No its actually because its running an older engine which is why it's coming to ps4 and Nintendo switch only. But xbox doesn't release xbox one games anymore. So if they do they'll have to upgrade the engine for next gen consoles. So if anything thanks xbox gamers because they probably make it come to ps5 thanks to them petitioning for the game

The xbox problem is much bigger than the PS5 thing. There would literally be no difference in the game itself, and worrying about the game being delisted isnt specific to one generation of console,and is something thats bypassed by buying the physical version. Im friends with tons of people that use only a ps5 and none of them seem to have any problem with buying the PS4 version. A classic game released on PS4 is effectively released on PS5
Actually, in this case it's better, because you can use PS4 controllers, like an old fighting stick. If the game was PS5 native you could have only used PS5 controllers like the Dualsense. No DualShock 4 and no ole fighting stick.
Thank god,there are people that get it,there is hope,but let's be real here folks and i say this after seeing a spreadsheet list from capcom's old financial stats from 2022 and the bottom part is an interesting line of text and reads as follows: xbox one is considered NON-VIABLE,with the 2019 remasters only selling around 1000 copies worldwide on that platform,when i read that piece all i could think of in my mind was,devs/publishers developing games will more and more pass up on xbox cause it simply doesn't make them money,with investment comes return and if you only sell a 1k of copies worldwide,that's not a whole lot of profit to be made right there!!

Playing MT Framework games on PS5 is a literal non-issue. I have both Megaman Legacy Collections, both MMX Legacy Collections, the Zero/ZX Legacy collection & UMvC3 on my PS5 and they all run perfectly. It's not like Street Fighter 6 where sacrifices have to be made in order to downgrade the game in order for it to run on the weaker hardware. There's no framerate change that would happen, no higher graphical fidelity to be gained nor raw processing power that needs to be crunched. The Switch gets to join the club because Ultra Street Fighter II, SF 30th Anniversary Collection and the 1st Capcom Fighting Collection all sold extremely well on the that platform so they're simply continuing the trend.
Everyone eating up the MT framework thing is fucking stupid. It's just an excuse. The MT engine is workiing through ps4 hardware that the ps5 is backwards compatible with. They just don't want to release the game because xbox players don't buy fighting games or colledtions. MT framework argument is just an excuse and is not true. @@kaom4713 To be honest, I initially was going to add that, but I didn't want it to come off as some snarkly PS fanboy. I still love my 360. But yeah, I would say that Capcom probably looked at the data and saw the fast majority of people who still load up MvC3 and MvCI are doing it on PC and PlayStation and figured it's just not worth the cost of bothering to port it to a console no one's going to use it on. A huge chuck of Game Pass users are playing on PC anyways, so they can just get the Steam version.
@@Glux247 It's capcom and other japanese developers fault for why xbox gamers don't play fighting games. They gave us a half assed version of tekken 7 with no jukebox. They never released GGxrd. Street fighter V went PS exclusive. Virtua fighter 5 final shodown is still the only current way to play VF on Xbox since VF:US is ps exclusive. Marvel infinite sucks. Nether realm mortal kombat games are hit or miss. Remember that SFIV and MvC2 were big on xbox back in the day during the 360 days.The problem people stopped is because of bad netcode on the consoles at the time. Killer instinct is another popular xbox fighting game. They're the reason they've burned the player base.
@kaom4713 Likely the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection and the Capcom Fighting Collection all sold terribly on Xbox. Capcom also took notice of the player base when they launch Capcom Arcade Stadium and Capcom 2nd Arcade Stadium for all platforms. While PlayStation and Nintendo players are happy with those collections, the Xbox players mostly look down on those saying they're just old games and not worth buying. Now that Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection is skipping Xbox, then the Xbox players are crying about it? Should had been more supportive when Capcom are feeding you.

