It almost seems like it’s hinting at Clancy becoming a Bishop and sacrificing himself for the banditos. Maybe making some sort of compromise with Blurryface. And then the code from the FPE “…if we become them, we must do better.” 👀
I’m not familiar w/Arcane but as you said with Heathens (relates to Suicide Squad and has lore references TØP fans would recognize) this might be the same. Written for Arcane but I can definitely see how it could fit into the Clancy storyline at the end of Paladin. I don’t think they’ll do a video for this song in that context, as there will already be the MV for Arcane coming out this Monday. But we can infer the connection (if we want) Tyler’s voice is sublime when it crescendos with the strings! ❤💛

I don't agree. The devastating prequel left off? Did Clancy try punching NICO in the throat at after Paladan? How'd he get to the piano? Where in The Line is Clancy?
@@Deltaaaaaaaaa which is why we will wait until June to truly know the end. This feels like Tyler sacrificing himself willingly for the people, not him submitting to the Bishops. God/the torchbearer will honor his sacrifice and will resurrect him.
@@ToubYu My understanding is that Tyler didn't really do all the detailed universe building until the hiatus, whilst writing Trench (source, his interview with Zane Lowe for Beats1). So at the time Tyler wrote Blurryface, he was writing about the part of himself that he called Blurryface. Tyler was not yet Clancy and Blurryface was not yet Nico.
The story isn’t done. We already know he is already in part all of the Bishops, that’s why all of their robes are in his closet in Routines in the Night. I think the line “did I disappoint you?” is to the Torchbearer. I think the story he is trying to tell is that the struggle is never really over, and nothing gets done on your own, it’s only through the Torchbearer that you can defeat your demons. I got two faces, Blurry is the one I’m not. He already is Blurryface, aka Nico.
Tyler revealed this morning that the line was written about his grandmas passing but the theory is well done

As someone who has never seen Arcane and knows nothing about it, I totally interpreted the lyrics as Clancy becoming a bishop
Aye! I see that GLOOM DIVISION vinyl in the back😍
Good eye!
Oooo I went to iDKHOW see them June this year :3
Was so hyped to finally get more than Razzmatazz, 1981EP and a few misc songs :P

love your in depth style. keep it up🙌
Thank you!
HOT TAKE: The Line is not lore and you all read into things way too much. The Line is for Arcane written from his experiences of loosing his grandma.
bro then why Palidan strait at the beginning bro

Great dissection of the line 👏🏼
Thank you!
I really like your videos and deep dives. Just wanted to let you know you misspelled “SEQUEL”
Ha! Good catch, thank you.

Where in The Line is Clancy?
There are Theories that Clancy might become a Bishop after he Defeats Nico
Its a prequel, not a sequel. At the end of "The Line" the beginning of Overcompensate.
That could be also - or if you buy into the theory of repeating cycles, it could be both.
@@perligoit’s not the end or sequel. That much is for certain. Tyler said the end will be the END, meaning no more cycles.
@@Deltaaaaaaaaa Yes, I agree. I don't find myself buying into that theory - but I know some do.

Nah
This is random but is Blurryface an in universe album? If it’s not how does the music connect to Dema
Could you further explain what you mean exactly by "in-universe album?"
@ like is it an album that exists within the Dema story made by Clancy or someone
Ah. Yes, I have been operating upon the assumption that it is. There are plenty of pretty explicit references to the lore throughout it.
@ if it is which character made it is it Clancy or someone else
