Leo , I also especially appreciate your attention and Respect to the Veterans....As one myself ...It truly means something to me how you show Respect to all ,but especially the Veterans. Thankyou .
We have been here before Leo. This is a beautiful spot in West Virginia. Although you are out in God's country, it is beautiful. Love the church. It is really interesting that you and Heather share the stories of some of the people buried in the cemetery. Thank you for sharing.
Leo, thank you for the tour of the cemetary. You just put a piece of the puzzle to my family tree in place. Not too many nicknamed "Punch Bill" but my 4th gr grandparents are Punch Bill and Nancy Allen Farley. I got to enter a little bit of info to my tree. Thanks
Awesome video! This one must have kept Heather busy for a while with ALL that research. It is sad to see the church being used for storage. The graveyard is in good condition. The grave of the confederate veteran is very interesting, with the confederate cross. The grave of James white is very interesting. I would have thought that he would have a veterans headstone. I believe you are correct, it does seem natural, for that broken down truck to be there. Thank you very much Leo and Heather, your hard work is very much appreciated. Take care. 😊
Seen a few of his vedios before. There really nice beautiful peaceful vedios. Very interesting story he tells. Thanks! For sharing this Gail.💖 Enjoy your weekend.💖
Love yalls Channel ...and especially bring back to life regular people's lives ....Speaking Their Names ...and history when possible...for we will all take that journey one day ....Best Regards Leo and Heather.
Wow. Lives lived in stone. Thank you for the format in which you delivery that " dash" between the dates/ times. One can only imagine what these souls experienced in the times they lived in. So many tragic stories, especially of the young.
Thankyou for this video,I m in the family tree William Farley and Ruth McCoy I was not expecting to see either one of their graves and the video ended with seeing one of my grandpa's plus.
Love how you did this video telling ages and history so u could pause and read if need be ty. R.I.P. so many young people died sad. Very interesting video. Loved the scenery and the history ty so much. God bless you and your family. Loved the church and way you said more horse and buggy than cars bet your right there. Enjoyed this so much.
I can't tell you how incredibly thankful that I found your channel. You do a fantastic job at give brief, but informative information about those who have passed on. ❤
Very interesting video. A pretty place. Buena Vista Farmer is certainly a very unusual name. Given what I presume may have been herfather's age I have to wonder if he fought in the Mexican American war at the battle of Buena Vista. Probably a question that the answer is lost in the mists of time
Love the history and pictures. It makes them real people again and gives insight into their live. Thank you guys for taking the time to do these videos.
William curry and Sarah Ann are my 4th great grandparents pretty much every one here is family. I have Varney, curry, duty,Ferrell,McCoy,hatfild, murpy and many more
Hello from East Texas! I love cemeteries and I love your channel. Y’all’s research and documentation is phenomenal. The colorization of the photos is wonderful. Don’t know about anybody else but I can see the person much clearer which seems to kinda make them seem more real, if that makes any sense. Please keep the content coming. I always look forward to y’all next video. Again thank y’all so very much. 32:20
My grandfather outlive 3 wives. 2 sets kids. He was born in1889 passed in 1984. Foothills smoky mts. East tn. I heard he used to make moonshine, which probably was in the 1920-40s. 😊
Another very nice video from two of the best. Great narrative and excellent research. Someone goes to a cemetery and reads a name, dates, and just walks on, and that's it. Not after watching y'alls videos. For years before finding your videos, I had starting wondering what the history was after reading the names and dates. Now I keep expecting one of y'all to start speaking and telling me all the particulars on this person. Y'all have spoiled me !!! I love y'alls videos and get to them as quick as I can. God bless y'all for all you do. And y'all stay safe out there on your travels.
@@thehillbillyfiles Ollie J Curry. "Wife" was Clara Mae Murphy although I havent found a record of a marriage, and Ollie was listed as single, living with his parents in Elk Creek in 1950. Clara was the daughter of Timothy (Twitty) and Rosie Lee (Washington) Murphy of Emerson, Columbia, Arkansas, 23 May 1930 to 19 Aug 1998. Buried near her parents and brother Preston at Pine Hill Cemetery, Columbia County. (her grave doesnt appear to have a photo listed) Her family were african american and her family tree is closed as she has at least one living child.
Another great little lost history video, thanks for the stories and wonderful views. When did you film this? Because there should be green on those trees if it were in the past week or so. Also Martha was so pretty. I bet it was from Spanish Flu. I'll tell you again, I so appreciate your channel and the care you two take to record these. The colorizing of the photos really brings them to life. Wonderful.
My grandfather was a Crum. He lived in Cliff, KY when he died. I wonder if any of these people are related to him. He’s buried in Cliff on a hill. It’s call Jefferson Bingham cemetery.
Way too many to list them all. Ancestry, find a grave, my heritage, and a whole bunch more. It depends on where they died, where they were buried, and several other things.
Thanks Leo and Heather. I watch a lot of true crime and my mind can go to dark places sometimes. Mutiple wives and children dying too young. Depression and poverty?
I'm a little late to comment on this one, but here's a little more information on Geraldine Curry. She was one of 17 patients who were killed in a fire at the old Huntington State Hospital on Nov. 26, 1952. The Herald-Dispatch had a couple of stories about the fire in their archive. I'm not sure if the cause of the fire was ever determined, other than it supposedly started in the basement.
We have to be related...I am elk creek gilman by blood...relatives are baisden...runyun...white...curry...shepherd...David Baisden is my father's cousin
geraldine's story was sad. 6 years in a mental institution, when the reputations were horrible and then accidental dies. Poor supervision? tragic regardless
When I see those precious old churches I always think about the the people who gave their life to God there over all those years🙏
I do too. 🕊 ✝
Leo , I also especially appreciate your attention and Respect to the Veterans....As one myself ...It truly means something to me how you show Respect to all ,but especially the Veterans. Thankyou .

Thank you. Yes, we filmed it about a week ago. It takes a while to get all the info that we like to include.
I grew up in Delbarton WV, my parents were WC and Janet Totten hello neighbors,
Thanks for the tour and history. Guess they had to have a bunch of kids so some would carry on the name 😢🇺🇸

What website do you use for these family trees

I don't know if you can hear this, but after you say "pretty stone, isn't it?" at 11:08 I hear a male voice softly say "it is a headstone!"
We have to be related...I am elk creek gilman by blood...relatives are baisden...runyun...white...curry...shepherd...David Baisden is my father's cousin
Good Morning Hillbillies. 😅😊
