I concur about under the battery box. MY w123 was rusted out around the lower hood hinge pin. It's just so involved to repair that area once it rusts out.
My W124 is absolutely rust free. The only place where there's just a bit of rust forming is on the bottom of the front passenger door, like that first W123 you show. I'll have to take care of it this summer.
I have a rust free W123, every time it rained I got about an inch of water on the floor of the back seat. I removed the battery tray and found a hole. I sealed it and the water never came in again
I just got a nice 80 240d ,same for as the one in the vid, well at least the overall condition looks good to me. Garage kept ,etc. I came from vws and VW diesels ,so at least I'm not flying totally blind. I'll check this baby over like you say and see what I've got. I know a little about these cars ,but have alot to learn and hopefully I don't find too many surprises. I guess I'm sorry of lucky that it's a manual trans, so it's not deathly slow it feels close to the VW diesel for acceleration maybe a little slower.
Cool video thanks, Iv just come across your channel looking for advice on Mercedes from the year 2000 onwards. Iv watched a few of your videos so far but have you done any videos about the SBC system on the Mercedes w211 ? I live in the UK and these Mercedes are pretty cheap to buy over here, Iv really got the bug for these cars and how clever they are . And I’m making it my mission to learn how these cars work ! Any advice and help is very much appreciated, thanks again and keep the good work 😎👍
A question about jacking or supporting the 123. At 3.56 in it shows the lift under the sub frame mounting bolts. If this ok? I asked on the UK owners club forum and got 2 replies, one yes and one no!
Great info Kent, your videos has help me & others stop buying the wrong cars. 👏👏👍

Thanks Kent!

Question - on the red vehicle, were those Ziebart plugs on the door that had rusted?
Do a video about the filter inside the fuel tank. Almost no one see's that filter...
I have done numerous videos on this in the past and there is lots of info on my website.
Well, my W124 looked so nice but now I know better. Went almost all the body through...
help with how to fix the rust right under the windshield and wipers how can I replace and or weld this delicate area
I always use these products to repair those delicate non-weldable areas: mercedessource.com/store/search?keys=miracle%20paint

I read on one forum it is best to just jack on the floor. ;-)
@@Mercedessource hello Kent and thank you for all the great videos! I assume that's a joke? It appears in your video that under that big bolt is ok?
I normally use the main frame rails at the front and the rear suspension mounts (like Kent does in this video).
