I didn't have a date back in high school and my friends and I were too cheap to rent a limo so my friends' dad drove us. ALSO, We wanted to recreate the prom entrance from 21 Jump Street so we had my friend's sister throw paper cranes out of the car. It was a baller time :D
Jennifer Le I don't have a group of friends >. < I have one best friend and some other friends who I'm not super close with like it's more like acquaintance and half friendship i guess you could say... so I don't really have a group T^T my best friend doesn't really want to go either...I'll figure it out when the time comes
JENN, SAME. I'm literally watching all of these promposals on TH-cam and my prom is this Saturday...I has no date, but I'm going with friends...who have dates...BUT OH WELL XD
Theresa Doan A girl for my prom came in an all white fancy jumpsuit either alone or with a friend I forget but she looked amazing. Honestly one of my favorite outfits of the night. Wear what you are comfortable in but its still fun to dress up since its usually rare.
Boi that’s way better! Well I think that I would actually rather go to prom just so I could have my friends with me and I probably wouldn’t have a bf lol.
Haha my boyfriend took me to senior ball when I was a freshman. It was weird at first, but I was just glad to spend a full day with him ^w^. He's actually going to UCSD this year haha
I had someone light tea candles in their room and arranged them so they said "prom?" for my promposal... they fire hazard aspect of it really dampened the experience. I was more worried about putting out the candles so the house wouldn't burn down instead of being excited about going to prom .
I never went to a prom when I was in high school, it was more of my decision and it doesn't bother me much, but if I was more aware of the Jenn's at my school I woulda wanted to go!
I feel you Jen, I feel you. I never thought prom was that big either, and went with some friends too lol. I got my dinner for free though, since the waiter spilled ketchup on me.
prom was horrible for me... i moved from florida to california my senior year so most people had their "set" of friends already that they took 3-4 years carefully curating and by the time prom came around everyone knew who was going with who and what group. i didn't even want to go, but my mom insisted i go "for the memories." i was never asked to prom by anyone and i didn't have any friends, so my mom asked her friend if her son could go with me... it was so embarrassing and awkward. we just did the bare minimum of just showing up at prom; there was no limo, no group of friends' pics, no romantic dancing, no after-party... we barely even talked. UGH.
I went to high school pretty broke. Aside from cup noodles and Arizona tea every once a week or so, I couldn't afford anything mostly because of SATs, ACTs, and AP tests. We had a club at school that assigned us bags of snacks to sell around campus to pay for these tests; turns out it was "illegal" to do so, so for senior year, I was really struggling. It was unfair that I had to see my classmates go out to Sadies, Homecoming, and Prom every year, and the FOMO hurt me so much to the point I almost became a complete shut-in. I was glad to be part of theater and choir over there. Normally in other schools you'd have to pay a stupid fee to be part of performing arts programs, but I only had to manage the costumes and the choir uniform. During senior year, my band/choir director gave me a ticket to prom out of nowhere, and I broke down. I kept telling myself that it was probably because I backed a lot of altos and sopranos and helped him maintain the notes for those sections, then he told me that he did it of his own volition. Prom wasn't as memorable otherwise lol but when I got that ticket, it gave me hope that I could find some way to be a part of something no matter how poor I was.
I went to prom for sophomore, junior, and senior year. Sophomore year was fun. Junior year was decent. Senior year (this year) was boring because, honestly, I was over it by then. All they played at this year's prom was rap music that no one could dance to. And, after two years, the general prom formula gets pretty boring. Buut the after party for senior year was pretty fun, even though planning it was really stressful.
I made a poster that said "Micky needs Minnie & Tigger needs Pooh and I need to go to Prom with you" haha. When I was asking her, the school news people wanted to record it so it was actually broadcasted to every TV in the school. She cried and said yes :) I usually never comment on videos, but I just wanted to say I don't know why no one asked you Jenn, but you're one of my favorite people in WongfuProductions because you're super chill and sweet. Any guy would be BLESSED to have you as a prom date!
My senior prom date promposed by giving me Wong Fu's Awkward Turtle stuffed animal and a poster that said "It would be turtly awkward if you didn't go to prom with me." Best promposal ever.