@@kaom4713 I´m done with Square Enix since last gen. I played games from them, when they were two seperate companies, and were known as Squaresoft and Enix was Enix. I own their best games games like: Secret of Mana Secret of Evermore Chrono Trigger Or Illusion of Time and Terranigma in the case of Enix.
The 360 store is closing...ON THE 360, drama queens keep pretending it means that 360 games are going to disappear from Xbone and the Series consoles....ITS JUST THE 360 STORE ON THE XBOX 360. Xbox is just not worth specific developer consideration. Especially not for decades old niche collections. Xbox sales of MvC collection would likely not exceed a few thousand and that is being extremely optimistic.
Marvel vs capcom 2 is one of the best fighting games ever made and was ULTRA popular on the xbox and dream cast back in the day because the PS2 version sucked so much dick it wasn't even fun. They are relying on outdated opinions that came from an era where developers didn't release their fighting games for xbox and switch.
@@kaom4713 MvC2 really is a fantastic fighting game and I am glad that it is getting a modern release with modern netcode(hopefully!). But the FGC is a tiny segment of the total market already, and is currently(and thankfully) revitalized and saturated with choices. Combine that with xbox relative smaller market share in general and xbox fighting game market specifically, plus the almost non existant Japanese market and then the looming hype train of Project L and I am sure Capcom crunched the numbers and found no justification for dev costs for xbox(again). Realistically between SF6, T8, MK1, Strive, GBVSR, DBZ, and hell even DNF Duel there just aren't enough people in the FGC for devs to cater to every platform. And if people are already playing their favorite old school FGs on fightcade or emulators then the chances are pretty high they would just get it on PC anyway.
The PS3 and Xbox 360 did get a digital only re-release of MvC2 and it sold extremely well on both platforms, however at the end of the PS3/360 era the game was delisted from both digital stores never to be seen again on any modern hardware until now. So the notion that this fighting collection wouldn’t be in high demand for Xbox owners I think is untrue, and considering the growing cries from the Xbox community not getting this collection shows there is demand. Likewise as mentioned other Capcom game collections skipping the Xbox has clearly shown there’s an audience that wants the Mega Man games or Ace Attorney games, but for whatever reason Capcom just seems to snub Xbox on these compilations. I’m assuming it’s because of Game Pass, and they don’t want to list games they’re taking a loss on, where as PS5/4 and Switch they can make direct sales off of their games sold on those systems.
@@fernandonava6693 It’s a real thing for Devs. If you think about it, Games on releases added on gamepass, it’s like adding it on sell (special discount) on release. Which is a risky move. On PlayStation you get your benefits with PlayStation plus subscription and what not but you still buy games on full price of they new.
It obviously will, that is just common sense. Xbots don't buy games, they expect everything to be free on WelfarePass. Capcom/Disney want SALES to see if there is enough interest in making a new Marvel v Capcom and WelfarePass pennies or how many poor kids downloaded it don't matter when Xbox makes up 5% or less of sales.... RE8 sold 80% on PS, 12% on PC and 8% on Xbox.
Reason it's not c coming to Xbox: my theory is during the ps4 generation FGC was on Playstation or PC hardly any fighting games on Xbox, so they probably figure poor sales. Which precludes a physical release, but not a digital one... Reason it's not coming to current gen: Because there would be no difference and the new systems are backwards compatible, so just release it for the last gen and folks that want it will pick it up. Also it's kind of a test for us, the community. How many will buy in that kind of thing.
@kaom4713 very soon I think none of this will matter. All companies will release on all platforms digitally. Physical releases will be phased out. Which I hate, but should give us a better opportunity at preservation. And I can understand with the numbers that they usually pull on xbox, why Capcom wouldn't want to do a physical release on the system. But at the same time, there's no reason that they don't do a digital release it's just leaving money on the table
@otterdonnelly9959 True. But nowadays there's more folks into preserving at least the popular stuff and that's a little easier if it's all digital. The industry should be shifting to a model where they have as much available as possible of their back catalogs going forward. After all, there's no manufacturing costs with digital. Plus physical media just is too fragile for the long term preservation. Also for larger games, it's too limiting.
Now the other issue is if Sony ever decide to make a cheaper PS5 that no longer is backwards compatible with PS4 games, if that happens then Sony players would really gotten screw. The PS3 already proves that Sony could take away backwards compatibility even if that means making the console cheaper.

