Great job. I enjoyed the show. If I can ask you as you finally started it it was making a clicking before turning over which I am very familiar with. What makes this happen? Could it just be a solenoid? Put up with this for at least 3 years now. Give it a bit extra battery power and always goess.
Hello, I have the same model John Deere. Starts great, runs great. After it heats up, when I turn it off, it doesn't want to start again. I thought it was the valves where too tight after heating up, took that apart, cleaned them and took a tiny bit off the lengths of the valve stems. Same problem, I guess it's the carb somehow flooding although I've cleaned it out multiple times. I wonder if the float is allowing too much gas in after it's been running, perhaps it gets stuck open. Nice set of videos you put together. Thank you.
If you think your carb is flooding after your mower gets hot try draining the fuel out of the bowl and see if it starts. Also you can pull the fuel line off the carb and see how well your fuel pump is working when it gets hot too. The only thing I have seen that can be another issue is the valve seats. If you have one that is cracked then it will expand when it gets hot causing a loss in compression. Try doing a compression test when the mower is cold and when it hot and won't start.
@@LowQualityFilms-in1og Thank you. I've tried all but the draining of the carb. I'm usually great with small engines but this one has me stumped. I know it's not the valves because I just took that apart, and they were tight and soiled, cleaned the head, then removed some of valve stems and they are now perfect. The fuel pump flows great. I'd thought about the ignition coil going bad when it's heated up, but still that makes no since because it doesn't shut down. It only happens after it's warmed up and I shut it off. I've gifted this mower to my neighbors young teens to mow their huge yard, but I still have to tinker with it for them. Overall it's a great machine, and was gifted to me, so I passed it on.
