firstly i knew about them is from billboard when they covered beyonce's song 'why don't you love me'. and it's quite great to get standing ovation by their performences, and listen to this song just makes me believe that they're underrated artist. that's quite a pity... x(

Where have you read that Matraca Berg wrote this song? There's nothing in the album notes that mentions her and all songs are attributed to being written by Miss Potter.
I've also checked the tracks on all of Matraca Berg's albums and Apologies doesn't appear on any of them, also the song doesn't even sound like the style of music she sings?

Matricia didn't write it. Grace was on Bobby Bones and said she wrote it when she was a teenager.
Matricia wrote "Me and Tequila". Kenny Chesney heard Grace sing this song and asked her to record "Me and Tequila" with him.