Do you guys not remember when PS3 was out we were still getting updated fighting games for PS2? Fighting game fans are used to this. Idk why being on PS5 is oh so important. It being on cheaper hardware means easier to get equipment for tournaments.
If Microsoft didn't stop producing for Xbox One, They would've definitely got the collection. Not sure why they stopped, but it was a bad business move.

I think people have a misconception of gamepass. Microsft doesn't force any game on gamepass. Thats entirly up to the developer. Some developers do it cause they need the money to continue development others just for the extra cash. In the end its completly up to the developer. People who hate on gamepass are usually fan boys who are blinded by there bias and cant see how much of a good deal this is for the consumer.
The issue with GamePass is that it could easily be exploited. Third party devs who do put their games on GamePass won't be able to make profit on their games there. Also most customers who use GamePass use it to test play games they want to buy, then when they decided to buy that game they buy it on PlayStation, Steam or Switch instead of Xbox. This is how Stadia and OnLive died, people subscribed to those service just to test out the free games, if they like it they buy those games on other platforms instead, if hated it then they never bother buying it in the first place.
I hope Capcom works something out. I bought a physical copy of Capcom Fighting Collection on Xbox, I put my money where my mouth is. I want a physical copy of this MvC Collection too. Sure, I can get it on Steam and be over with it, but I want it tangible so no digital distribution service can take it away from me.
If this is a physical release, I'm buying it. Also, what Sony should do is ensure that MVC Fighting Collection is fully forward compatible with the PS5, and if they don't make a PS5 version, simply put the PS4 version in the PS5 store.
Game pass kills developers. That is why Capcom won't bother releasing it there. I personally don't care for this pseudo censored collection. I already have the best version of MvsC2 I purchased on PS3, and it's backups.
The only thing that has been censored about it is some of the violence for The Punisher game. Nothing else has been censored. I own every version of this game but the digital 360 version. As someone that owns the PS3 digital version the game is not the best it does not have all the combos you can do in the Dreamcast version let alone the arcade version. This compilation will actually be using the arcade version. Also the Punisher game has never had the arcade version released to console ( the Sega Genesis version was way cut down and scaled back and heavily censored ) . In short you should do more research before you spew miss information.
Gamepass doesnt kill developers in the way you think microsoft pays a lot of money to have games on the service gamepass users dont get it for free and we have seen capcom put games on gamepass lots of times before though obviously capcom and other devs would want xbox players to buy the games at full pricealong with everyone else. Personally i dont have gamepass on xbox because i like to own my games and support the devs same goes for ps5 and switch.

I'm someone that owns every version of all these games including the Sega Genesis of the Punisher the previous only way to play gimped version of the game and it was way more censored than this version will be (I have played the arcade version a bunch back in the day and I'm excited to actually be able to play it at home).. but from what I can gather from your initial statement you weren't concerned with the Punisher game in the first place and simply you were concerned about MvC2 which it and none of the fighting games will be censored. Actually, this is better for PS5 users, especially for this genere. With PS4 games you can use PS4 controllers on the PS5, while you can only use the dualsense with a native PS5 game. This is not a problem for modern games, but for 2Dgames it's better this way: I got a PS4 Hori fighting commander and a Hori arcade stick, I couldn't have used them if this was a native PS5 version.

Thanks for this Fate. I believe it’s two factors here. It’s a PS exclusive deal over Xbox as this has happened many times. This is a HUGE release and PS wants it. This and Spideman is licensed to Sony so they don’t want it on the Xbox platform. If Xbox had every other collection…Xbox can have this as well. “Not worth the added cost” yet they are skipping millions of sales on a platform. Added this is on the Switch which is outdated tech….but it can’t be on the worlds “most powerful console”.

