Any estimate as to how long that segment of the San Juan river will be completed? I guess it would be much faster since there's no car traffic to worry about.
no car but still some obstructions to be removed. Movement n the river noy easy and concrete delivery quite difficult for big volume. Completion scheduled for end of 2019. May be few more weeks /months if obstructions not removed on time

The pier 37 is a portal so one on land 37-1 and one in the river 37-2. The distance in between will allow the movement of the barges. If single pile, the barge cannot pass any more. It will be the same upstream of N. Domingo at pier 79

thank you for your question. The superstructure is quite light compare to conventional concrete structure. In addition, foundation and columns are with double rebars cages. The columns are with concrete 6000 psi (instead of 4000 psi) , the kernel is 9000 psi and the coping beam in steel. This will support 2 x 3 lanes so 6 lanes.

The entire infrastructure projects are concentrated in Luzon... I feel bad for Visayas and Mindanao. Our taxes, only for the benefit for tagalogs, while non-tagalogs have to suffer from the lack of infrastructure who is actually paying the price.
Most of the population is concentrated in Metro Manila - The need is obviously there. By the way, there is some projects in the Visayas (4 flyovers) and one Flyover is on going in Mindanao (another already done). I m sorry, but I do not have video as this is no so impressive. But you are right, The Philippines is not only Metro Manila.

The entire Metro Manila is like a welfare state, the rich in the Metro does not feed their poor, while the rich in the provinces, our taxes pay welfare to their poor. We have our very own poverty here in the province but at least they can pay their electricity and water bill. Why o why on the river? The river is a highway on its own if only we make use of that properly. Other countries even create man-made canals for transportation. We are lucky to be surrounded with water and yet we never use its full potential. I support this build, build, build projects but hopefully will also focus on logistics from pier to different parts of Philippines via railway and barges. Imagine removing all those big trucks on the highways. And very good for the economy.

The entire infrastructure projects are concentrated in Luzon... I feel bad for Visayas and Mindanao. Our taxes, only for the benefit for tagalogs, while non-tagalogs have to suffer from the lack of infrastructure who is actually paying the price.
Most of the population is concentrated in Metro Manila - The need is obviously there. By the way, there is some projects in the Visayas (4 flyovers) and one Flyover is on going in Mindanao (another already done). I m sorry, but I do not have video as this is no so impressive. But you are right, The Philippines is not only Metro Manila.
@@philip7014 Most of the population there don't even have cars nor have enough money to buy train ticket. Tagalog poverty is very unsustainable, and a huge stain to our pockets. The entire Metro Manila is like a welfare state, the rich in the Metro does not feed their poor, while the rich in the provinces, our taxes pay welfare to their poor. We have our very own poverty here in the province but at least they can pay their electricity and water bill.
The infrastructure currently being built here, they are not so impressive and huge compared to the huge amounts of our taxes stolen in Metro Manila. It's such a tragic, really.

Why o why on the river? The river is a highway on its own if only we make use of that properly. Other countries even create man-made canals for transportation. We are lucky to be surrounded with water and yet we never use its full potential. I support this build, build, build projects but hopefully will also focus on logistics from pier to different parts of Philippines via railway and barges. Imagine removing all those big trucks on the highways. And very good for the economy.

Duterte's goal is to continue all of this. Corruption is the reason why all these projects were suddenly stopped. One example here is the LEVISTE HIGHWAY here in Batangas, based on the government construction tarp., the project should already be finished by mid 2015, but it was stopped, halatang kinurakot eh. As of now, bigla na lang natuloy last year yung construction and it's because of the build3x and train programs.
