Abercrombie & Fitch make a "Curve Love" range, which adds 2" to the hips and keeps the waist the same. Most of their jeans and pants have this as an option, but it is a separate listing on their website. I only get the curve love range, because traditional jeans always have a waist gap for me. Hopefully you can get your hands on a pair and try them out.

I noticed the trousers you purchased were in the curve love, so that is most likely why they fit better.

These jeans were the curve love range! I never knew what that actually meant, though. Thanks for letting me know! I sadly had to return them and the size up were top big on the waist 💔 such a great concept though, just need like 3" instead of 2"😭
