I was born and raised Mormon/LDS and am a born again Christian. It took me years after leaving the church to have the inner strength to not feel guilty walking into another church. Besides my King James Bible, these books by Dave Hunt are still as relevant as ever.

The bible does not teach that the earth is a spinning ball going around the sun, which is called the heliocentric "theory," that Copernicus created, though it is the most popular belief even among Christians, it comes from the heliocentric "theory" being indoctrinated as scientific fact, for the past 100 years. In 1920 the geocentric earth model was still taught in school, as Biblical cosmology. The Bible didn't get it wrong, just go outside and observe the sun go by, that is how empirical science works, observation, experimentation, and replication. "Theoretical" pseudoscience got it wrong, as Isaiah explained in chapter 14, "I will set my throne ABOVE the stars of God, and I will be like the most high," and all it took was a "theory."

Sadly, there are so many people out there who say the Bible is either a fictional tale, a fallible tale written by men, and/or has been changed by "the telephone game". When I was first born again, I visited the Christian book store to buy a KJV as my friend who led me to Christ warned me about the modern translations. I prayed to the Lord to guide me to a sound Bible teacher as I perused the apologetics section, when I came across In Defense of the Faith, when I saw Dave Hunt's photo, I thought he looked like a very no-nonsense teacher. Thank you Lord Jesus that, I being in the way, the Lord led me to the house of my brethren. I added Evidence That Demands a Verdict, and Walter Martin's, Kingdom of the Cults. Sadly, that was the revised edition by Ravi Zecharias. I pray that I run the race of faith like Dave Hunt. God bless everyone at Koinonia House.
People start to lose faith because the Gospel is not preached the good news is not preached . You have a multitude of churches and pastors and preachers that don't preach the gospel Paul the apostle preached and it's found in 1st Corinthians 15.1-4 believe that in your heart and you shall be saved. The devil got his minions preaching many accursed gospels out there one of the major one is repent of your sins and come to Christ heresy there is no such gospel in the scriptures unless you read the new and erroneous translations of the bible at this present time if you are not willing or have time to study greek or hebrew than stick to the old KJV translation that would be the best you'll ever get and I'm not saying it's perfect but is the best you can get .We are saved by faith in Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross not by works and not by how much we repent of our sins , we do not repent of a sin that's been paid for we let the holy spirit lead us onto a holy life so we can be a light in the darkness and be a good witness onto the unsaved . We are saved by grace and not by works if it's works than is no longer grace .

The truth is: God is too pure to behold evil. God's eyes cannot behold evil because God is pure righteousness. Human flesh became an abomination to God when human beings defied His instruction to not partake of the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil. God could no longer behold the human being without seeing the human propensity for evil...until Jesus was born. God could behold Himself, HIS OWN RIGHTEOUS IMAGE, in the person of His only Son, Jesus. What human father is there who cannot see his own physical likeness in the person of his son? God could look at Jesus and see Himself in His Son. God can again look at human beings, who believe in Jesus, as righteous because HE doesn't see us as human beings of flesh--HE BEHOLDS HIS SON, GOD BEHOLDS THE IMAGE OF HIS OWN SON WHEN HE LOOKS AT A HUMAN BEING WHO HAS BELIEVED IN JESUS--A HUMAN BEING WHO HAS EMBRACED JESUS BY TURNING FROM DISBELIEF AND UNREPENTANCE. Jesus is our intercessor and priest if we believe in the redemptive work of the cross. There is nothing a human being can do to earn this position of God's favor except believe in Jesus and repent and ask for forgiveness. It is God's mercy to human beings through the gift of His only Son when a human being believes and accepts Jesus.

It is why human beings of faith pray "in the name of Jesus" and why human beings of faith "understand" that it is only through the blood of Jesus that was sprinkled on the mercy seat of the Ark of the Covenant that they can "access" God with their petitions of faith and desire. No human priest--male or female--can do this for a human being. It is only Jesus who embodies the priestood in the presence of God. Jesus is our intercessor and priest if we believe in the redemptive work of the cross. There is nothing a human being can do to earn this position of God's favor except believe in Jesus and repent and ask for forgiveness. It is God's mercy to human beings through the gift of His only Son when a human being believes and accepts Jesus.
