I live on an island & on the 11th floor of a major straight away in my city long story short I hear the most crazy rippers all night long some nights I’m so excited others I’m like bruh ! My panda tofu box is loud but I try to let the aunties and uncles sleep most nights
I'm shure it won't, top gun racing, no good racing team, Loop Angels, Late Risers and Osaka loop racing are as strong as ever, and other teams I didn't mention
weve all read the chronicles article mate ;) its calmed down alot in recent years, but it is picking up again slowly by the looks of it. but the police, if they really wanted to could put a stop to it quite easily. public exposure is never a good thing, look how they clamped down on drifting in japan after tokyo drift came out.
Interesting video ! I used to live in the Tokai region of Japan about ten years ago. A few times I stumbled upon illegal street races using cars, or sometimes motorcyle gangs racing around. Sometimes there were heaps of participants and also people standing on the sidewalk cheering as they went past. Usually there was 1 or 2 cop cars making a half-hearted attempt to stop them too !
this is a cool video, i live close to a highway and a big av. here in santiago and they always race in the night, you can hear the straight pipes and turbo explotions, it looks like this is something that doesn't happen in many contries. They are always racing here in santiago (chile).
This video is very cool, I really like this spirit of what JDM originaly is, It gives me a Civic case envy ^^ Btw I went to Osaka and I didn't hear them at all, the heritage seems hard to be kept alive.
Thanks. How long did you visit Osaka for? To get the best chance of seeing it, you'd probably have to stay for a month and be in Shinsaibashi early on Sunday mornings. Between 1 and 5am. ;)
gtirjaymz85 You're welcome. In 2011 I stayed 1 week and in 2014 I stayed only 3 days, yeah it sounds not enough to fall on them. As a result I've spent more time in Tokyo and had the opportunity to experience the Tokyo JDM scene, however Kanjo had always attracted me, but it takes place there in Osaka. Anyway I'll keep travelling in Japan so one day I may see :)
Kanjooooooo! Best part about it is when the police are after the cars in front, the drivers behind chase them! Don't really like hondas but you gotta have respect for kanjo racers! Nice vid man!
Although the exhaust is annoying, it is one of the most important parts of a Honda, especially a Honda, reason being is because the Honda already has a stalling and timing problem with the camshaft so that's why they started that v-tec system so it can help with the problem but since camshaft misruling can effect the exhaust valve very badly, a highperformance exhaust can be necessary, to much air is coming in the engine and not enough is coming out so it takes a while for that v-tec to kick in, when it does, all that extra gas and waste goes straight to the exhaust, and its alought of it do to the clog so I guess its the reason why it sounds like the exhaust is doing most of the work out of the whole car.
You do know that rice, in terms of ricer stands for race inspired cosmetic enhancement, so going by that yes these are ricers as the cosmetic look of the cars is influenced by the race track nearby, they have racing decals on their cars and what not, infact it can be argued that japan is the home of ricers, but they take their cars less serious here compared to the states where if someone puts a daft modification on everyone will call them, where as in japan when people do it they have a laugh at it including the owner, complete different mentality over here than nobody can really understand until they've lived it, talked to them and pretty much experience it first hand. As for the sound well in the states "ricers" or "boyracers" often use civics as they are quick and cheap, therefore the noise of these civics will make you think they sound like ricers when in fact it's a japanese car which they have straight through exhaust system on it for the reason of performance.
-_- ... im very familiar with the term rice and alot of the different car cultures around the would, especially japan. but you miss the point, these are literally race spec cars lol racing tyres, suspension, rollcage ect they dont run number plates and the livery may be race inspired but most of the time they only have the club name on them.
Yeap. Happened to me going 150 on the Sanyo Expressway. Actually there were 2 of us, both of us stopped (other car didn't know where they were going)... he just got an exasperated face when he saw us and like "stupid foreigner" hahaha then let me go after some stern words. Just pretend you don't know the language... Only thing you have to watch out for are the speed cameras -- they will nail your ass for those. But there's always 2 signs beforehand.
Does this racing still happen often? So cool! Hope to go to Japan some day and see this in real life! Does this still happen a lot or have strict laws put an end to this culture & lifestyle? :-(
The one:1 would kill them all but it would crash because of not so strong brakes and only 0 to 60 in 2.7 secs and for the Vtec it would take 2.0 secs to 60
How would you know? It looks slower on the video. Maybe the quoted figure of 200kph was a bit generous, also in this particular video they were perhaps going a little slower. As you will see on my other vids, they are going faster. I was just saying a rough speed that they generally reach. As you can see its a straight road and they get to the top end of 3rd which is 90-100mph, then into 4th. So they MUST be going between 150kph & 180kph at times. 120 is only 75mph... Think before you comment.
Everybody stop complaining about the cars there driving, a civic hatchback isn't rice.its kanjo circuit racing in JAPAN. Those guys probably have a fortune of parts that you will never in your life get a hold of......NEVER. you say rice but those civics probably have more horsepower than a stock Nissan GTR R34,Wichita is 278hp . aftermarket Japanese civics can probably reach 350hp maybe more with those parts.
Mmmm! Imaginationing.... Just did the kanjo is not a preferred choise of big turbos, be is they are so much quicker, They know that already so they do the Wangan Express!
That's awesome man!! I have a honda civic si 98 just like those man!! Mine sounds just like that! Would love to come out there and rip with them! To bad I live in canada! Cop are a lot worst here!
the roads are so perfect in japan
Now I'm going to sleep and will dream of racing in Tokyo.
me too.
Thats fine and all. But this isnt Tokyo.
You mean Osaka?
The same(
Osaka not tokyo
Japan has such an awsome culture
i would like to sit on this guys balcony and watch this stuff. i guess the engine roars are different in real
Yes they are louder! Wakes you up at night but I love it! Lol
+gtirjaymz85 can u see that show many times or its rare ?
You mean the cars pollute with noise
I live on an island & on the 11th floor of a major straight away in my city long story short I hear the most crazy rippers all night long some nights I’m so excited others I’m like bruh !
My panda tofu box is loud but I try to let the aunties and uncles sleep most nights
I always hear these cars everynight at my hotel ._.
Haha sweet! Lol
FrostByte lol
Damn Lucky af
I will trade you jobs or a life.
Lucky af
This is just TOO awesome. Like in a movie. Makes you wonder how long it will go on like this, before the police puts an end to it for forever.
would be great if fast and furious 7 will be in japan but it would be very VERY hard to watch without Paul.. but i like
it's actually died off and nearly extinct compared to the early 90's
andrx04 i hope fast and the furious stay as far away from kanjo racing as possible, that really would be the final nail in the coffin.
I'm shure it won't, top gun racing, no good racing team, Loop Angels, Late Risers and Osaka loop racing are as strong as ever, and other teams I didn't mention

