  • This video is about a day-trip to Nördlingen, Bavaria, Germany, a small medieval town which is build on the biggest meteorite crater in Europe, called Nördlinger Ries. This crater is about 15 Million Years Old.

    Interesting video if you like old German towns, but hopeless you were expecting anything on the crater structure (cross section?) or the meteor material/type, size, direction or weight or what fragments have been found etc etc.

      Unfortunately it´s hard to find any detailed information about the meteor. There is actually a museum in the town called "RiesKraterMuseum" but it was closed at the time i visited it.