There’s no need for a native PS5 release. It’s simply not cost effective since these are old games and the ps4-ps5 hardware would be equal in how it runs these games. It’s not like this collection would benefit further from Native 4k HDR visuals either

The "Xbox players don't buy games" argument is bullshit: Capcom launched for Xbox all its collections. Megaman Collection 1 and 2, Megaman X Collection 1 and 2, Fighting Games Collection, Street Fighter Collection, Beat 'em Up Collection, Ace Attorney Collection, all of them are currently available on Xbox. This is the only one that won't come to Xbox.
PLEASE READ! Saying the game isn't on xbox because MT engine is old hardware is a misinformation. MT framework works on old hardwware like ps4 and xbox one. People are so Ignorant they don't even remember these games are backwards compatible with the last generation. People are even forgetting ps4 games work on ps5. The game CAN be released on xbox and would work just as good as the ps4 version. They can just release the game as xbox one titles and people on the xbox series can still buy them. They don't have to port the fucking game to the new consoles.
I play mainly on Xbox but i do play games on Switch and Steam as well, yes it sucks that is not coming to Xbox, but getting a good condition PS4 is a VERY doable thing, you can currently find one for very cheap.
This is why you don't get rid of your old systems. However PS5 is backwards compatibility and you're getting the best of both worlds. I also have a switch so I ain't hurting. Just buy a physical copy.
The previous fighting collection is on Xbox One, and you say Microsoft has no problem with devs making Xbox One games... but if all of a sudden they're asking for Series optimization where Sony is not for PS5, is Capcom really at fault here? Especially after all the anti-consumer practices and policies that the Micro$oft conglomerate corporation has been involved in? The company that didn't even test Redfall before it shipped (let alone talk to the devs, who were hoping MS would cancel it). The company that up until recently said that all their studio games would be exclusive, but are expanding their library into Nintendo, Sony, and Amazon Firestick platforms (smart TVs aren't far behind)? The same company that said they value Tango Gameworks making HiFi Rush instead of Evil Within 3, bragged about how well it was doing, and then fired the entire studio (among others) because it didn't bring more GamePass subscriptions (more layoffs coming btw)? Somehow the conversation shifts to Sony maybe blocking PS4 games from working on PS5 (or 6 I presume) in the future. Sure, they may take them down from the store... but I guarantee that if PS6 has a disc drive, and plays PS4 games, then you'll be able to fire up your physical copy 10-15 years from now (maybe more if you still hold on to old systems)!
It’s not that they can’t do it it just the amount or time, effort n money to do so ain’t worth it especially since they are putting it on the switch which has the largest install base outta all 3 consoles n 50-60% of PlayStations user base is still on ps4 and PC has basically the largest amount of gamers period plus most Xbox players have a PC, Nintendo Switch or PlayStation anyway so not like they’ll really miss out on it
Dude, the PS4 games run NATIVE on PS5, theres no big advantage on make a PS5 version, PS4 actually make a lot of sense since you will sell the game to PS4 owner AND PS5 owner. This are super old games, they already run at 60fps on PS4 with easy, there not use for PS5 extra power or Ray Tracing capabilities. Thats exactly why a lot of indies still release on PS4.
The Xbox game pass is something that the Japanese market isnt happy about. Microsoft buying up studios was seen as a threat also. They could release on Xbox if they wanted to. Theyve adapted it for Switch so cant see why they cant for xbox

PS4 still has a bigger audience than PS5. Them shutting down “the PS4 store” won’t be a factor. On PS5 you can still buy PS1 games. Them shutting down that store would only stop you from being able to buy the game on the actual PS4, you will still be able to get it on PS5, PS6 and on. With these games, PS5 wont offer any noticeable upgrades. And this game will be D-listed way before they shut down the PS4 store. lol
A PS4 version for this game is a non issue, the game didn't take any advantage of the PS5, being a PS4 title mean compatibility with any fighting stick, you can save your SSD space and install the game on an external device which is totally fine for the game. PS4 pro offers 4k60 as same as PS5 so no problem there either. The only hope for Xbox is a gamepass deal
The issue is isn't on Capcom side lol its on the consoles. Install base to small is that simple and game pass isn't profitable on capcom nor is ps5 they going after the money.

