This video was really interesting!! would you maybe consider making it into a series and doing more "day in the lifes"? Also a question for your questions video: how do you balance horses, social life and college, seeing as studying to be a vet is quite a difficult course?
Are vet interviews as scary as they seem? How did you balance horses and getting good grades to get in? Did you do any work experience before applying? X Fiona looks so good! This was a really interesting video 💙
Great video, I loved it! It is excatly the type of veterinarian video I was looking for! Could you do more please? I actually want to become a vet as well, but it is so hard to be accepted in the program where I live...
This was enjoyable to watch because I am also a veterinary student but my classes are online and I don't get to work with my horse all that often... but its fun to watch others have fun on their life adventures!
What got you interested in veterinary in the first place? What year of uni are you in and what are your exams like, as in are they multiple choice or a written format and how often do you have them? Loved this vid x
This video is SO informative! Especially in showing your very full schedule. Fiona has REALLY filled out now that you have her close by. My contribution to Holly and her horses? NOT skippping any ads....
Love this so much Fiona is absolutely gorgeous and her jumping is sooooooo good she looks really careful over all the fences😍😍 Also do you have any study tips (particularly for a procrastinator like myself😂)? x
Poppy Mercer planning! I haaaaaatteeee studying biggest procrasinator here. ) but plan your time in advamce, and then set timers for that time. For example plan study in for tuesday night and wednesday afternoon. And then on your phone set reminders and a lot of timers! An hour in advsmce , then 30 mins, then 15,10,5,2,1 by the time you get to 5 your e like yeah fine Lets study
Really really enjoyed this ‘day in the life....’ video !! Could definitely watch loads more 😀👍🏻👏🏻 Fiona is looking amazing and seems to have adjusted well to her new surroundings too 🥰
I would have loved to study this but one requires a remarkable level of intelligence for such an important career. Sadly I am a simple minded woman who took a very different career path but animals, dogs and horses are very much a large part of my life. I really enjoyed this vlog Holly, believe it or not it was interesting. Best of luck with your studies and exams xx
my uncle is the director of the lab technicians in the vet department and my dad works in the bichemistry department haha its so cool to see your classes and stuff because i want to do veterinary so so badly. im currently doing veterinary bioscience in tralee.
Please post the video on how you got in and what subjects you did for the LC!!!!! I'm in TY and am dying to know all about it as I have my mind set on studying veterinary at UCD when I'm done secondary school
I love that even on the other side of the world, vet students are all the same - you guys seem just like as my group of vet friends! Really cool video. At around 3:40, is the word document answering learning objectives or do you study via answering questions relating to the lecture? Do they give you practice questions? It looks interesting! Love the yard too x
As someone who is going to Uni for Vet Sciences (I plan to specialize in equines) and who is an aspiring professional showjumper this was really interesting to watch!
This is great!! I think it's wonderful that you and JetEquitheory are showing how you manage school and riding. Your campus is GORGEOUS! My college days were 30 yrs ago and my campus was dingy and old (still is---it wasn't a vet college, just reg college). Thanks for sharing!
I love horses and ride all the time but I don’t know wether to commit to doing it for a career or not. What do you think of your course and were you considering doing other courses?
I think I would really like to do veterinary!, I’m doing my junior cert in a few months and I’m going then into ty... if you did ty or even if you didn’t , would you recommend any places to apply for Work experience? Also would you recommend DCU and how many points did you need or get for the course if you don’t mind me asking? I’m from laoise btw!
Hi Fiona! First time seeing your channel and amazing! I was just wondering if you can collect experience throughtout school or does it only count for the university if you did the experience a year before?
Loved the video, as always ! Qustion about studying in ireland, how long will you be studying for and do you have to do "work experiences". Because I know here in Germany the vet students have to work at several clinics and smaller vets. I'm a veterinary nurse in a clinic small animals and we've always got students for either 6 weeks or even up to 3 months coming and going. So if you ever need somewhere to get some work experience in Germany, let me know ! 😄😄
Holly, what year are you in? I"m curious to know if this vet program is similar to those in North America---Our vets here go to a variety of different colleges, but our best school is known as OVC--Ontario Vet College out of Guelph University. That's the hardest one to get into and the main one we have if students wish to focus on large animal (they have a huge surgery for horses there). There are smaller schools around now that have a bit of those teaching facilities, but OVC is our main large animal school just given how it was built to teach the students surgeries etc. (They also take in exotics like a riding student of mine was there and working as a volunteer and they had a 6 ft boa constrictor flown in from the east coast for a surgery because it ate a towel. Owner was feeding it and he set a towel down and turned his back just for a moment and then noticed it was gone. Oops. Snake was fine and she got photo of herself with him before he went back home). Does your school do this too? It looked as if you were learning aspects of all animals though--small as well. Does your vet college focus on all animals to begin with then you branch off in your field of focus? Or is this school more focused for larger animals?
Random Stranger hahaha😂 the test went well, I mean, I hope so. We had to read a tekst, but the irregular verbs were missing and we had to fill them in, but in the correct tense too, and that was so difficult😂 and I’m sorry if I’ve written something wrong, as you know I’m Dutch hahaha. Oh and if there is, please correct me! I love to learn from my mistakes😄❤️❤️
What kinda of grades did you have in high school and prevet? What is the application process like? Do you know if it is super different in Ireland compared to America? Do you have any study tips? I have a hard time focusing. Is it possible to become a vet without racking up $100,000 in student debt? Thank you so much if you actually answer these 😂 Please make more videos like this!
Harper M in Ireland at the end of secondary school (high school) there’s a big exam called the Leaving Cert, which is scored by points. The highest amount of points you can get is 625. To do the veterinary medicine course in UCD (her college) you need to score 555 (or more) points in your Leaving Cert x
I’m aiming to do Veterinary in England, I’m currently studying my GCSEs and I’m on track to getting good grades but I was wondering what the interviewing stage for university is like and how you chose your uni!
My horse barres it's teeth when you touch it's wither even without the saddle. She only does dressage/showing and I called the vet out for her yearly annual anatomy check thingy magigy and she can't find anything. What can I do to make her more comfortable
Q, why did you choose to do a vet course over an equine vet or chiropractic course? and ive got mainly C's at GCSE's and will have passed my level 3 business college course in a few months and am considering doing a chiropractor course but worried i wont put the work in as its quite a few years x
Hi, Ik i am a year late but i am a 13 year old from Belfast N.I and i really want to be a vet then specialise in equine veterinary treatments and currently i am thinking about going to dublin. I never really liked the STEM subjects in school but i know this is something i really want to do, is dublin a good uni?
Hi Holly this question has no relation to this video but could you answer it for me. WHAT WOULD I WEAR TO A LOCOL SHOW IF I DO NOT HAVE SHOW JAKET OR ANY THING LIKE THAT ALL I HAVE IS MY BEIGE JODPURS AND BOOTS? Please answer love Rachel asap
Hi So I love horses and I’m hoping to be a vet when I am older but I’m wondering how I am going to balance horses and studies any tips? P.S if I want to be a vet I will have to go to UCD too!
Do you think livestock farmers get vets for the health of the cow, or they just want to keep the cow for profit?Since they're brutally killed either way
Fiona is so pretty!😍❤️🐴

