So Phenom won by spamming throw every chance he got because he found that was EW's one weakness, ok. EW beat him at neutral, aggression and strategy so Phenom resorted to just cheese it, riveting.
Tbh I was an Xbox pad doubter, the old ones weren't great for fighting games and I always loved the tactile rubber Nintendo style dpads, but after sceptically trying a new Xbox pad I'm a convert. The clicky dpad is the most responsive, easiest to be accurate with dpad on the market. I'd say PS4 dpad is slightly better than PS5, but Xbox Series dpad beats them both. Wii U Pro controller is actually my favourite to use, but I'm more accurate with an Xbox pad, as is everyone else I've had try one back to back with a PS controller.

@@arieljd1 the xbox series x pad sh*ts all over the PS4 and PS5 pad, you're not wrong about shoulder buttons but PS pad buttons also constantly break and have to be replaced if used intensively for fighting games. your statement about the d-pad position is subjective, all you have to do is get used to it.
Ending walker takes lots of risks and sometimes it hurts him like in this scenario. I will say though that on that last CA he made a decent read… he saw the jab come out and went through with the CA. The drive rush allowed for a faster recovery though and phenom was just barely able to block.
@@Kuonit’s all about knowing your frame data. A medium or heavy gets caught in that scenario. He just panicked. I always input the CA on wake up, but I watch the opponents button. If they show a throw, a medium or Fierce I put it out there. If I don’t see them press anything I don’t complete the input button.
@@Groovingonemdude the jab is there in order to bait the ca. you can “react” to a jab all you want but it doesn’t mean anything. There’s a lot of set ups involving the jab even without drive rush…

The drive rush jab is even worse to try and react to because it has better startup and recovery than the normal one. Ending walker fell for the trick but it’s very easy to react to if you aren’t panicking or nervous like he was. It’s simple…See a jab, don’t throw out a high risk move, a medium, heavy, or a medium overhead are typically safe but know your data on the mediums. DJ, Luke. Juri have some great ones and sometimes they can go out and return, leaving you exposed.
EW plays like how I used to play, like pure instinct, pure unorthodox because you don't really lab frame data and all that crap, just situations and spacing and strong gimmicky baits with young reactions

watching Phenom in that first game is the stuff that pisses me off in this game. He had one actual hit confirm off of a DR cancel. Every other time was him doing DR jab. It's such a stupid and boring gameplay aspect of SF6. I don't hate this game, but make no mistake, I hate DR jab. The fact you can use this strat for an entire set and win, Capcom please nerf this trash. EDIT: Phenom did it the entire set.