3:50 that eco through the city is why I love this, everyone has there thing but to me thats just the pure essence of everything JDM..... perfection 👌
this is a cool video, i live close to a highway and a big av. here in santiago and they always race in the night, you can hear the straight pipes and turbo explotions, it looks like this is something that doesn't happen in many contries. They are always racing here in santiago (chile).
I bet the neighbors living right next to the highway really love those civics haha.
I would
I am glad i have a civic to myself
great video, i have a question...
some cars have EXTREMELY BRIGHT headlights....
can you say what headlight you use??
They are HID lights.
They are fond and use HID.
How often you see this epic show?
DUDE, that's insane, my dream is to live near those roads...
thanks for this video and keep up with them !
This video is very cool, I really like this spirit of what JDM originaly is, It gives me a Civic case envy ^^ Btw I went to Osaka and I didn't hear them at all, the heritage seems hard to be kept alive.

Oh god everything was so awesome! Its just how i would imagine japans highways in the 90!
Kanjooooooo! Best part about it is when the police are after the cars in front, the drivers behind chase them! Don't really like hondas but you gotta have respect for kanjo racers! Nice vid man!
love the noise
Is the the loop or the ring? The area had the most speed camera's ever seen in Japan.
直管のVTECサウンドは
どの車よりもシビレるなー!
I love Japan also for this !! Greetings from Italy XD
Non ci credo un italiano...chissà se esisti ancora hahaha
@@smallpapa secondo me no hahaha
I love you Japan ... from Brasil!
These guys are crazy! How often do they race during the night?
If you'd upload this daily, i would watch it every day :D
the cops think they can catch up to a JDM built Honda lol good luck cops
if i was a cop and i saw a bunch of civics racing i would just let them be theres no point tryna chase them in a cop car lmao
coolest thing ive seen all week!
This is so awesome, I love raw videos like this. Thanks for the upload gtirjaymz85. ^_^
hey
The song of vtec sounds the best
警察もこんなのと仲良く追いかけっこしてるから、日本ってつくづく平和だなと思う動画でした。

I put earphones in my ears every day and fall asleep listening to this
Any idea on how fast they are going? Makes me wanna go run with them.
Aww man this video is awesome, I've liked and subscribed! Keep the videos coming man!
These guys running de cat or catback systems?
Straight pipe, no silencer at all from the block
Andy Z yepp, dat almost make them ricers. they did not look like a ricer dat much, more the sound
lol so far from it
You do know that rice, in terms of ricer stands for race inspired cosmetic enhancement, so going by that yes these are ricers as the cosmetic look of the cars is influenced by the race track nearby, they have racing decals on their cars and what not, infact it can be argued that japan is the home of ricers, but they take their cars less serious here compared to the states where if someone puts a daft modification on everyone will call them, where as in japan when people do it they have a laugh at it including the owner, complete different mentality over here than nobody can really understand until they've lived it, talked to them and pretty much experience it first hand. everyone knows that cops dont chase you in japan
Only if your going about 140
and then they're give up pursuit cuz thats too much high speed lol
Gabriel Jurgens I got pulled over doing 140 in an 80 near Osaka last year, they saw I had a foreign licence and just told me to srow down! Lol
Ghostara p
Yeap. Happened to me going 150 on the Sanyo Expressway.

This video makes me miss Osaka-Shi so much.
Me too man! We should have met up and seen more of all this!

gtirjaymz85 AWESOME! I'll wait for this!
I enjoyed your clip. Great post.
Does this racing still happen often? So cool!
Hope to go to Japan some day and see this in real life!
Does this still happen a lot or have strict laws put an end to this culture & lifestyle? :-(
do they still race there
LOL the cops took a while just to respond xD
Thanks. I'll try, but Kanjo is a little quiet recently. I have a few other clips but not as good as this. I'll upload them soon!

+Raynor It's the Kanjo Loop, the Kanjozoku. :)
+Haruki Wolf They have been doing this for 30+ years, or close to that, so I imagine they haven't stopped yet.
would a koeningsegg one have a chance against these cars?
-_-
It would demolish them lol
+ Galimah That's not what this is about...
It would probably crash on the first corner
The one:1 would kill them all but it would crash because of not so strong brakes and only 0 to 60 in 2.7 secs and for the Vtec it would take 2.0 secs to 60
Rice burners?
You youngins Clearly don't know what kanjo is
