This is the best propagating string of hearts I’ve seen! I wish I had watched this one first. Alot of my cuttings rotted because I didn’t know about the tubers. I cut too close to the end of strand. My string of hearts has a lot of tubers so I’m excited and have a lot of confidence I know where I went wrong. Thank you Liz you truly are the best teacher!
I had wondered if that’s the cuttings I gave you. My god! 😍 Everything I give you thrives, so impressive. I’m honestly in awe of this growth! You’re the queen of plants. Really enjoyed this video, keep up the great work ❤️ Hi baby P, he’s looking as cute as ever🥰
It sure is. The 5 pots I propagated at the end of this video have doubled in size as well. That is one prolific plant you gave me. By next year, I'll have a variegated waterfall on my balustrade and hopefully, the biggest leaf of variegated SOH. Have a Great Day my Gemmy Jem.😘 🤗❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Thanks for watching! Hope you find one. They bring so much joy to me. It's one of the two plants I first say "Hello" to in the morning and the last one I say "Goodnight" to. 🤗
Hi! Liz🤗 I love this plant. I bought a 4 inch pot with 5 butterfly cuttings 2yrs. ago and now I have lots of propagate 😁. The longest it measure is 9'. The tuber is grown like 2" and still going. I find that its better to propagate during spring because your right it takes them forever to root if its cold. Also some sun makes difference if you want it to get thick and a bit blush pink💗 plus grow faster. Highly recommend this for plant lovers coz its like succulent when it comes to watering. Hope everyone enjoy their 💜💜💜👍
That's wonderful. I love, love , love, love this plant.😊 My 3 meter long non variegated died a few years ago and left me with one large tuber(no leaf). After a year and a half of loving it to life, it produced the biggest and longest SOH I've ever seen. Have a wonderful weekend!
I am receiving my Variegated String of Hearts on the 10th and I'm so excited! Thank you for this video as it will definitely help when it comes time to propagate mine. My non variegated is currently growing under my grow light with tremendous growth and will soon begin trailing. Thank you, thank you thank you for those videos as well. Stay safe and I look forward to more of your videos.
Thanks for watching and sharing Brandon. I have a String of Spades growing like mad on water at the moment. A friend gave me a tiny cutting(2 inches, 2 leaves) and it's growing so fast. When it comes to growing succulent, one should never generalized as some species do love water.
I love this plant so much. Mine goes in full sun for about 4 hrs a day in summer though. Winter time, new growth is green until spring comes around. You say too much sun loses variegation, I wonder now if Ive been doing the right thing. Everything variegated comes in under the grow light in winter and even then, the variegation dulls. My west rainbows have gone very dark under grow lights this year. I wonder if they would be better off somewhere else.
Depends on the grow light. These ones started life under the grow light where they flourished and even in winter(indoors), they kept growing and even flowering.
Well, that was good timing! I dragged mine which I had planted in basket and stuck on a bottom shelf only this morning. I had to unthread it from round the shelf! A couple of pieces are nearly 2 metres I think and it has apparently been flowering for some time. Can I really hang the basket outside with shade (sonetimes) and sun as well. I tried some other string things in some shade under cover and they are all on the way out! Is there an ideal place for the strings? Thanks Liz I would really appreciate your help with this.
my doughter dropped my SOH pot and I just saw that its dying all strings damaged from top but leaves looks little bit dry not dead yet . can I repot the strings in soil directly or I should cut the nodes and try to start over growing the leaves without string 😭?
I love this plant. Managed to propegate 2 pots from cuttings. But sadly all pots were attacked by mealy bugs and tht cottonny pest I duno the name. So frustrating.. In my case neem oil wasn't enough to combat them pests😭😭😭
I find that if the soil was left to dry up for too long, mealybugs attack them. The ones I keep constantly let dry and watered, seems to be better in handling mealy bug attack.
I just bought VSOH and I cannot wait for it to get here! I am so excited.❤🥰

Thank you for sharing this one, Liz🥰 Thank you again for the String of heart, they are growing very well, I will propagate them too😍
Wonderful!
this i have plenty of and no problem growing. I believe that there are slow growing strains ..yours are sooooooo looooong! pretty!
My old one is still slow. So there's definitely a fast and slow strain.
@@GrowingSucculentswithLizK yup i believe that too...i had a slow growing strain, eventually died of overwatering :(
Liz has inspired and taught me so much!! Thank you Aunt Liz!! I get roots forming in less than 2 weeks w water propagation.

Show us how you attach the water catcher below your hanging plant
Thanks for the idea. Will definitely do a video on this topic. Thanks for watching.

Will do a video of when I take my SOHsss outside. Maybe next week when it's not raining.
Can you please make a video on how you get the string of ruby necklace to look like grapes?😍😍😍😍
I will add that to my list. Thanks for the idea.

Just roll it up like in this video and plant it in soil and water when top soil dries up. Also place all the leaves in the soil. Good luck.
Thank you Liz
Kisses to baby P 😘😘
