I agree with putting the smaller boxes into a larger box ,but items should have at least 2 inches between them and the box in case of the sides of the larger box taking a hit. Plus if it's insured, and sent with UPS,they will not find in your favor should you have to file a damage case if there was not those 2 inches of protection.

For those reading, do not rely on "this side up" packing, the carrier absolutely will not honor that. First, a large part of the box movement will be automated on belts and machines and your box will be flipping all around, second, carriers will not apply special handling without charging you more.

I have always heard there is less pressure on dishes in boxes when you place them upright instead of stacked the way you would put them in a cabinet. Another words, on their sides upright when you wrap and place them in a box. Do you know if that is true?

Not sure. We find double boxing pretty effective either way but I would bet if you double box with bubble wrap and peanuts and place in the vertical position that is probably best

Man, you did a nice job covering up the old shipping addresses on all those used USPS boxes, lol. How much did the cost of shipping this set you back?

We take the labels off. Try to use the product called UnDo ;) works like magic. Cost of shipping depends on the destination. Can go anything from $50 to $200.

In my area I'm afraid to label boxes as fragile because I feel like the workers will be rough on purpose.

I hear you… but we have to label it anyways because it is necessary.

Agree that you did a good job in packing but do not agree with using the free USPS boxes to save yourself money.
