t have thought of a better way to say goodbye to thise great ride!! great video man! Cheers!!
I'm so happy the video reached you and touched you. I fell in love with the ride myself about a year prior to it closing. I still to this day can not watch any of my JAWS videos or any Final Voyage videos without breaking into tears. If you do go to the parks in Dec and would like to meet up and I can share my full story with you I'd be happy to. if not, that's fine too. Again, so glad you saw this and share my passion for the ride. May JAWS Rest In Pieces. :)
We are here today to bid farewell to the JAWS Ride. And to commit this ride in the Hands of God, JAWS to JAWS... Ocean to Ocean... Shark to Shark... It's as of God, Created The Devil. RIP - Jaws Ride - 1990/1995 - 2012 It might be gone, but never forgotten... I never got the chance to experience this ride... I want to go to Universal Japan so badly... you need to be like a millionaire to go there... I still want to experience this ride to this day. 😭
I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I continue to tear up or just flat out break out in full crying everytime I watch or think about it. may the ride hold a special place in your heart as it does in mine.
After watching this video and hearing that guy's speech about Michael Skipper and his son Mikey. I was curious to see if he still worked at the park, so I look him up and found out that he and his son both passed away in a car accident on 4th of July this year. It just breaks my heart to hear this news I definitely will be praying for his wife and his daughter during this trying time. May him and his son rest in peace. 🙏🏾💔
...bit when I see that huge wooden wall surrounding around the area where Amity once stood. JAWS was a part of my childhood and it really is heartbreaking to see it go. Thanks for posting this video, I'm glad it was given an honorable farewell. :)
I'm sorry you didn't get to be among Skip and the rest of the crew as I am told it was an honor to have worked there esp on the last day. You are not the only one in tears. I filmed it and am STILL in tears over it. I can not watch it without tearing up. I'm glad you liked it and hope it will carry a special place in your heart as it does in mine for life. it was a FINtastic voyage and I miss it dearly.
you are more than welcome. maybe we will run into each other sometime when I'm out at Universal. I'm a passholder as well and always wear my JAWS hat in tribute everytime I'm out there. I watch the video on occasion as well to remind me of what was and never will be again. I'm devistated as many are that it was taken away but it will ALWAYS live in my heart as I hope it does yours.
Hey all. Just watched this video for the first time in a month or so and I STILL cry everytime. it's been almost a year since they closed the ride and I'm still devistated. anyone have stories please feel free to share. I'd love to hear your experiences on JAWS and your stories.
tbh there are actually 4 attractions left that are original to the Universal themepark. YES, E.T. is the last RIDE at the park but there's also the Horror Make-up show, the Animal Actors On Location show, and the band that performs outside the Mels Drive In restaraunt. so sad that JAWS closed. was pleased to be there for the final tear filled day.
John TC9, I was lucky enough that the manager I spoke to in the morning after getting off the first ride (in tears mind you) was the one that would be handing out tickets through the day to 48 lucky people. I was even luckier that she saw that it meant more than the world to me and handed me the first of 48 tickets. I'm just glad I was able to be there for the very emotional goodbye.
ghloroform90. believe me. you can't hear on the video but i am crying when they declare JAWS 10-7 for the last time. i have seen the video several times in the two days since and am still tearing up. i don't think i'll ever be able to hear "Chief, this is Amity 6, Call off the Marines, WE'RE COMING HOME" again without sheding a tear or getting emotional. to have the whole boat say it was the best ending i could have imagined.
JohnTC9, I was on the first ride that day and when I got off i went and talked to one of the manager looking people. I told her I didn't care if I had to stay there all day. she saw I was in tears and told me it would be alright. she then handed me the FIRST of 48 tickets to be on the final ride EVER. i was lucky to get a ticket and even more so that I got ticket 01 of 48. I did nothing but ride Jaws over and over and over again that day.
yeah, i'm so happy i did nothing but ride JAWS the day it closed. I got to see that shark before he went "into hiding" but like i said before, the final voyage and the bittersweetness of it overpowered the fact that the shark wasn't working. hope you enjoyed the video as much as in enjoyed filming it. thanks for stoping by. hope you stop by again soon.
@cheezkid The ride was closed around 6 as they attempted to fix it but with no luck. I guess they need it more time to fix it but with the ride closing down forever in 2 hours & a huge line, they just decided to say that ''he is under the boat''.
I CAN'T watch this or ANY video without getting emotional or crying my eyes out uncontrolably so I know how you feel. as for the shark at the very end, they had a problem with it at around 6 pm (2.5 hours before the final voyage) and though they tried to fix it, it would hae been more time to fix it than there was left time to the closing. it was very disappointing but like i said in an above comment, the final voyage itself was bigger than a broken shark.
@JohnTC9 Oh, no! Even MORE heart-breaking news! D: Jaws broke down in his final hour?!?!?! D': He scared the heck out of me when I used to ride the ride and hes what has made me fear real sharks, but... I'm actually gonna miss those memories on this ride... :'(
cheezkid. JohnTC9 is right they shut the ride down for about a half hour to attempt to fix the problem with the shark but to no avail. I was very sad that it did not work for the final ride however it did not matter as the memories of being on the final ride ever overpowered one minor thing.
Jaws was made in 1975 how do they always get that wrong. Because revenge came out when I was one in middle 86 I saw it one TNT when I was in like in I think it was like elementary school. I don't still know why the alternate ending for revenge is not on the DVD that was in the made for tv cuts.
chloroform90. i have two skippers that i need help on. can you tell me how to properly spell the skipper known as aaron (male) also, could i send you a video i'll post as private and can you tell me who the female skipper in the video is? they were switching skippers and i never got her name.
samaria2206049, I wonder. what ticket number do you have? wonder as well where in the boat you were sitting. i am asking b/c i have an aquaintance that was on the boat and i changed my number with her and she texted me but it never came through. also, do you know any or all of the skippers. i'm making a tribute video and need to know a few spellings and one name.
RIP skip! Gone but never ever forgotten! I had some wonderful times with you brother!

I miss JAWS already, but I love Harry Potter too, but JAWS is always going to be a classic in my heart and will forever live on!!!

7:52 "10 minutes!? WE'LL BE SHARK BAIT IN 10 MINUTES!"
9:29 "CALL OFF THE MARINES! WE'RE COMING HOME!!! 🍺🍾🎉"
I’m sad I never got to ride this, but man I would’ve been scared as a kid! But Harry Potter though, that I LOVE.

R.I.P. Jaws, you're always remembered. 6/7/1990-1/3/2012
I was on the last public ride
It's really insane to see that this whole area has been completely leveled. I'm excited for Harry Potter, but I'm gonna miss this ride.
Show me the way to go home, I´m tired and I wanna go to bed... couldn´t have thought of a better way to say goodbye to thise great ride!! great video man! Cheers!!

3:00 beginning of the final voyage
Miss jaws ride already
yes it is. I still tear up or full out cry everytime I walk through that part of the park.
Attractions Magazine was there on that video.

It has been only 2 months since the infamous closure and I still weep every time I see the video or hear anything I can reference to Jaws.

sonicfanboy2001, what the heck? this is JAWS. NOT Harry Potter.