MyOnlyStarDream BROOOOO! I'M SO TRASH FOR KPOP! NJSJSJSSJSJ! V IS MY BAIS IN BTS AND DID YOU HEAR JIMIN IS GOING TO BE IN A DRAMA? HSSJXHHCDJWOKASKSMSMSKJS
My school had a junior prom and a senior prom. Senior prom I went stag but shared a limo with a bunch of other friends and their dates. I got half a pity slow dance at the end of the evening to Eve 6's "Here's to the Night." And I didn't go to junior prom - I went to Italy with my Latin class instead.
Phil!!! Northgate's ball is may 28th and it's the only dance I've gone to in high school and I hope that it'll be great like you say it is! I wish I could've taken Ashley or Jen
i didn't want to go to prom unless i had a date, but i went with a friend and we had a lot of fun! for me, prom was important because i was always a tomboy growing up but was starting to get more into "girly" things, so prom was a way for me to really shine in my dress and hair and whatever and feel beautiful! that's the part i'll always remember.
I only went to my senior prom. We had a trip to Disneyland for a symphonic band competition and he asked me in the hot tub at the place everyone was staying at. The thing was is that throughout the whole trip I kept sayin how much I loved Disneyland and even watched the fireworks together the day after he asked. In short my date had the possibility of asking me in front of fireworks at one of my favorite places but asked me at a hotel instead.
I really wanted to go to Prom during my senior year but I was a loner throughout my H.S. year. But I'm glad I didn't go because I'll be that one kid sitting down the whole night. Jen is relatable because we aren't the cool kid that have many friends.
I can relate with Jenn so much in this video. I went with friends and didn't make a big deal out of it. It was fun but definitely not the highlight of high school.
My senior ball was at the Exploratorium in San Francisco and I ended up making super early plans with a group (as a ninth wheel). After the majority of planning was done, the limo rented, and the dress drama dealt with, I found out one of my guy friends (who obviously had a crush on me) wanted to ask me. People were dropping hints about someone asking and I did not wanna deal with it because I didn't feel the same way. Every time someone dropped a hint, I told them, if anyone was gonna ask, I would say no, even with an extravagant promposal. Luckily he didn't ask, and I didn't cause a scene. It was the Exploratorium, so going as a ninth wheel wasn't even that bad. I'm a science nerd and most of the exhibits were open so I just went around playing with the exhibits.
My original prom date ended up not being able to go last minute, the week before prom because the school messed up his credits but in the end I went with a good friend of mine who didn't have a date. The night turned out really memorable and fun. Prom is a good one time experience
Went to junior and senior prom. Got asked to junior prom by a good friend (who i briefly dated after). Found out after-the-fact that the guy I had a previous on-again-off-again crush on wanted to ask me, but I already had a date at that point so he didn't get the chance. My prom date and I stopped dating because he was under the impression that I still liked on-again-off-again crush guy (which was not true, but I understood). Senior year mutually agreed to go with a friend (asked each other at the same time and we briefly dated after). Found out years later that my former friend had a huge crush on my prom date and was furious that he and I were going together. Apparently she was trying to "sabotage" my rep behind my back, but no one believed her so I never heard of it. (That and my oblivious nature at that time kept me out of all the major prom drama. phew). No promposals, but had a blast anyway. I would not have wanted a promposal (i hate being the center of attention). Went with a large group of friends both times. After-prom was the best. Both great experiences.