I own all those games across multiple plattforms (SNES, Sega Genesis, Sega Dreamcast etc), i don´t buy a next gen console to play 20 - 30 year old games. But this doesn´t mean that capcom won´t feel, the aftermath of this decision. Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is announced on XBOX and Gamepass, i see this game performing really bad because of their recent decision to skip XBOX again.

So the Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection game bragging on the Sony PS4 is a waste of time and a slap in the face as well.
Just because they will stop producing the console in 25 doesnt mean all the console will dissapear, it takes another year or so for the entire srock to sell out and by then people can just buy it on ps5 so it doesnt matter

That sucks, as a PS5 player. Their lost. I seen other devs sell collections on PS5, like the Metal Gear Collection and other and even a remastered collection sell of GTA and Mafia. So I don’t know why they won’t be releasing it on the PS5 or new Xbox. Maybe they don’t wanna put it on gamepass because as some say it’s not worth the devs effort, they want the full price if you want to buy and play it. If that’s the case, just put it exclusive full price sell on Xbox store.

As a ps5 owner. I couldn't give shit about using the PS4 disc. Works great with the sf anniversary collection. Xbox reasoning is game pass related. That's my opinion.
I heard on good authority that its not coming to xbox is because this collection features alot pretty female game characters and xbox has policy that states all female characters must be ugly , masculine and unattractive
I'm sorry. There is no excuse not to have a PS5 and series X/S versions of these games. Thing about BC on PS5 it's kinda hit and miss compared to series X/S. I've played my ps4 games on PS5 and sometimes it crashes. Never had that happen to Series X/S.
@@mobious01 yes and no. Yes games crash sometimes it happens. However Sony's BC isn't on the same level as Microsofts. Microsoft has been developing BC since xbox 1 while Sony's just started with PS4 games on PS5. There's a reason why there's 2 versions of a Sony and 3rd party games. It's not just about money. It's about taking advantage of the stronger hardware. Not all ps4 games run like they should of PS5 because they were meant for PS4 to begin with.

The xbox problem is much bigger than the PS5 thing. There would literally be no difference in the game itself, and worrying about the game being delisted isnt specific to one generation of console,and is something thats bypassed by buying the physical version. Im friends with tons of people that use only a ps5 and none of them seem to have any problem with buying the PS4 version. A classic game released on PS4 is effectively released on PS5
Actually, in this case it's better, because you can use PS4 controllers, like an old fighting stick. If the game was PS5 native you could have only used PS5 controllers like the Dualsense. No DualShock 4 and no ole fighting stick.

Playing MT Framework games on PS5 is a literal non-issue. I have both Megaman Legacy Collections, both MMX Legacy Collections, the Zero/ZX Legacy collection & UMvC3 on my PS5 and they all run perfectly.
It's not like Street Fighter 6 where sacrifices have to be made in order to downgrade the game in order for it to run on the weaker hardware. There's no framerate change that would happen, no higher graphical fidelity to be gained nor raw processing power that needs to be crunched.
The Switch gets to join the club because Ultra Street Fighter II, SF 30th Anniversary Collection and the 1st Capcom Fighting Collection all sold extremely well on the that platform so they're simply continuing the trend.

But yeah, I would say that Capcom probably looked at the data and saw the fast majority of people who still load up MvC3 and MvCI are doing it on PC and PlayStation and figured it's just not worth the cost of bothering to port it to a console no one's going to use it on. A huge chuck of Game Pass users are playing on PC anyways, so they can just get the Steam version.

