The only long queues i have had with passport control is when i arrived at malaga, i have been to lanzarote, tenerife, italy and france in the past year with no problems, I noticed a huge amount of flights to the u.k on the screen which would exacerbate the passport control issue and don't forget you still had to go through passport control when we were in the e.u, So maybe the lesson learned is don't leave it so late kev 😉

We came back through Faro,just before Easter. Industrial action was supposed to be happening at passport control so we were picked up earlier by jet 2. 0630 .Security was very efficient. The passengers were the problem not loading trays properly or taking belts off. Bloody Germans. At passport control the EU channel displays a Union Jack amongst the flags so we joined that queue. On presenting my passport he asked where I was going ,I replied Edinburgh, he pointed to the other longer queue and said Brexit ( laughing) I pointed out that his sign included the union jack and Scotland didn’t vote for Brexit. He stamped my passport and on seeing my wife said “another awkward one”. Stamped her passport and wished us a happy Easter. Lovely man 😊
"Scotland didn't vote for Brexit" - what, you mean no-one in Scotland was allowed to vote in the referendum in 2016? The Scots are laughable - many want to be 'independent' as long as they can be told what to do by the EU ! And let's not forget the fact that Scotland begged to be let in to the union between England and Wales when they had bankrupted themselves during their Darian Scheme which was all about greed and incompetence. Get awa' wi ye!
Hi. I'm a new follower. Could you advise if there are any buses outside the airport which go to vilamoura. If not which transfer companies would you recommend? Cheers
It was horrendous last week many running for flights they shouldn’t do it straight after security. Tenerife have it right people go through at different times not immediately after security.
Fair point there are pros and cons either way , I think main issue is lack of staff 2 guys stamping passports hundreds in q . In years to come it will be automated in some way.
@Barcadam The extra checks are there to remind you that you are no longer part of the soviet european union....You can proudly exclaim you are a subject of a sovereign nation.....The United Kingdom.... please try to hold your head a little higher.
Faro is always bad. Everyone who voted for Brexit should be forced to stand in a separate queue, everyone else should walk through easily like EU residents , oh to be able to wangle an Irish passport