Fiona is so pretty!! 🤣🤣💜🐎🐎🐴🐴🦄🦄
Does everyone have so much lessons. Im doing vet in Belgium, Im free on mondays, and have 3 half days, only 1 full day (untill 7) and one till 4
Do you need to be really smart and good at maths to be a vet. I really want to be a vet but I’m rubbish at maths
I think it's mainly sciences? But everything needs maths so don't not bother with it
Same here, but just study up on your maths + sciences and im sure you can do it

What kinda of grades did you have in high school and prevet? What is the application process like? Do you know if it is super different in Ireland compared to America? Do you have any study tips? Holly Lenahan Oh okay thank you!

I’m aiming to do Veterinary in England, I’m currently studying my GCSEs and I’m on track to getting good grades but I was wondering what the interviewing stage for university is like and how you chose your uni!
We don’t do interviews in Ireland :)
I enjoyed watching the video!🐎🏇🥕🍎ps give dali a hello from me!!!

How do you determine pole spacing like with a pole, jump, and another pole. I know each horse is different in stride and size.
My horse barres it's teeth when you touch it's wither even without the saddle. She only does dressage/showing and I called the vet out for her yearly annual anatomy check thingy magigy and she can't find anything. What can I do to make her more comfortable
why do you use a bit converter, just curious
Fiona looks so good now that her red coat has grown in😛
Why is Fiona so gorgeous? She reminds me of a unicorn without the horn

What are you studying? And where will go after university?
So do you work aswell as college and horses? Like how do you afford full livery?

Is there a big difference between college and secondary?
Hi, Ik i am a year late but i am a 13 year old from Belfast N.I and i really want to be a vet then specialise in equine veterinary treatments and currently i am thinking about going to dublin. Hi
So I love horses and I’m hoping to be a vet when I am older but I’m wondering how I am going to balance horses and studies any tips?
P.S if I want to be a vet I will have to go to UCD too!
Do you think livestock farmers get vets for the health of the cow, or they just want to keep the cow for profit?Since they're brutally killed either way

The university website will probably have information
Random Stranger yeh I’ve checked but I’d like some examples because sometimes they put up expected grades and it differs from it a bit but thanks :)