Street fighter V went PS exclusive. Virtua fighter 5 final shodown is still the only current way to play VF on Xbox since VF:US is ps exclusive. Marvel infinite sucks. Nether realm mortal kombat games are hit or miss. Remember that SFIV and MvC2 were big on xbox back in the day during the 360 days.The problem people stopped is because of bad netcode on the consoles at the time. Killer instinct is another popular xbox fighting game. They're the reason they've burned the player base.
@kaom4713 Likely the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection and the Capcom Fighting Collection all sold terribly on Xbox. Capcom also took notice of the player base when they launch Capcom Arcade Stadium and Capcom 2nd Arcade Stadium for all platforms. While PlayStation and Nintendo players are happy with those collections, the Xbox players mostly look down on those saying they're just old games and not worth buying. Now that Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection is skipping Xbox, then the Xbox players are crying about it? Should had been more supportive when Capcom are feeding you.

Xbox is just not worth specific developer consideration. Especially not for decades old niche collections. Xbox sales of MvC collection would likely not exceed a few thousand and that is being extremely optimistic.
Marvel vs capcom 2 is one of the best fighting games ever made and was ULTRA popular on the xbox and dream cast back in the day because the PS2 version sucked so much dick it wasn't even fun. They are relying on outdated opinions that came from an era where developers didn't release their fighting games for xbox and switch.
@@kaom4713 MvC2 really is a fantastic fighting game and I am glad that it is getting a modern release with modern netcode(hopefully!). But the FGC is a tiny segment of the total market already, and is currently(and thankfully) revitalized and saturated with choices. Combine that with xbox relative smaller market share in general and xbox fighting game market specifically, plus the almost non existant Japanese market and then the looming hype train of Project L and I am sure Capcom crunched the numbers and found no justification for dev costs for xbox(again). Realistically between SF6, T8, MK1, Strive, GBVSR, DBZ, and hell even DNF Duel there just aren't enough people in the FGC for devs to cater to every platform. And if people are already playing their favorite old school FGs on fightcade or emulators then the chances are pretty high they would just get it on PC anyway.
The PS3 and Xbox 360 did get a digital only re-release of MvC2 and it sold extremely well on both platforms, however at the end of the PS3/360 era the game was delisted from both digital stores never to be seen again on any modern hardware until now.
So the notion that this fighting collection wouldn’t be in high demand for Xbox owners I think is untrue, and considering the growing cries from the Xbox community not getting this collection shows there is demand.
Likewise as mentioned other Capcom game collections skipping the Xbox has clearly shown there’s an audience that wants the Mega Man games or Ace Attorney games, but for whatever reason Capcom just seems to snub Xbox on these compilations.
I’m assuming it’s because of Game Pass, and they don’t want to list games they’re taking a loss on, where as PS5/4 and Switch they can make direct sales off of their games sold on those systems.

Which I hate, but should give us a better opportunity at preservation. And I can understand with the numbers that they usually pull on xbox, why Capcom wouldn't want to do a physical release on the system. The industry should be shifting to a model where they have as much available as possible of their back catalogs going forward. After all, there's no manufacturing costs with digital. Plus physical media just is too fragile for the long term preservation. Also for larger games, it's too limiting.

Now the other issue is if Sony ever decide to make a cheaper PS5 that no longer is backwards compatible with PS4 games, if that happens then Sony players would really gotten screw. I think people have a misconception of gamepass. Microsft doesn't force any game on gamepass. Thats entirly up to the developer. Some developers do it cause they need the money to continue development others just for the extra cash. In the end its completly up to the developer. People who hate on gamepass are usually fan boys who are blinded by there bias and cant see how much of a good deal this is for the consumer.
The issue with GamePass is that it could easily be exploited. Third party devs who do put their games on GamePass won't be able to make profit on their games there. Also most customers who use GamePass use it to test play games they want to buy, then when they decided to buy that game they buy it on PlayStation, Steam or Switch instead of Xbox. This is how Stadia and OnLive died, people subscribed to those service just to test out the free games, if they like it they buy those games on other platforms instead, if hated it then they never bother buying it in the first place.
I hope Capcom works something out. I bought a physical copy of Capcom Fighting Collection on Xbox, I put my money where my mouth is. I want a physical copy of this MvC Collection too. Sure, I can get it on Steam and be over with it, but I want it tangible so no digital distribution service can take it away from me.

