I grew up in Edmonds, WA. I went through Kingston via ferry exactly twice since having lived in this area since 1991. One day I am going to visit this island for its beauty.

I grew up in West Seattle. Used the Winslow boat with the family, but started using the Edmonds boat do to all the construction on the waterfront.
I've been on all the ferry routes, and my favorite is the San Juan.
Logged hundreds of hours on the Winslow and Edmonds route

Isn't it beautiful? I Live 5 minutes from here and walk the marina every day. These boats are a lot of fun during Oyster Fest when a hundred Harleys, Victories, and Indians startup inside this steel tube.

The M/V Puyallup (with sister ships Tacoma and Wenatchee) is part of the largest class of ferries in the WSF fleet, the "Jumbo Mark II" class. Each Jumbo Mark II can carry 202 cars and a total (drive-on and walk-on) of 2,499 passengers. They are 460 feet (140 meters) long and have a beam of 90 feet (27 meters). They were built in 1997, '98, and '99.

BTW, for any who don't know, "Puyallup" is pronounced pyoo-al-uhp, not poo-yal-uhp, despite what the romanized spelling would have you believe.

William Cheung very cheap. Washington considers Ferry's to be an extension of a highway, so it is highly subsided. I paid about $9 if memory serves.
Trip wa as about 30 minutes or less.

The ferry takes approximately 25-30 minutes. The cost varies by season.
In the winter, it's currently $15.35 for the car & driver (paid both directions) and $8.50 for each additional person or person walking on (paid westbound only).
In the summer, it's currently $19.15 for the car & driver (paid both directions) and $8.50 for each additional person or person walking on (paid westbound only).

At what point do you have to pay the fee when using the ferry?
