Lol I've watched the mv so many times but didn't even realise it until now
Fan fact: It was an actual explosion. You can see it in the MV Behind The Scenes video that the whole set (And all other sets. I think that BLACKPINK used green screen only in Whistle MV which is their debut song) was build (Like in 99% of YG MVs) and that was a real explosion!
It was even shown how the girls had to clean themselves from the dust and they said they even had some in their eyes after filming this scene!

Jisoo and Rosé are killing their weaker selves. Jennie has that black and white theme in reference to the contrast between a healthy and a toxic relationship (my opinion).. Lisa's scene at begining is a reference to the "express love" looks great, but it's really empty, feels like heaven.

Funfact Lisa has a knee injury in this era but no one notice it since she spoke about in YWY S3 where she's a dance mentor. What's make it more shocking is in Kill This Love, Lisa has a kicking choreography but still she manage to do every promotion professionally and effortlessly looking good as if no injuries she's enduring.
Plus they were in the middle of a WORLD TOUR CONCERT!! Where she had the solo dance plus all the setlist… she is crazy, none would even know if she didn’t talk about it in ywy this year like the shoulder injury during hylt, we didn’t know before jennie said that she saw lisa taking some pain killer

ROSÉ is the golden voice of Korea and is the most complete and integral member of blackpink, that says it all, she is an integral artist.
BlackPink doesn’t use CGI as a rule, especially back then. I think they are just starting to incorporate enormous LCD screens (Lisa’s solo work) that was pioneered by the Mandalorian.
Did you notice that everytime Rosé's hair dance along with the all their choreo? Its like her hair is smothly flowing with the beat.
Just to clarify the meaning of the song, which can be looked at as a "relationship-ending" song, but whose message is really about being introspective and changing yourself for the better. If you watch the four girls and read what they're talking about, they are each describing the reason why they get into toxic relationships. They realize that they must "KILL" this sort of behavior in order to have a healthier relationship.
*Jennie* , on the black and white swans, discusses yin/yang, she feels that in order to have happiness there must always be sadness, and she knows that she is destined to repeat her mistake.
*Lisa* , the "cereal killer" (sorry, couldn't resist) believes in quantity over quality. She wants it all, even though love to her is a short, sweet sugar high that leaves her feeling empty and needing more.
*Jisoo* , in the church, realizes that she is weak, her stronger future self destroys her with a flaming arrow.
*Rosé* , driving the car, also causes her own destruction, running herself down in the road, the license plate on her car reads "EGO".

According to the site Dance Spirit, the choreographers for Kill This Love are Kyle Hanagami and Kiel Tutin. You can see Kiel dance with Lisa in dance cover video for the DJ Snake song Taki Taki.

They break down the Freudian psychological symbolism (when car driver Rose kills highway Rose, when assassin Jisoo kills Princess Jisoo, it is their SuperEgo's trying to wrest control away from their Egos, note the license plate "Ego"). They break down the Greek mythological symbolism. For example the broken head behind BP in the chorus, is Aphrodite, Greek Goddess of Love. But Aphrodite was a proponent of a selfish hedonistic (toxic) type of love. Her broken head on the ground symbolizes a rejection of that type of love in favor of a modern religious view of Love (Love is kind, unselfish, worth self sacrifice, etc.). They have separate dance moves for different choruses and their choreography is iconic. “Black Mamba” is a good one to start with, but “Next Level” and “Savage” are good as well.