If this is a physical release, I'm buying it. Also, what Sony should do is ensure that MVC Fighting Collection is fully forward compatible with the PS5, and if they don't make a PS5 version, simply put the PS4 version in the PS5 store.

The only thing that has been censored about it is some of the violence for The Punisher game. Nothing else has been censored. I own every version of this game but the digital 360 version. As someone that owns the PS3 digital version the game is not the best it does not have all the combos you can do in the Dreamcast version let alone the arcade version. This compilation will actually be using the arcade version. Also the Punisher game has never had the arcade version released to console ( the Sega Genesis version was way cut down and scaled back and heavily censored ) . In short you should do more research before you spew miss information.
Gamepass doesnt kill developers in the way you think microsoft pays a lot of money to have games on the service gamepass users dont get it for free and we have seen capcom put games on gamepass lots of times before though obviously capcom and other devs would want xbox players to buy the games at full pricealong with everyone else.
Personally i dont have gamepass on xbox because i like to own my games and support the devs same goes for ps5 and switch.

Actually, this is better for PS5 users, especially for this genere. With PS4 games you can use PS4 controllers on the PS5, while you can only use the dualsense with a native PS5 game.
This is not a problem for modern games, but for 2Dgames it's better this way: I got a PS4 Hori fighting commander and a Hori arcade stick, I couldn't have used them if this was a native PS5 version.

Thanks for this Fate. I believe it’s two factors here. It’s a PS exclusive deal over Xbox as this has happened many times. This is a HUGE release and PS wants it. This and Spideman is licensed to Sony so they don’t want it on the Xbox platform. If Xbox had every other collection…Xbox can have this as well. “Not worth the added cost” yet they are skipping millions of sales on a platform. Added this is on the Switch which is outdated tech….but it can’t be on the worlds “most powerful console”.

The "Xbox players don't buy games" argument is bullshit: Capcom launched for Xbox all its collections. Megaman Collection 1 and 2, Megaman X Collection 1 and 2, Fighting Games Collection, Street Fighter Collection, Beat 'em Up Collection, Ace Attorney Collection, all of them are currently available on Xbox. This is the only one that won't come to Xbox.

I play mainly on Xbox but i do play games on Switch and Steam as well, yes it sucks that is not coming to Xbox, but getting a good condition PS4 is a VERY doable thing, you can currently find one for very cheap.
This is why you don't get rid of your old systems. However PS5 is backwards compatibility and you're getting the best of both worlds. I also have a switch so I ain't hurting. Just buy a physical copy.
The previous fighting collection is on Xbox One, and you say Microsoft has no problem with devs making Xbox One games... but if all of a sudden they're asking for Series optimization where Sony is not for PS5, is Capcom really at fault here? The company that didn't even test Redfall before it shipped (let alone talk to the devs, who were hoping MS would cancel it). The company that up until recently said that all their studio games would be exclusive, but are expanding their library into Nintendo, Sony, and Amazon Firestick platforms (smart TVs aren't far behind)? The same company that said they value Tango Gameworks making HiFi Rush instead of Evil Within 3, bragged about how well it was doing, and then fired the entire studio (among others) because it didn't bring more GamePass subscriptions (more layoffs coming btw)?
Somehow the conversation shifts to Sony maybe blocking PS4 games from working on PS5 (or 6 I presume) in the future. Sure, they may take them down from the store... but I guarantee that if PS6 has a disc drive, and plays PS4 games, then you'll be able to fire up your physical copy 10-15 years from now (maybe more if you still hold on to old systems)!