I had prom a couple of weeks ago. I went with my friend and I wasn't going to go but he said he wasn't either and I thought that he should experience it because he won't get another chance. we're both seniors but our prom is juniors and seniors together. I never understood the whole thing about separating juniors and seniors because (at least at my school) a lot of the juniors and seniors are friends so it makes it more fun
Junior year, went with my older sister(senior) and her date and group. Some of them had dates and some went alone in the group as well. I was going to ask one of the girls in the group to dance but I chickened out. Senior year, went with a group of friends. I was going to ask on of them to dance, but was waiting for a slow song but it never came up again. Plus, another one of the people in the group asked me to dance but she started doing the robot...haha
We had Jr/Sr Prom (small-town school). Junior year I was planning on going stag but then a friend from another town's school asked to go to my prom with me because his friend liked my friend, but my friend turned him down because she didn't want me to go by myself. So that's how I got a date to my junior year of prom. It was fun. Going with a friend meant no pressure - though afterwards everyone kept asking us why we didn't date because we were cute together. Then he kinda just disappeared and we stopped hanging out. Then senior year was the worst! Again I had no date. Neither did several of my friends so we decided to go together. Every year the Jr class paid for prom, which included a meal. That year the Jr class said they were only serving small snacks so my friends decided we would go eat. Everyone but me decided on Long John Silver's. Yeah. Then at the prom they all hooked up with guys at the prom, leaving me alone. During the fun party songs I danced, but whenever a slow song came on I was on the wall. Two of my guy friends asked me to dance because their girlfriends told them to because they felt sorry for me. Then another classmate since elementary school asked me to dance. He kept trying to pull me close to him and was doing some grinding-like moves. But he reeked of cigarettes so I stiff armed him the entire song. After prom my school always has an after prom party. Only one of my friends said she wanted to go. The plan was to go home, change, then meet at the YMCA (where the party was being held). I forgot something in my house so as I got out of my car to go back inside, I slammed my thumb in the car door. The rest of the night I had a purple, swollen thumb. My friend never showed up. All my other classmates were enjoying the rock climbing wall which I couldn't climb because of my bum thumb. So I was stuck alone watching movies. Someone finally remembered I was there and told me everyone was now roller skating so I should join. They had been skating for a while by the time I got my skates. Because of my bum thumb, it took a long time to lace up. Then by the time I finally was ready, everyone was done skating. A classmate expressed they felt bad that I would be skating alone. I said don't worry I'd just go around a couple of times then be done. As soon as my skate hit the floor, I fell back right on my butt in front of everyone. Needless to say, my experiences with prom aren't pleasant memories. The first, the beginning of a lost friendship and the second, one of the most humiliating nights of my life.
My prom was juniors and seniors together and then freshman and sophomores were able to attend as dates only. We didn't have a prom for just juniors or just seniors with their dates.... my graduating class only had 331 students
I went with a group of my closets friends. 2 of them had dates and my friend and I did not. We joked of being each others date. We had fun, we were the last group at prom (everyone else went to after parties) and we got 30mins of just my friends and singing and dancing to songs we requested!
The only reason I went to Prom was because it was Harry Potter themed and there was karaoke. They even had owls to greet you when you got there! It was pretty cool.
I RELATE TO JENN SO WELL and promposals were fun to watch but can't relate lmao 🤷🏻♀️ I went to prom junior year, and didn't have a gr8 time, and senior year, prom was on my friend's birthday so we spent the entire day in LA + went to MUJI for the first time 😏 better than Prom!!
Dont be an idiot like me and try a giant promposal freshman year with a girl you barely know and do it in the middle of the school. I got some pretty strong Promposal PTSD.
I asked a girl, let's call her Terry, to prom. Terry said, "I would like to go to prom with you, but I'm hoping someone else would ask me. If we both don't have dates, I'd love to be your date." I get upset and talk to a mutual friend, let's call her Sally, about what happened. I tell Sally, "I'm pissed that Terry just wants me to be her back up, but don't tell her I told you that " Few days later, Terry calls me telling me Sally told her everything. Then she tried to justify how she said no. Ahhh good times.
For my year 11 leavers I literally just sat in the lobby with a couple of friends and chilled. It was better than sneaking in alcohol and spilling it over the dance floor.
A lot of my friends went to the senior prom that my school had, but I just stayed home and spent time with my family and then used the money for better things later. It turned out to be a great choice because I was probably allergic to the food there and my best friend said I didn't really miss out, especially since it was too crowded and I wouldn't have liked the music since it wasn't chosen by students, again. Also, I hadn't been interested in it to begin with.
My experience was similar to Phil's: At the time, my family owned a Baskin Robbins (Ice cream shop) and the one who I asked really likes Rainbow Sherbet, so I made an ice cream cake with "Will you go to prom with me?" written on top. We lived really close to each other, so I texted her to meet me at a good middle of where we lived. And like Phil, she said no and that she had no plans to go. I ended up just going with friends just for the experience and at the time, I bboy'd, so even without a date, I still had plenty of fun, cyphering (dancing) in a circle with a bunch of my friends The one who I asked DID end up going, but I don't know whether she had a date or not.
STAG SQUAD 🌟 don't feel ashamed or let anyone shame you for not going to prom/going by yourself! you do you 😊
I didn't have a date back in high school and my friends and I were too cheap to rent a limo so my friends' dad drove us.
ALSO, We wanted to recreate the prom entrance from 21 Jump Street so we had my friend's sister throw paper cranes out of the car.
It was a baller time :D
Jennifer Le I don't really want to go to prom cause all my friends have dates and are forcing me to go so Stag Squad for Life
Jennifer Le Stag Squad! My friend stole my potential date. It's ok though, I had a bomb ass group. And I didn't make a big deal out of it either.