Dude, the PS4 games run NATIVE on PS5, theres no big advantage on make a PS5 version, PS4 actually make a lot of sense since you will sell the game to PS4 owner AND PS5 owner. This are super old games, they already run at 60fps on PS4 with easy, there not use for PS5 extra power or Ray Tracing capabilities. Thats exactly why a lot of indies still release on PS4.

Them shutting down that store would only stop you from being able to buy the game on the actual PS4, you will still be able to get it on PS5, PS6 and on. With these games, PS5 wont offer any noticeable upgrades. And this game will be D-listed way before they shut down the PS4 store. lol

Lack of ps5 is not an issue, the games wont run any better on it since they are just emulated titles of old games
A PS4 version for this game is a non issue, the game didn't take any advantage of the PS5, being a PS4 title mean compatibility with any fighting stick, you can save your SSD space and install the game on an external device which is totally fine for the game. PS4 pro offers 4k60 as same as PS5 so no problem there either. The only hope for Xbox is a gamepass deal
The issue is isn't on Capcom side lol its on the consoles. Install base to small is that simple and game pass isn't profitable on capcom nor is ps5 they going after the money.
GamePass is not consumer friendly at all.

I own all those games across multiple plattforms (SNES, Sega Genesis, Sega Dreamcast etc), i don´t buy a next gen console to play 20 - 30 year old games.
But this doesn´t mean that capcom won´t feel, the aftermath of this decision.
Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is announced on XBOX and Gamepass, i see this game performing really bad because of their recent decision to skip XBOX again.
The solution is to make a bigger and better game so you don’t want to go back.

@@MarceloDepThe problem with Sony PS4 having a bigger audience because it was out longer than the Sony PS5 but in 2025 Sony is discontinuing the Sony PS4 gaming consoles and it's games services and turning to Sony PS5 and it's games. So the Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection game bragging on the Sony PS4 is a waste of time and a slap in the face as well.
Just because they will stop producing the console in 25 doesnt mean all the console will dissapear, it takes another year or so for the entire srock to sell out and by then people can just buy it on ps5 so it doesnt matter
@@mobious01 That post is false. Microsoft maker Phil Spencer or someone else with Microsoft said, they will continue making consoles as they are planning success through multiplatform gaming. Having their games appear on Sony PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC as well.

you know what f'd up capcom has a collection on SERIES X called Capcom Arcade Stadium and it has a bunch o classic arcade games and guess what.............its made in RE ENGINE so tell me why with their biggest best collection, they use MT?

That sucks, as a PS5 player. Their lost. I seen other devs sell collections on PS5, like the Metal Gear Collection and other and even a remastered collection sell of GTA and Mafia. So I don’t know why they won’t be releasing it on the PS5 or new Xbox. Maybe they don’t wanna put it on gamepass because as some say it’s not worth the devs effort, they want the full price if you want to buy and play it. If that’s the case, just put it exclusive full price sell on Xbox store.

A Ps4 Port is available inmediatly on Ps5 thanks to backwards compatibility, plus its an old Game compilation with online.

As a ps5 owner. I couldn't give shit about using the PS4 disc. Works great with the sf anniversary collection. Xbox reasoning is game pass related. That's my opinion.

I'm sorry. There is no excuse not to have a PS5 and series X/S versions of these games. Thing about BC on PS5 it's kinda hit and miss compared to series X/S. I've played my ps4 games on PS5 and sometimes it crashes. Never had that happen to Series X/S.

@@mobious01 yes and no. Yes games crash sometimes it happens. However Sony's BC isn't on the same level as Microsofts. Microsoft has been developing BC since xbox 1 while Sony's just started with PS4 games on PS5. There's a reason why there's 2 versions of a Sony and 3rd party games. It's not just about money. It's about taking advantage of the stronger hardware. Not all ps4 games run like they should of PS5 because they were meant for PS4 to begin with.