Jennifer Le I don't have a group of friends >. < I have one best friend and some other friends who I'm not super close with like it's more like acquaintance and half friendship i guess you could say... so I don't really have a group T^T my best friend doesn't really want to go either...I'll figure it out when the time comes
HappyWendy2234 haha depends on how your school does it but in Australia it's normally a formal dinner
All the guys from Jenn's class are probably regretting not taking her now
prolly not
I helped a friend do their promposal. I became a photographer, an interior designer, a chef, a waitress, an art director and a third wheel.
#wingmanoftheyear
3 years late response but this made me laugh a little too hard 🤣🤣 soo can relate
JENN, SAME. I'm literally watching all of these promposals on TH-cam and my prom is this Saturday...I has no date, but I'm going with friends...who have dates...BUT OH WELL XD
OH WHALEEE! Hope you have fun nevertheless :)
Theresa Doan A girl for my prom came in an all white fancy jumpsuit either alone or with a friend I forget but she looked amazing. Honestly one of my favorite outfits of the night. Wear what you are comfortable in but its still fun to dress up since its usually rare.
That's how I went... all my friends had dates. I danced with everyone and their dates. Have fun!
I got asked to prom with a Wong fu themed poster! :)
Whaaa?? That's so dope!

Boi that’s way better! Well I think that I would actually rather go to prom just so I could have my friends with me and I probably wouldn’t have a bf lol.
I wonder if any of Phil's past "girls" watch and remember and they're like "he's talking about me"
heheh, i went to Japan instead. #worthit
I went to Germany during my high-school prom:)
How did Jenn not get asked out to prom?! That boggles my mind 😭
every time Jenn spoke I just yelled "ME, ME, ME" & I AGREE" to my computer #stagsquad
LOL here to rep yallz 👍🏼
Will YOU go to Prom with me??
I would! :D
Wong Fu Prom? O:
Yes
yes!
Haha my boyfriend took me to senior ball when I was a freshman. It was weird at first, but I was just glad to spend a full day with him ^w^. He's actually going to UCSD this year haha
OMG JENN IS SO CUTEEE!!!
I had someone light tea candles in their room and arranged them so they said "prom?" for my promposal... they fire hazard aspect of it really dampened the experience. I was more worried about putting out the candles so the house wouldn't burn down instead of being excited about going to prom .
"Stag means alone"
XD gotta love Tay
Still remembered phils story from the awksome adventure episode
Kristin Yeh TANYAAAAAAA!
JENN WILL U GO TO PROM WITH ME
9:22 Ash: "He's basically saying it wasn't grate." I see what you did there. Grate pun. Also, Taylor cheese puns are always Gouda.
the mini 'tux' drama cracked me up 😂
Jenn is sooo cute. We're like kindred spirits. LOVE YOU JENN. *hugs*
SRE Same here!! I think they only played ONE slow song, the rest was like electric dub step or rap.
*MY SCHOOL DOESN'T EVEN HAVE A PROM*
My prom is in June, a WEEK before our exams.....yay senior year. Sigh xD
I made a poster that said "Micky needs Minnie & Tigger needs Pooh and I need to go to Prom with you" haha. When I was asking her, the school news people wanted to record it so it was actually broadcasted to every TV in the school. She cried and said yes :)
I usually never comment on videos, but I just wanted to say I don't know why no one asked you Jenn, but you're one of my favorite people in WongfuProductions because you're super chill and sweet. Any guy would be BLESSED to have you as a prom date!
Same, Jenn.
My senior prom date promposed by giving me Wong Fu's Awkward Turtle stuffed animal and a poster that said "It would be turtly awkward if you didn't go to prom with me."
Best promposal ever.
My favorite Prom memory was when I asked my date to Prom, then she took it back two days before...... Good times....
It's my Farewell ball tonight for my final year at collage and I'm not going. Gonna be catching up on some Wong Fu videos.
Y'all are the best.
Jenn's so cute in here! can't help laughing & smiling along with her. all her gestures & expressions. want to hug her so much! haha...

I am jenn.
Is the next one your 100th episode?!?! Low key just binge watched them all ;p
I had to get pizza to rewatch this while eating with you guys!!!
Omg yessss the drama
I only went to my senior prom. We had a trip to Disneyland for a symphonic band competition and he asked me in the hot tub at the place everyone was staying at. Jen's prom experience sounds JUST like mine. my prom was in 2012, and i went stag. it was my first time really going out at night.
Omg this is making me want to show you guys my whole prom experience 😭❤ My prom was last weekend and I had a great time! 👍👍
Looking good, Phil! That hair makes you look younger! ^ - ^
I'm sorry, the pizzas looked amazing! I was listening & looking at everyone's individual pies! Phil your pizza looks yummers! Can I have a slice?
See Phil's animated story of the homecoming dance.

Rebekah Nappa Lol I had more fun at my friends prom than my own prom I can so relate. Both years wasn't a giant deal to me.
My school has a junior-senior prom. So both juniors and seniors are at the same prom, but seniors have their own senior night too
thank you !! finally someone said ''you don't have to go if you dont want to''
i love these
At my school of less than 50 per class, we have a combined junior and senior prom. I went with a group of friends and i had a ton of fun both times.

my prom-posal: my boyfriend at the time sang, the longest time by Billy Joel, for what felt like the longest time lol
1. i went with a group of friends and 2. our limo broke down so the company gave us a party bus...yea thats basically it xD

My Prom is in two weeks! I'm gonna be 5th wheeling it since the two friends I'm going with have dates but it'll still be fun!! 😁
In my country we don't have those kind of things , thank GOD !!! I found it very very stressful the whole situation
ok taylor's "cheesy" promposal was actually really good i would love it if someone asked me to prom like that
yay Jenn! I went with just my friends as well >.

*cries* i loved my whole senior prom experience! my promposal was Tangled themed and he put "PROM?" on homemade lanterns ~
Party bus with friends ftw!
God damn Phil! Did you ask them to pour law clippings on your pizza?
My prom was juniors and seniors together and then freshman and sophomores were able to attend as dates only. We didn't have a prom for just juniors or just seniors with their dates.... my graduating class only had 331 students
I went with a group of my closets friends. 2 of them had dates and my friend and I did not. We joked of being each others date. We had fun, we were the last group at prom (everyone else went to after parties) and we got 30mins of just my friends and singing and dancing to songs we requested!
I like simple things soo three roses is perfect or even just a flower would have beeen cuteeee :)
The only reason I went to Prom was because it was Harry Potter themed and there was karaoke. They even had owls to greet you when you got there! It was pretty cool.
This is funny because I actually went to prom with a date, but we ended up watching Wong Fu and some kdramas the entire time 😂
Omg i just got asked to prom today and this shows up in my subscription box COINCIDENCE? 😂
I RELATE TO JENN SO WELL and promposals were fun to watch but can't relate lmao 🤷🏻♀️
I went to prom junior year, and didn't have a gr8 time, and senior year, prom was on my friend's birthday so we spent the entire day in LA + went to MUJI for the first time 😏 better than Prom!!
oh my god Jen at 6:14 !!! XD
When Phil mentioned home coming, was that the same story as the one in the Awksome Adventures?? It was the first thing that came to my mind hehe
Dont be an idiot like me and try a giant promposal freshman year with a girl you barely know and do it in the middle of the school. I got some pretty strong Promposal PTSD.
first time watching wong fu's video before 1000!
Lol for my school jr and seniors have the same prom
Phil's Homecoming story was told in Awksome Adventures
JEN YOU CUTIE AWW
I asked a girl, let's call her Terry, to prom. Terry said, "I would like to go to prom with you, but I'm hoping someone else would ask me. If we both don't have dates, I'd love to be your date."
I get upset and talk to a mutual friend, let's call her Sally, about what happened. I tell Sally, "I'm pissed that Terry just wants me to be her back up, but don't tell her I told you that "
Few days later, Terry calls me telling me Sally told her everything. Then she tried to justify how she said no.
Ahhh good times.
My school did junior senior prom too! I don't think anybody was really upset that they didn't have their own. Good times :)
I skipped that thing for my Track team to runthe 4x800 at the D1 Track and Field State Meet LOLOLOLOLOL
I was asked to senior prom by a good friend of mine at Disneyland while we were watching fireworks 🎇🎆 it was cute!
I ended up just going with friends just for the experience and at the time, I bboy'd, so even without a date, I still had plenty of fun, cyphering (dancing) in a circle with a bunch of my friends
The one who I asked DID end up going, but I don't know whether she had a date or not.
